Namwirye Station shabu-shabu with private partitioned booths: Dadam

Today I'm sharing a visit to Dadam Shabu Shabu & Wolnamssam Wirye Branch in Wirye. I'd been craving warm vegetables for a while, and I also wanted to go somewhere I could pile on as much beef as I wanted, so I decided on Dadam Shabu Shabu.

Where is Dadam Shabu Shabu Wirye Branch, and where do you park?

Dadam Shabu Shabu & Wolnamssam Wirye Branch is located on the 3rd floor of the G&G Plaza building on Wiryegwangjang-ro, so you just take the elevator up. Parking is also free for 3 hours!

There's a pretty stream nearby too, so it'd be lovely for a light walk before or after eating. This was only my second time or so visiting the area near Wirye Station, and it seemed like a really nice place to live. Maybe that's why there were so many families dining at Dadam Shabu.

Opening hours and all-you-can-eat prices

The dining time limit is 2 hours total, and it's 21,900 won for weekday dinner/holidays and 17,900 won for lunch! For all-you-can-eat, that price feels really good.

Private partitioned booths and sofa seats

The seating at Dadam Shabu Shabu Wirye Branch is divided into somewhat private booths, which makes it a great spot for family gatherings. I think it would've been even nicer to sit by the window and enjoy the view outside!

The rest of the seats are set up sofa-style, which was really comfortable!

What is on the self-bar? Beef brisket and beef neck included

The self-bar has all kinds of vegetables and toppings, and since this place is also for wolnamssam (Vietnamese-style rice paper wraps), there were wolnamssam vegetables too. What made it even better was being able to freely grab as much beef brisket and beef neck as I wanted — these days some all-you-can-eat places actually charge extra for meat, haha.

After finishing the meal, there was everything set up to make porridge too — egg, seaweed flakes, rice — and even ice cream!! All ready to go.

Choosing the broth: half seafood, half spicy

Once you pick out the vegetables you want from the veggie corner, they fill your pot with broth for you like this. There are three broth flavors in total.

• Clear broth
• Seafood broth
• Spicy broth

I ordered half seafood and half spicy. There's no extra charge for ordering half-and-half! The seafood flavor is really strong, so if you love seafood, go with that. I really enjoyed the spicy broth, haha.

Four kinds of mushrooms plus meatballs and tofu

Being able to pile on as much of whatever vegetables I wanted was really great, haha. There were various types of mushrooms too — enoki, oyster, white wood ear, king oyster — and ingredients like meatballs and tofu, so it really felt as varied as a mala tang restaurant, haha. And whenever vegetables ran low, staff refilled them right away, so even with so many customers there was no inconvenience. If anything, it was even better because the vegetables kept getting refilled fresh!

Normally you're supposed to simmer the vegetables to make the broth first and then add the meat, but we couldn't wait, so we just threw everything in before it even started boiling, haha. Either way, as long as it tastes good, that's what matters~~ And it tasted really great.

Wolnamssam (Vietnamese wrap) sauces, noodle add-ins and the closing porridge

You can also refill wolnamssam as much as you like, and dipping sauces are set up at the self-bar so you can grab whichever one you want. The sauces are soy sauce seasoning, chili, and peanut sauce! I like the chili sauce best, haha.

Once everything's bubbling away, enjoy the vegetables and meat to your heart's content, then add in kalguksu (knife-cut noodles), mandu (dumplings), and various rice cakes as sari (add-ins) and eat it up properly~ And for the finish, I definitely recommend having the porridge.

Ice cream, affogato and coffee after the meal

Adults and kids alike, everyone really loved the ice cream machine, haha. I enjoyed it too~ In particular, the affogato — pulling an espresso shot over the ice cream — was super popular~~ You can also enjoy coffee after the meal!

Can you get Dadam shabu-shabu as takeout?

Dadam Shabu Shabu Wirye Branch also offers takeout, and since it's hard to keep every vegetable stocked at home, using this takeout service seems like a really good option!

For anyone living near Dadam Shabu, I definitely recommend trying the Dadam takeout!
