Seocho Korean BBQ with staff grilling: Sansol Sinsa Main Branch
In short
Sansol Sinsa Main Branch is a Korean barbecue restaurant near Sinsa Station in Seocho, Seoul. I compared aged pork cuts in the ₩56,000 Signature Mountain Platter with a non-alcoholic highball and house sauce. Verdict: an easy pick for a Sinsa Station gathering when you want to focus on the meat, not the grill.

Today, I visited Sansol Sinsa Main Branch (산솔 신사본점), near Sinsa Station, where you can enjoy a relaxed meal without worrying about the smell of meat lingering on you.

The staff grill the meat for you, so you can just sit back and enjoy it-
Inside Sansol Sinsa Main Branch: atmosphere and seating

Inside, the atmosphere was comfortable and unfussy. The warm interior does not call for dressing up, so it looked great for a casual get-together with friends or even for sorting out lunch alone.

The tables were generously spaced too, so I could eat without being conscious of the table next to me! +) It is really spacious.

If you book ahead, they even have the banchan (Korean side dishes) set out before you arrive—such a thoughtful touch...

There were plenty of glasses ready at the table too, haha.
From the Signature Mountain Platter to lunch specials
Sansol Sinsa Main Branch had a varied menu. You order using the table kiosk-

Along with the ₩56,000 Signature Mountain Platter for 2–3 people, you can have fun choosing cuts individually for ₩17,000 per 150 g: aged pork neck, aged pork belly, aged kkodeulsal (springy pork cut), and aged giwatsal.

Signature dishes such as traditional maekjeok marinated rib barbecue and Korean beef brisket also caught my eye.
There are sides too, including minari soy-sauce yukhoe (seasoned raw beef), grilled mountain deodeok, and rustic steamed egg!! At lunchtime, they also offer specials such as fresh pork kimchi stew, a meat jjamppong ramen set, spicy pork bibimbap, and yukhoe bibimbap, so it seems like a good spot for lunch as well as dinner.

There was also a wide selection of drinks for dinner work gatherings or meetups.
The Signature Mountain Platter and staff grilling service
These are the three things I especially want to recommend this time!!
- Signature Mountain Platter (2–3 people), ₩56,000
- Lunch set (doenjang-jjigae + steamed rice)
- Non-alcoholic highball

I recommend the mountain platter set to first-time visitors because it lets you try several cuts at once: aged pork belly, aged pork neck, and aged kkodeulsal. Each cut has a clearly different texture and flavor, so comparing them as you eat is part of the fun.

The lunch set—doenjang-jjigae (soybean-paste stew) plus steamed rice—is a nice light option for lunch. If you leave a review, they provide the doenjang-jjigae and rice as a free service, making it an economical way to sort out a meal.

Best of all was the staff grilling service. No need to worry about controlling the heat—just sit comfortably and eat the perfectly cooked meat they bring you (hehe).

Ta-da, it is browning beautifully.

Everything was delicious—crisp outside and juicy inside—but classic pork belly really was the star, chewy yet tender. The kkodeulsal was thin and crisp too, so I kept reaching for it (zero off smell, 0.000%).

The omija non-alcoholic highball captured the flavor of a regular highball so well that I honestly would not have known it was alcohol-free. It is a great choice when alcohol feels like too much but you still want the mood. Its tanginess neatly cut through the richness of the meat, so I kept reaching for it. I highly, highly recommend writing a review and trying it!!!

For that I-know-my-food feeling, dip the meat in wasabi and Sansol Sinsa Main Branch's house sauce—pure bliss.

There is also a self-service bar inside where you can add more vegetables and sauces, so keep that in mind!!
Final thoughts for a Sinsa Station group meal
The staff were so kind, and what satisfied me most was being able to eat comfortably thanks to the grilling service. The range of cuts and well-rounded lunch-special selection were great too, so I am 100% willing to return for a dinner gathering or a weekday lunch >_< I do not think any friend or parent you bring along would say no. Highly recommended for anyone looking for Korean barbecue near Sinsa Station!
