Back at the accommodation, I opened the box of egg tarts I'd packed from Doris Patisserie. The moment I saw the crisp-looking tarts in the colorful custom box, I couldn't not take pictures. The box lid had instructions for the best way to eat them and how to store leftovers, so it looked like I could refrigerate or freeze any I didn't finish!

I started with the basic original egg tart. The combination of the flaky, crisp layered pastry and the soft, fluffy custard filling made me want to applaud! The sweetness wasn't overdone, and the savory egg flavor really came through, making it easy to keep eating.

The cream cheese tart and walnut tart — Doris Patisserie's own special items — were also a treat. The chewy texture and nuttiness added to the fun of picking your favorite. They're great as a snack when you're peckish during your trip, or as a gift afterward, and I immediately understood why everyone recommends this place as Sokcho Central Market food!
