Gwangalli sashimi restaurant ₩28,000 lunch set vs course: Geumrang
In short
Geumrang Hoetjip Gwangalli Main Branch is a sashimi restaurant on the 6th floor of Marine Rich in Gwangalli, Suyeong, Busan, with a Gwangan Bridge view. The writer ordered the subyeon-hansang (waterside full course) and ate every dish, from assorted seafood and nakji tangtangi (chopped live octopus) to grilled abalone, sashimi, roe rice and spicy fish stew, with enough food to fill the whole table. Big eaters should take the waterside course at Geumrang Hoetjip, while lighter eaters are better off with the 28,000 won lunch special.

There are times you crave sushi. And there are times you crave hoe (raw sliced fish)! Haha
Rizy visited Geumrang Hoetjip, a sashimi restaurant in Gwangalli, with her mom, just the two of them. Busan locals don't really go out of their way to see Gwangalli beach — they pick a restaurant near Gwangalli and just happen to see the beach while they're at it.

Where is Geumrang Hoetjip in Gwangalli, and what are the hours and parking?
Geumrang Hoetjip is on the 6th floor of a building at 17-5 Gwangan Beach-ro 344beon-gil, Suyeong-gu, Busan. It's open daily from 11:30 to 22:30, with break time from 15:00 to 16:00, last order at 21:00, and 2 hours of parking supported at the nearby public lot.
Geumrang Hoetjip is on the 6th floor. Take the elevator up! The view of Gwangalli beach and Gwangan Bridge is gorgeous. Now let's order!

There's a variety of menu items on the kiosk, and there's also a big menu board on the wall.

What comes with the waterside full course at Geumrang Hoetjip?
Rizy ordered the suybeon-hansang (waterside full course). Given the price, a lot of food comes out.
Dishes that came with the suybeon-hansang
- Assorted seafood
- Boiled octopus
- Nakji tangtangi (chopped live octopus)
- Salmon salad
- Corn cheese
- Steamed egg
- Mulhoe makguksu (cold raw fish noodles)
- Soy sauce shrimp
- Braised kimchi
- Butter-grilled scallops
- Grilled abalone
- Sashimi
- Rice for making sushi
- Sea cucumber intestines
- Egg roe rice
- Braised flounder
- Fried dishes
- Grilled merou (grouper)
Here's what the basic one-person table setting looks like.

Assorted seafood platter and boiled octopus
The assorted seafood came out first. Whelk, shrimp, sea cucumber, sea squirt, wasabi octopus — all so fresh and delicious!

Boiled octopus came along with it.

While you're eating the seafood, live octopus and salmon salad arrive. Seafood-and-octopus party, love it!

Grilled abalone, corn cheese, steamed egg and cold-broth buckwheat noodles
Next up are the grilled abalone, corn cheese, and steamed egg. The table is getting full.

Even the end of the table has the cold raw fish noodles now — the portions are enormous.

There's still more food coming. More dishes arrived right away — soy sauce shrimp, braised kimchi, and butter-grilled scallops.

I feel like the table needs to be sturdy at this point.

The grilled abalone was soft and delicious too. There are two parts of abalone you need to remove — but when I checked, they were already removed, so you can just pop it in your mouth. Hehe.

The main sashimi plate and sea cucumber innards
Now the star of today's meal, the sashimi, arrived. It was thickly sliced with a good chewy texture.

Sea cucumber intestines came together with a small amount of rice for making sushi.

We didn't forget the cold noodles that came out first, either — ate every bite. It's included in the price, so since it's delicious, let's finish it without leaving any!

Finishing with roe rice and spicy fish stew
Now the very last round. Egg roe rice and spicy fish stew. These are the final dishes that come together — braised flounder, fried dishes, and grilled merou.

This is the egg roe rice — it's hot, so be careful.

So much fish roe! Mix it evenly.

The spicy fish stew needs to be boiling hot. Check out that bubbling, simmering pot.

Waterside course or 28,000 won lunch special: which should you order?
I ate through the entire menu like it was my last meal tomorrow... haha
Big eaters will love the full course! The seafood and sashimi were fresh and everything was delicious. For lighter eaters, I'd recommend the lunch special instead. The lunch special is priced at ₩28,000. Dongbaekjeon payment is accepted. It was such a happy, happy meal. If you're heading to Gwangalli for a gathering or craving sashimi, I recommend Geumrang Hoetjip.
