Sodam-dong Sejong sushi by the piece: egg and shrimp at Sushi Resto

I suddenly wanted sushi again, so I stopped by Sushi Resto Sejong Sodam Main Branch. It's located in Sodam-dong near Sejong City Hall, and the place was clean with a comfortable vibe — good for a date or a family meal out.

Inside Sushi Resto Sejong Sodam: white-and-wood interior and private rooms

Right from the entrance, the place feels sentimental and clean — white and wood tones.

The tables are spaced pretty generously, and there's even a separated room-like space, so it seemed comfortable to eat in.

Overall it's a calm atmosphere, good for a relaxed meal.

You order via the tablet at each table. Since I don't eat raw sushi, I picked out the à la carte pieces I wanted from the menu.

There's a whole section of à la carte sushi, so I loved being able to just order what I actually wanted to eat.

After ordering, I set aside a bit of pickled radish and ginger on the small dish at the table and got ready to eat while waiting.

The food came out faster than expected, and the à la carte pieces I ordered arrived neatly arranged together on one plate.

Sushi by the piece: egg, sweet shrimp, fried tofu and wagyu

I started with the egg sushi, which was sweet and soft.

It was exactly the egg sushi flavor I expected, so it was easy and pleasant to eat.

I also tried the sweet shrimp.

This too was exactly the sweet shrimp flavor you'd expect. Dipped in wasabi soy sauce, it's delicious.

The fried tofu sushi felt a bit less moist than I expected, but it was fine with a mild, plain flavor. Just so-so, I'd say??

The slightly charred surface is, if anything, the one point of interest.

And the wagyu sushi I was looking forward to!!!!

I'd personally had some expectations when ordering it, but it turned out to not really be my thing. (Should've ordered two egg sushi instead...)

So for me, egg or sweet shrimp were better than the wagyu.

The salmon was the best of the bunch. Overall, none of the flavors were especially standout, but they were all solid, easy-to-eat sushi.

How were the mini udon and the icy mini soba?

Sushi alone felt like it wasn't quite enough, so I also ordered mini udon and mini soba.

The mini udon noodles had a good chewy texture and the broth was solid, pairing well with the sushi. The mini soba that came with the recommended sushi set had a cool broth with bits of ice in it, which was great. Eating it between bites of sushi felt refreshing on the palate. Being mini-sized, it wasn't too much on top of the sushi either.

Is Sushi Resto worth it for sushi in Sodam-dong, Sejong?

Finishing off with the mini udon made it a satisfying simple meal. Since I don't eat raw sushi, I appreciated being able to pick à la carte pieces like egg or sweet shrimp sushi that I actually wanted. Personally, the egg sushi and sweet shrimp were solidly delicious, and the mini soba with its icy broth was refreshing too. It's a good spot near Sejong City Hall when you want a clean, simple sushi meal. I'd recommend it for a date, a family meal, or anyone looking for a sushi place in Sodam-dong!
