Bucheon Korean restaurant with large parking: Gim Myeongju

In short

Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang Bucheon Main Branch is a Korean restaurant in Kkachiwool, Bucheon, Gyeonggi, with spacious parking and set Korean meals. We paired two Tteuranchae Bapsang sets with one borigulbi and loved the pot rice, cheonggukjang, and refillable side dishes. Verdict: a generous, welcoming meal worth revisiting.

A generous Korean set meal in Kkachiwool

As someone who loves Korean food, visiting all kinds of Korean set-meal restaurants is one of my happy moments! This time, I visited Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang Bucheon Main Branch, a place said to be famous in Kkachiwool, Bucheon. There were so many side dishes, and you could go back for more anytime; the cheonggukjang (fermented soybean stew) was so good too, and the borigulbi (dried yellow corvina) we had as the main was salty and nutty ♡ Here is my truly affectionate review of this wonderful Korean set-meal spot in Bucheon—I ate so well! ✔️

The approach to Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang felt like heading off on a trip, which put me in a good mood. The parking area was very spacious, so there was nothing to worry about. Even the bright blue sky was perfect ☀️

The interior was also incredibly spacious and pleasant! I did not take photos because there were other diners, but it had a wide, comfortable atmosphere that would easily suit group gatherings or company dinners. I spotted a hiking group that seemed to have just finished their hike, as well as couples like us, married couples, and families of all ages.

Ordering Tteuranchae Bapsang and borigulbi

Korean set-meal and à la carte menu

The basic Tteuranchae Bapsang is ₩13,000 per person. You can add à la carte dishes such as borigulbi, soy-marinated crab, charcoal-grilled pork ribs, spicy seasoned cockles, or grilled mackerel. You can also order set meals, but the two of us ordered Tteuranchae Bapsang x2 and borigulbi x1. The Korean set meal was plenty, just perfect!

The table next to us ordered the soy-marinated crab, and judging from reviews, it seems that is seriously delicious too? Next time, I want to try some of the other à la carte dishes as well.

Pot rice and a table set with 12 side dishes

About 15–20 minutes later, our Korean set meal arrived! As you can see, it came with freshly cooked pot rice, and the table was covered in side dishes.

There were 12 side dishes, plus cheonggukjang and pot rice! The seasoned vegetable dishes were especially good, so we went back for refills often. The fried eggplant was delicious, and the braised potatoes were absolute honey-level yum 🤍

Borigulbi with Boseong green tea

The borigulbi we chose as an à la carte dish came out wonderfully salty and delicious. And the fun thing was—

Boseong green tea served with borigulbi

They served Boseong green tea with it too, haha. Lots of people love the combination of rice mixed into green tea with borigulbi, right? It was so thoughtful that they served them together, and we enjoyed mixing it up.

Green-tea rice soup and borigulbi combination

The green-tea rice soup and borigulbi combination... I could see why it is famous! The fish was salty and nutty, while the green-tea broth was cool and refreshing, so they felt like they complemented each other perfectly. Koreans really know good food... 👍

Rich cheonggukjang and easy side-dish refills

Reviews kept calling this a great cheonggukjang spot, and it was true! The cheonggukjang was so substantial. The broth was rich, there were lots of ingredients, and it had a deep, savory yet soft flavor. I hereby appoint it a Kkachiwool favorite and a cheonggukjang favorite.

You could get side-dish refills right away like this. Since you can eat comfortably, we picked out and enjoyed all the dishes we liked. Especially those pickle(?) vegetables—not cucumbers, but delicious—and the braised potatoes, spinach, and doenjang-seasoned vegetables too... ♡ Rice and cheonggukjang were also available at the self-service bar, so big eaters will definitely leave full.

When you top warm, moist pot rice with seasoned vegetables, is this not basically the life of an immortal?! Since it is a place where you can eat so many different combinations, one whole bowl of rice disappeared in no time.

Making nurungji (scorched rice) and topping it with borigulbi made me feel warm and recharged. We ate deliciously right to the very end.

The table after finishing the Korean set meal

Every staff member was so kind, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was lovely at Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang Bucheon Main Branch. It was such a pleasant Bucheon restaurant that I very much want to revisit.
