Where is Coffee Dripper? Near Chodang Tofu Village in Gangneung

While planning my Gangneung trip, I was looking for a Chodang-dong café where I could relax with a cup of coffee, and that's how I ended up at Coffee Dripper. It's near Chodang Tofu Village, so it's a good stop after a meal, and it works well as a stop on a Gangneung café tour route.

Inside Coffee Dripper: a roastery café with wood tones and a terrace

Coffee Dripper is a roastery café that uses beans it roasts itself, so if you love coffee, it's worth a visit at least once. Looking at other visitors' reviews, there really are a lot of mentions of the coffee taste and the in-house roasting.

Walking in, the space was neatly decorated around wood tones, giving off a warm overall atmosphere. The seating felt spacious, and there's also a terrace area, so on nice-weather days it's great to enjoy your coffee outdoors.

Also, parking can be a surprisingly stressful thing to figure out when looking for a café in Chodang-dong, but Coffee Dripper has its own parking lot, which made visiting by car easy.

What to order at Coffee Dripper: dripper latte, cone choco latte, homemade patbingsu

The coffee menu was also varied — from the dripper blend brewed with their own roasted beans to americano and café latte, there was plenty to pick from depending on your taste.

If you're looking for a signature item, the dripper latte is worth a look. It's Coffee Dripper's signature drink made with white chocolate and almond cream, giving it a sweet, nutty flavor that's a bit different from a regular latte. There's also the cone choco latte, a visually fun menu item, so if you like taking photos, it's worth ordering at least once.

If you want to enjoy dessert leisurely alongside your coffee, the homemade patbingsu (shaved ice dessert) is also good. It's made with milk ice topped with domestic red beans and nutty misugaru (roasted grain powder), making it a good dish to share with your coffee.

Fitting Coffee Dripper into a Gangneung trip

If you've just eaten Chodang sundubu (tofu) and feel it's a shame to head straight to the next attraction, resting at Coffee Dripper for a bit is a good option. Chodang-dong itself is a great area for combining good restaurants and cafés into your trip, so it's easy to fit into your Gangneung travel route.
