Sansol Sinsa Main Branch is a premium aged-pork barbecue restaurant a 3-minute walk from Sinsa Station Exit 4 in Seocho, Seoul. The meal was two servings of aged pork collar, one serving of aged pork belly and a rustic doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew), all grilled at the table by a dedicated griller and served with aged kimchi and baek-kimchi (white kimchi) side dishes. Today I was craving proper premium aged pork, so I headed to Sansol Sinsa Main Branch (산솔 신사본점), a restaurant near Sinsa that's been getting really hot lately. The meat quality, the neat table setting, and the service were all satisfying, so let me leave a detailed review.
How to get to Sansol Sinsa Main Branch from Sinsa Station
Sansol Sinsa Main Branch is only about a 3-minute walk (roughly 230m) from Exit 4 of Sinsa Station on Line 3 and the Sinbundang Line, so public transit access is really excellent. Coming in through the alley by the Paris Baguette, the sleek exterior stood out and was easy to spot.

Walking inside, I was surprised there was none of the thick smoke or oily smell typical of a regular BBQ place. The interior was cozy yet stylish, and the tables were spaced comfortably apart, making it a great fit for an after-work gathering or a date.

What we ordered: aged pork plus the aged kimchi and baek-kimchi side dishes
After sitting down and reading through the menu carefully, I finished my order: two servings of aged flower pork collar, one serving of aged pork belly, and rustic doenjang jjigae.

- Aged pork belly (1 serving)
- Rustic doenjang jjigae

As soon as I ordered, the table filled up with neatly arranged basic banchan. There were so many different side dishes that my chopsticks didn't get a moment's rest even before the meat arrived.

What especially impressed me among the banchan was the jang-aged kimchi and baek-kimchi. The baek-kimchi, refreshing and cleanly fermented without any off smell, cut right through the richness of the meat, and the jang-aged kimchi, bursting with deep umami, was fantastic whether grilled or eaten as is. You could really tell a lot of care went into every single side dish.

How good are the aged pork collar, pork belly and the grilling service?
Finally, the aged pork collar and belly I ordered arrived. Just looking at the vivid red color and the perfect marbling, you could instantly tell how high quality the raw meat was.

One of the biggest strengths of Sansol Sinsa Main Branch is the friendly grilling service from a dedicated grill staff member. A skilled employee grilled the meat directly to the perfect doneness, so I could enjoy the meal chatting comfortably with my companions without worrying about burning anything. Thanks to the downdraft ventilation system, the smoke got sucked away instantly too — it was pure comfort.

I picked up a well-cooked piece to taste, and personally, the flower pork collar was overwhelmingly delicious. Pork collar usually has a reputation for being dry, but Sansol's version, maybe because it's aged so well, burst with rich juices the moment I bit in — the texture was almost like biting into a soft beef tenderloin.

Next I tried the Sinsa pork belly, and the balance between the savory fat layer and the lean meat was the golden ratio, chewy yet growing more richly savory with every bite. Topping it with a crisp piece of baek-kimchi and the special sauce made it endlessly addictive — I couldn't stop eating it.

Rustic doenjang jjigae between bites of pork
The rustic doenjang jjigae at Sansol Sinsa Main Branch arrived with perfect timing right in the middle of the meat feast, and it was the finishing touch. The stew, bubbling away in its earthenware pot, was generously packed with tofu, zucchini, mushrooms, and more. Instead of tasting sharp or artificial, it had a savory, deep, and slightly spicy broth that made it feel like all the greasiness from the meat was being washed away. It was hearty enough to make you want to mix in a whole bowl of rice.

Final verdict and what to know before visiting Sansol Sinsa
From the friendly grilling service to the neat and tasty banchan, and above all the juicy, life-changing pork collar, this was a fully satisfying BBQ restaurant near Sinsa. If you're looking for a can't-miss Korean BBQ spot near Sinsa Station, I highly recommend paying a visit!
