Dong Daegu café with spacious seats and waffles: Hands Coffee

After looking around Dongchon Resort with my husband, I took a short break at Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch (핸즈커피 동촌유원지점). We stopped in for warm tea and dessert, and it was fun to look around the spacious areas spread across the second through fourth floors.

Where is this Dongchon Resort café, and is parking available?

The address is 5-6 Hyodong-ro 6-gil, Dong-gu, Daegu. The original post listed the hours as 10:00–23:00 daily, open year-round. There was a parking lot in front of the café.

The building was large enough to stand out even from a distance. It was also conveniently located for stopping by after finishing a walk around Dongchon Resort.

What were the floor-by-floor seats and weekend atmosphere like?

What is the second-floor space with the entrance like?

The café entrance was on the second floor. When I went up, it had a clean, comfortable atmosphere, and the spacing between tables did not feel cramped. It also looked like a nice place to sit and talk with friends.

I ordered at the kiosk near the entrance. There were also goods on one side of the second floor to browse, and the tumbler prices felt reasonable.

What seating is available on the third and fourth floors?

The third floor had a slightly different atmosphere from the second, and the seating was roomy. There were tables for groups and long tables where people could sit side by side.

On the weekend I visited, I saw many guests with family or in groups. The seats were comfortable, and it was convenient that each floor had a restroom.

The fourth floor had larger tables and floor seating, while the rooftop had outdoor seating. With the space divided across several floors, it was relatively relaxed when I visited that weekend.

Are tea and meal options available besides coffee?

The menu was varied. It included drip coffee, espresso, Dutch coffee, and fresh fruit juice, and waffles were also available.

There were also brunch dishes, sandwiches, and salads, which looked suitable as a meal. That day, I chose tea and waffles.

At the time of my visit, there was also a notice about an event that gave one cookie for writing a receipt review. After ordering, I received a pager and waited briefly.

How were the omija tea, freshly squeezed lemon tea, and ice cream waffle?

I ordered both the omija tea (five-flavor berry tea) and freshly squeezed lemon tea hot. For dessert, I chose a waffle with vanilla and green tea ice cream.

The omija tea was tangy with a subtle sweetness. Its distinctive bright flavor went well with dessert. The freshly squeezed lemon tea had a clean, citrusy taste and was also fine to drink after a meal.

The ice cream waffle is something I order whenever I come to Hands Coffee. It came with cream and Häagen-Dazs ice cream on the waffle, and I could choose the ice cream flavors. This time, I chose vanilla and green tea and alternated between them.

The warm, crisp waffle paired well in temperature and texture with the smooth, cold ice cream.

It was good dipped in cream, and the waffle was tasty on its own as well. After a Dongchon Resort walk, it was a decent place to sit in a spacious spot and take a break with tea and dessert.
