Yatap chicken restaurant for group dinners: Jangjakkun spaghetti
In short
Jangjakkun Yatap Direct Branch is a Korean chicken restaurant near Yatap Station in Seongnam, Gyeonggi, where oak-fired whole chicken is served over nurungji (scorched rice) on a hot stone plate. Ordering the half-and-half nurungji chicken with added spaghetti noodles meant alternating between a spicy sauce and a creamy cheese sauce, and because the first floor grills the chicken while the second floor is the dining room, the smoke smell stays downstairs. With private rooms and plenty of 4-person tables, Jangjakkun Yatap suits work dinners and family gatherings, and it stays open through the 2026 Chuseok holiday.

Jangjakkun Yatap Direct Branch is a chicken-and-beer spot in Yatap known for oak-fired whole chicken served with nurungji (scorched rice). There are quite a few 4-person tables and even private rooms, so with a reservation it works well for group dinners or gatherings.

On a day I was craving chicken but wanted something a bit different from plain fried chicken, I headed to Jangjakkun Yatap Direct Branch! There were plenty of 4-person tables, which seemed great for friends or family meals. Plus there were private rooms, so I figured it'd be perfect for group dinners or gatherings with a reservation — writing this post to recommend it, haha!

I was curious about the idea of oak-fired chicken paired with nurungji, and after trying it, I found the way everything combined on one plate was really special!

1st floor for grilling, 2nd floor for dining
Jangjakkun Yatap Direct Branch has two floors. What I personally liked was that the roles were clearly split — the 1st floor is where the chicken gets grilled, while the actual dining happens on the 2nd floor, haha. Since the oak grilling is done in a separate area, I expected the whole place to reek of food smells, but the 2nd floor dining area surprisingly didn't smell much at all, which was a nice bonus.

Hours, Chuseok holiday service, and reservation perks
Jangjakkun Yatap Direct Branch is open daily from 16:30 to 24:00, with last order at 23:00! That makes it a good option from dinner through late-night drinks.
Also, booking through Naver Reservation lets you use a coupon and get a free beer!!! If you're planning to visit, I'd recommend checking the Naver reservation perks first instead of just walking in, haha.
One more thing worth checking — it's open as usual during the 2026 Chuseok holiday!!! A lot of restaurants close for the holidays, which narrows down options when families want to eat out, so knowing this place stays open makes planning a lot easier.

Adding spaghetti noodles to half-and-half nurungji chicken
What I ordered that day was the half-and-half nurungji chicken~ and I added spaghetti noodles to it, haha.

When the food first arrived, what caught my eye was the sheer visual of a big stone plate packed full!!

Spaghetti noodles were piled generously on top of the chicken, with corn sprinkled thickly in the center~ Two different sauces sat on either side, so I could enjoy contrasting flavors within a single dish — that made it extra special!

Sauce and salad came alongside, covering spicy, salty, and savory all at once, haha.
Salad, kimchi, and pickled radish also came out, perfect for cleansing the palate in between bites~

Wing skin paired with kimchi
I first scooped out some chicken onto my plate~ It was a wing piece, and the skin was cooked so perfectly that eating it with kimchi was truly a heavenly combo, haha.

Spicy sauce vs. cheese sauce, same noodles two different flavors
One side had a rich spicy sauce, the other a smooth creamy cheese-style sauce, and they worked really well together~ Mixing the noodles into the spicy side then moving over to the cheese side completely changed the mood, even though it was the same spaghetti noodles!!

The real highlight: nurungji under the stone plate
Above all, the nurungji layered underneath the chicken was the whole point of this dish!!! It was fantastically crispy~ The sauce and chicken drippings had naturally mixed in, so scooping it up with a spoon gave a texture that was moist yet savory~

Why I'd recommend this for group dinners and gatherings in Yatap
The half-and-half nurungji chicken I had that day wasn't a one-note dish — the sweet sauce, cream sauce, chicken, spaghetti noodles, nurungji, and cheese could all be eaten separately or mixed together!! If you're looking for a place in Yatap for dinner with a drink, or a Yatap spot with enough seating for a group, this place is worth considering for both the menu and the layout~
Since it stays open through the Chuseok holiday too, it's worth keeping in mind if you're looking for somewhere to eat out with family or friends over the holidays!! If you're thinking chicken for a Yatap meal, I'd recommend checking the Naver reservation perks before you go!!
