Where Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch is and what parking is like

Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch has a really, really huge parking lot, so parking wasn't a worry at all. It felt like a great location for a family outing after visiting the Yangju or Uijeongbu area, coming here together for pork ribs.

There are also a lot of cafés nearby, so it seemed like a good idea to head straight to a café for dessert right after the meat.

Seating on both floors and the big room for family gatherings

Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch has 1st and 2nd floors, and overall there were really a lot of seats. The 1st floor is mainly 4-top tables, and while the 2nd floor also has 4-tops, there were also many wide tables good for 8 to 12 people sitting together.

There was also a large room that looked perfect for an elder's birthday or a family gathering — and in fact, while we were there for dinner, we could hear a birthday song coming from the room ^^ I could see why so many families come here.

Trouble with stairs? Ask for a 1st-floor table when you book

If you're looking for good Yangju restaurants, it's worth knowing you can easily book through Naver Reservation. If stairs to the 2nd floor are difficult, you can note that separately in the request field when reserving.

It seems like if you request in advance, they'll assign you a 1st-floor seat. If you're planning to visit with elderly family members, it's a good idea to leave a note when booking.

Manpo Galbi's Handon (Korean pork) galbi menu and prices

Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch's charcoal-grilled pork rib comes in two main types: Hanwoo fresh rib and Hanwoo handmade rib. Fresh rib is ordered in units of 2 servings, and apparently they use only rib no. 4, which has the best marbling and texture out of ribs 1 through 4. Price is ₩42,000 for 2 servings.

Hanwoo handmade rib uses 100% rib meat, marinated in a handmade sauce made with 7 kinds of fruits and vegetables to bring out its natural flavor — a proper handmade-sauce seasoned pork rib! Price was ₩19,000 per serving.

The 61,000 won order: 2 servings fresh galbi + 1 handmade galbi

We ordered Manpo Galbi's signature 2 servings of fresh rib and 1 serving of handmade rib. 3 servings total came to ₩61,000! We wanted to try both, so we ordered fresh rib and seasoned rib together.

Charcoal grill brought out blazing hot

Since we came for meat, of course the charcoal comes out first. The charcoal was completely glowing red-hot — just looking at it made me feel like the meat was going to cook up delicious. Not sure why, but staring at that glowing charcoal suddenly made me want an eye massage lol

Banchan with yukhoe (raw beef) and yukjeon (pan-fried beef)

I'd heard a lot of praise for Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch's basic side dishes, and as soon as the food came out, we understood exactly why.

Basic banchan spread including yukhoe and yukjeon

Getting yukhoe (raw beef tartare) and yukjeon (pan-fried beef) as basic banchan was already touching ㅠㅠ Beyond that, dishes like doraji (bellflower root) muchim and a garlic-chili-doenjang muchim(?) made it clear each side dish took real effort. We kept picking at the banchan one by one before the meat even arrived.

How the Handon fresh galbi looked on the grill

Finally, the fresh rib arrived! The visual alone was insane. Are there any other Yangju BBQ spots serving pork fresh rib that looks this good?!

They grilled it on the pan for us, and the meat closest to the bone was really, truly tender ㅠㅠ

Grilling fresh rib still attached to the bone

With fresh rib especially, the flavor seemed like it could really change depending on how you grill it, so I thought it'd be even better if staff shared grilling tips, or if there was a little guide on the table for how to grill it perfectly.

Marinated galbi that isn't just sweet

Next up, the Hanwoo handmade rib! It's marinated with 7 kinds of fruits and vegetables, and after tasting it, I understood why they call it 'handmade.'

When you hear 'seasoned rib,' you tend to think of something overly sweet or heavily seasoned, but here it wasn't too sweet at all — you could taste the fresh ingredients along with a healthy feel to the sauce. The rib itself was tender too, with a different charm from the fresh rib.

Free naengmyeon (cold noodles) to eat with the meat

And here's the part I personally loved about Manpo Galbi Yangju branch! Order meat, and you get 1 naengmyeon (cold noodles) per person.

Free naengmyeon provided with a meat order
No need to agonize over ordering yukhoe naengmyeon too~~

What was really great about this was not having to agonize over choosing between mul-naengmyeon (water noodles) and bibim-naengmyeon (mixed noodles) lol We each ordered one of each, according to our own tastes.

And it's not like the free naengmyeon came out half-baked either. It arrived topped with pear and cucumber, along with tasty broth and seasoning!

The portion was just right for enjoying alongside the meat — but this is usually the size restaurants sell as a full meal or dessert naengmyeon on its own, and here it's free!

After the meat: free coffee and bbeong ice cream

Once you're done eating and head to the counter, dessert is ready too. On the 1st floor, there's an ice cup station for the iced-coffee-year-round crowd, plus an americano and mix coffee machine to choose from depending on your taste.

On top of that, bbeong-seukeurim! It's a combo of ppeongtwigi (puffed rice snack) and ice cream, and it was a great sweet finish after the meat. Looked like the puffed rice snack was fried fresh in-store.

I thought it was so cool that there's a puffed rice snack machine right by the entrance haha

Is Manpo Galbi worth it for a family dinner in Yangju?

True to the meaning of its name, 'to give generously,' this is a place that gives generously with both food and care — a great spot when you want the whole family to gather for a hearty meat feast. If you're looking for a good Yangju BBQ restaurant, I recommend it for a family dinner out.
