Where is QooQoo Chuncheon Branch?

QooQoo Chuncheon Branch is a sushi buffet on the basement floor of the Chuncheon CGV. So many buffet restaurants have opened and closed in Chuncheon, but QooQoo has been running well for a long time — it's a go-to spot near the CGV in Toegye-dong, Chuncheon. I actually came here a lot as a kid, so it feels like a nostalgic favorite to me, and since it had been years since my last visit, I was really looking forward to it haha 😊

It's on the basement floor of the Chuncheon CGV, but heads up, the escalator wasn't working, so keep that in mind when you visit! You can park at the CGV parking lot or somewhere in the alleys nearby.

QooQoo Chuncheon prices and discounts

The colorful banners hit you as soon as you come down. This Chuncheon sushi buffet had all kinds of perks, from birthday and military discounts to Toss Pay/Face Pay discounts. QooQoo Chuncheon is an all-you-can-eat sushi spot with about 120 premium menu items.

Opening hours and the weekday evening wait

Hours are 11:30–21:30 with last order at 20:30, so plan your visit around that. Also, they're closed this Chuseok on Wednesday, September 25!

And through September there's an autumn discount event knocking ₩2,000 off, so if you're planning a visit, going in September means you can enjoy QooQoo at an even better price 😄

I went on a weekday evening and there wasn't a wait, but tables were nearly full even by 6:30! On weekends there seems to be a wait — you can register on Catch Table, and there are waiting seats set up in front of the store too.

If you use the CGV parking lot, you get 3 hours free, so make sure to register your car and pre-validate before you leave after your meal~~! These days QooQoo also sells mugs, coffee beans, herbal tea, and kombucha, who knew?!

Playroom and seating: why it works for a meal with kids

The store has plenty of seats inside, so it'd make a good choice for a group dinner or gathering in Toegye-dong, Chuncheon. It even has a playroom, so it's great for meals with family and kids too! The tables that overlook the playroom are spacious, so you can eat comfortably while keeping an eye on the little ones :) There were disposable aprons on the wall near the playroom entrance too.

There's also more seating behind the salad corner! It's not a fully enclosed room with doors, but the seats are separated by partial walls that give a bit of privacy, so it'd work well for a Chuncheon get-together or company dinner where your group wants some space to themselves.

The restroom is outside the store, but there's a separate sink area right there too, which was handy for a quick hand wash.

What's at the salad corner

Cutlery, tissues, wet wipes and gloves are self-serve, located next to the salad corner.

Olive salad, mixed vegetables, pickled ginger, rakkyo, pickled peppers, mango dressing, blueberry jam, cherry berry jam, cranberries, sliced almonds, cornflakes, yogurt, spicy perilla oil buckwheat noodles, corn salad, mixed nuts, mini caprese, jellyfish salad, grilled mushroom salad, yukhoe (raw beef), kkotgeori (seasoned cabbage), perilla oil salmon rigatoni cold pasta, sweet pumpkin salad, citrus prune salad, imitation crab sticks and more — even though it's a sushi buffet, there were tons of salad options to get your appetite going as a first plate.

What sushi, rolls and seafood are on the buffet?

Since this is an all-you-can-eat Chuncheon sushi buffet, there's a huge variety of sushi and rolls so you can eat as much of your favorites as you like — that's the strength of QooQoo!

Rolls and gunkan (battleship sushi)

Flying fish roe maki, sea squirt gunkan, tuna salad gunkan, Uljin red crab wasabi gunkan, woo samgyeop pickled radish gunkan, bulgogi mayo gunkan, taco wasabi gunkan, double cheese salmon roll, egg roll, tuna roll, shrimp roll, volcano roll, chicken roll, tonkatsu roll, bacon roll, furikake roll, California roll, and more.

Sushi selection

Gwangyang sirloin sushi, beef sushi, bacon sushi, egg sushi, tteokgalbi sushi, spam sushi, smoked duck sushi, grilled smoked salmon sushi, crab sushi, eel sushi, squid sushi, upside-down cheese shrimp sushi, fried shrimp sushi, fried tofu sushi, live fish and aged kimchi sushi, raw salmon sushi, flounder sushi, octopus sushi, smoked salmon sushi, conch sushi, raw shrimp sushi, scallop sushi, soy-marinated shrimp sushi, webfoot octopus sushi, and more.

Note that the sushi doesn't come with wasabi already inside, so you can add wasabi to your own taste! There's also a range of seafood dishes like soy-marinated shrimp, salmon soy sauce, mulhoe (cold raw fish soup), squid strips, whelk, seasoned crab, smoked salmon, octopus, and swordfish.

Noodle corner: seven kinds

Next to the sushi corner is a noodle station with 7 options: naengmyeon, pho, udon, miso soup, jjamppong, jjajang, and cold buckwheat noodles. There are so many menu items you can genuinely eat until you're stuffed at this all-you-can-eat Chuncheon favorite ~! 🐷

Hot food and meat corner

There's also a big hot food spread: pizza, garlic butter shrimp, bite-size steak, dongpo pork belly, mushroom quesadilla, woo samgyeop stir-fried bean sprouts, scorched rice sweet and sour pork, Kooa Chicken, gomtang, pumpkin porridge, yaki udon, pasta, steamed oysters and more. I think one reason QooQoo is so popular is that even though it's a sushi buffet, there's so much beyond sushi — it's less stressful to bring someone who doesn't eat sushi since there's still plenty for them to eat!

There was a kebab station across the way where you could assemble your own, and plenty of meat too — pork ribs, lamb chops, smoked pork belly, sausages, smoked salmon. And the en croute soup stood out visually right away! It's a dish with a pastry crust served over cream soup haha.

Dessert corner

The dessert corner that closes out the buffet is just as elaborate. There's a chocolate fountain kids love, plus assorted breads, cakes, fruit, slushies, juice, soft-serve ice cream, and several kinds of gelato and marble ice cream — it almost felt like an ice cream buffet on its own. You could also make your own bingsu (shaved ice) and waffles!

How did the food taste?

It had been so long since I'd come to QooQoo that I got a little too excited loading up my plates haha. It's a sushi buffet, so I loaded one plate mostly with sushi and then went for hot food too, and I was already full lol.

The corn pancake pizza had that soft, sweet pancake flavor that kids would love. The dongpo pork belly, which I'd been wanting to try ever since seeing it on Culinary Class Wars, was tender with a sauce that wasn't too strong, and the smoked salmon was soft and not too salty, so both were delicious :)

There were too many kinds of sushi to try them all, but personally my favorites were the raw salmon sushi, the Gwangyang sirloin sushi, and the beef sushi!

The shrimp weren't the thin, deflated kind — they were plump and tasty! The buttery garlic-glazed cooked shrimp was good, and the soy-marinated shrimp wasn't too salty or sweet either 😋

Even full, I figured I should try the noodle corner too, so I grabbed a jjamppong. It was a mini size, but the broth was thick and the toppings were generous, so I liked it! Next time I'll have to properly work through the noodle menu too..!

Banana split with marble ice cream

Being able to eat as much marble ice cream as you want is a real perk of QooQoo. When I was a kid it was too expensive to eat freely~! Then and now, the ultimate marble ice cream is the banana split 💛🤎 The first bite is super cold, and the chocolate, banana and strawberry flavors melt together sweetly in your mouth — so good 🫶🏻✨

There were also tons of gelato and sorbet flavors, so I scooped a bunch of different ones — even the first scoop was properly frozen and cold lol. Even as a buffet dessert, it had a nice chewy texture! But the sweetness was pretty strong, so personally I preferred the marble ice cream haha.
