What kind of bar is Bisyoku Gwangan Branch?

Bisyoku Gwangan Branch is a Korean beef yakiniku restaurant on Gwangan Haebyeon-ro 344beon-gil in Suyeong-gu, Busan — a great spot to enjoy meat and drinks together. I'd been here once before with my boyfriend for an anniversary and it was so good I always wanted to come back, so when this Superchart campaign came up I ran right over 🏃‍♀️

(This is a review from a previous self-funded visit.)

Bisyoku Gwangan Branch: exterior and interior mood

The exterior of Bisyoku Gwangan already has a strong Japanese feel. Peeking inside, the Japanese-style lanterns and wood interior make it feel like you've stepped into a trip to Japan, even though you're right in the middle of Gwangalli!?

From a distance the building looks pretty large — ✔️ the restaurant also has private rooms and group seating, so it works for everything from small get-togethers to bigger group gatherings.

There are waiting chairs outside too

Bisyoku is laid out in a U-shape with a courtyard right in the middle — and that's exactly where the snow falls! Makes for a really pretty photo spot, right?

What comes with a dachi counter seat

Coming in from the courtyard, turning left past the central counter, there's this dachi seating with 4-top tables further inside. We sat side by side at the dachi counter, and this was the basic setup they gave us — neat little side dishes and wet wipes!

Oishi Set ₩99,000: sangroseu premium loin and special sirloin

Today's main dish, the Oishi Set 💗 It's ₩99,000 and comes with sangroseu 100g and special sirloin 300g, plus a small portion of grilled vegetables.

First, the staff grilled the sangroseu and placed it on our individual plates. They recommended dipping the first bite in salt!

The sangroseu was so tender it just melted in my mouth, with the juices practically running out — that kind of taste, haha.

Next up was the special sirloin 💗 Honestly this was so good last time too?? And this time, again... this is the taste!!! I said as I ate it lol — seriously so good.

Drinks menu: Jim Beam highball ₩8,000 and Suntory draft ₩9,000

Bisyoku also has quite a variety of drinks on offer.

Besides the regular menu, they gave us a separate drinks menu! Perfect for anyone who wants to enjoy meat and alcohol together, haha. Honestly, the whole vibe of the place just makes you want a drink.

So we ordered right away ~ depending on our preferences, we got a Jim Beam highball (₩8,000) and a Suntory draft beer (₩9,000). Strangely, whenever I come here I crave draft beer, and it's actually delicious too. (Also if you look closely, the ice cube on top of the highball is shaped like Mickey!!!!)

By the way, apparently they've been recognized as a top Suntory highball spot.

Korean beef doenjang jjigae ₩10,000 with blue crab in the broth

Bisyoku Gwangan's Korean beef doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) is ₩10,000, and a bowl of rice is ₩1,000. After eating meat for a while, we ordered the beef doenjang jjigae to move on to rice.

There was a lot of meat inside, and crab too, which gave the broth a really refreshing quality. It's not a deeply rich doenjang flavor, but it was tasty in its own way and we enjoyed it.

By the way, to call a staff member you press this cute pig's belly, and it makes an oink sound lol

How much does dinner for two cost at Bisyoku Gwangan Branch?

  • Oishi Set ₩99,000
  • Suntory draft beer ₩9,000
  • Jim Beam highball ₩8,000
  • Korean beef doenjang jjigae ₩10,000
  • Rice ₩1,000
  • 👉🏻 Total for two: ₩127,000

The bubble snow event in the courtyard

Another important thing about Bisyoku is the space where it snows ⭐️ At set times, they blast bubble snow, so you can feel that snowy mood all year round. (Especially rare here in Busan of all places...)

The bgm they played fit the mood perfectly too. It felt less like a yakiniku restaurant and more like a pretty izakaya, or like stepping into a scene from a Japanese anime.

Honestly, I'm usually not a fan of fake snow because it looks too fake(?), and I figured the snow event would just be a so-so gimmick — but seeing it in person, it was so pretty. Especially with the lighting added, the atmosphere was out of this world 🙌🏻

I think it hit different because the music, the setting, and the atmosphere all came together so well right after eating great food, haha.

Is Bisyoku Gwangan Branch worth it? Final verdict

  • A unique atmosphere like a scene from a Japanese anime
  • An unusual space with snow falling year-round
  • A place to enjoy delicious Korean beef yakiniku
  • Recommended for dates, anniversaries, and group gatherings
  • Great to pair with a wide variety of drinks

If you're looking for a differently-vibed yakiniku restaurant in Gwangalli, you have to check this place out!!! The food is so good and the atmosphere is insane 🙌🏻
