Chodang-dong burger lunch after a Gyeongpo Lake run: Moana Burger

Today I'm bringing you a revisit review of Moana Burger, a handmade burger spot you absolutely shouldn't miss if you're in Gangneung!

Moana Burger has moved from Sacheon Beach to Chodang-dong

Moana Burger is a handmade burger restaurant that moved to 228-33 Nanseolheon-ro in Chodang-dong, Gangneung. It used to be over by Sacheon Beach, which had great ocean views but was a bit far, and the only seating was an outdoor terrace — a little inconvenient. Recently, though, it relocated to Chodang-dong, one of Gangneung's hottest spots!

Thanks to that, it's now much more accessible from Gyeongpodae and downtown Gangneung, and it's become the perfect Chodang-dong lunch stop to sprint to with a growling stomach after a refreshing lap around Gyeongpo Lake.

It's on the right side of the road heading from Gangneung High School toward Café Toetmaru.

Parking in Chodang-dong: Moana Burger's own lot

On weekends, Chodang-dong gets packed with tourists and parking can be brutal, but Moana Burger has its own dedicated parking lot, so you can visit without any parking stress.

The terrace vibe from the Sacheon Beach days was nice too, but the newly relocated space is really spacious and nicely done up inside, so you can enjoy delicious handmade burgers regardless of the weather.

The true mascot of Moana Burger! The owner's dog Yeoreum still greets every customer, and honestly, she steals the show — so gentle and sweet that just watching her was pure healing the whole time 🐶❤️

Moana Burger menu: every burger comes with fries

Moana Burger's menu is a tight, focused lineup centered on handmade burgers. There's no separate set menu, but every burger comes with fries included as standard. You can also order the burger alone without fries if you'd rather, so pick whichever suits you.

For drinks, you just pick whichever you like and grab it yourself from the fridge.

How the Moana Burger and Hawaiian Burger taste

A glossy bun, a patty brimming with juice, vegetables that look super fresh — I couldn't even guess how good this was going to be.

The fries are fluffy and salty in the best way too.

The Moana Burger is classic yet the balance of sauce, vegetables, and a juicy patty is fantastic. It's true to the basics while still delivering deep flavor.

The Hawaiian Burger throws a sweet-and-salty party in your mouth, with the sweetness of well-grilled pineapple against the savory, juicy patty.

Why Moana Burger's 100% beef patty isn't dry
