Gangnam noodle restaurant with pork belly suyuk: Sammiri Makguksu
In short
Sammiri Makguksu is a house-made buckwheat noodle restaurant in Seocho, Seoul, a 7-minute walk from Sinsa Station Exit 4. On a weekday lunch I ate alone, ordering the sesame oil bibim makguksu (cold buckwheat noodles tossed in sesame oil) and whole pork belly suyuk (boiled pork), pouring in dongchimi radish broth as I went — the food arrived fast and the pork was tender with no gamy smell. Sammiri Makguksu is an easy pick for an office lunch or a meal on your own.

Sinsa Station pork belly suyuk spot | Sammiri Makguksu weekday lunch

My first impression walking in — so clean! The bright, cheerful lighting lifts your mood right away. White walls throughout paired with warm wood-toned furniture make for a really tidy, cozy interior.
What makes Sammiri Makguksu different?
Sammiri Makguksu started out as a humble noodle shop in Migeum, Bundang, back in 2019. Pulling their own noodles in a small kitchen, building up broth and seasoning recipes over the years — that experience is what became Sammiri Makguksu when they opened here in Seocho. 🤚 You can genuinely taste that history and effort in the makguksu.

The kitchen is nearly open-concept, which gave me the impression that the cooking space is hygienically managed. It's spotless and clean overall, so you can eat here with peace of mind.

Solo seats for eating alone
Great solo seats for eating alone. A lot of office workers come here for lunch, so even if you're by yourself, it's easy to grab a quick meal and go.

Why the noodles at Sammiri Makguksu taste so good
The owner is on-site at all times, personally overseeing everything from prep to cooking to taste-checking, right up to the moment each bowl goes out to a customer. That craftsman's belief that even the unseen steps matter, that they shape the final bowl 👏👏

Ordering sesame oil bibim makguksu and pork belly suyuk
Sammiri Makguksu's signature menu is "perilla oil makguksu" — a dish where you taste intense nuttiness alongside the deep umami of aged soy sauce. I was craving something a bit spicy, so I ordered the sesame oil bibim makguksu instead! A bibim (mixed, sauced) noodle dish tossed in a special seasoning sauce ♥️

Since a bowl of noodles alone might leave you a little hungry, they offer various side dishes here. Being a total meat person 🍖🍖, I ordered the whole pork belly suyuk (boiled pork), and it turned out to be a perfect match with the bibim makguksu.

Basic side dishes A bowl of well-fermented dongchimi (radish water kimchi) broth comes served separately too.

The food comes out fast. Speed is everything for lunch, right? No long wait — that's a big plus 👌

Can I really finish all this by myself? Look at how plump this suyuk is, everyone ♥️

That nutty perilla oil smell, unbelievable The suyuk fat is so chewy

As I mix it, I'm getting drunk on that perilla oil aroma Such chewy noodles Let's mix it up properly!

How is the pork belly suyuk — taste and portion size?
One bite of the suyuk and I was won over. No gamy pork smell whatsoever, genuinely well-boiled meat — tender and moist are the words that fit this suyuk perfectly 🩷🩷
I honestly think I could finish this alone! For women with smaller appetites, it's a generously large portion to eat solo, and for men with a big appetite, it's enough to leave you fully satisfied.

The noodles slide right down. Partway through, I poured in the dongchimi broth to eat alongside it.

Yes, this is the taste! I totally get why this place is popular around here. This isn't food made the easy way — you can feel the deep skill and, especially, the care that went into it. A carefully prepared meal, and I enjoyed every bit of it 👏👏
