In short
Cafe Dongi Daemyeong Station Branch is a Korean restaurant in Nam-gu, Daegu, serving set meals and nuruk-aged tangsuyuk. We visited with our 52-day-old baby and appreciated the high chair, hand-washing area, children’s meal, and generous service bar. A comfortable, filling choice for a family Korean meal.

It’s day 52 since Yui was born! While looking for a restaurant to take Yui to over the weekend, I found this Korean restaurant near Apsan that’s great to visit with a baby!

Cafe Dongi Daemyeong Station Branch, near Daemyeong Station
Cafe Dongi Daemyeong Station Branch (카페동이 대명역점) is about a four-minute walk from Exit 1 of Daemyeong Station :)

We came by car and parked in front of the restaurant :D If there’s no space, you can park on a nearby side street!

There was refreshing hovenia tea ready outside, haha. The service already looked great~

The young-radish bibimbap set is only ₩7,900 for a meal! I’ll have to come back and try it next time +_+
A comfortable interior and service bar, even with a baby
The interior was bright with lots of seats, so it looked great for family gatherings too~ There are long tables as well, so dining alone is possible!
What was especially nice was a separate hand-washing area inside the restaurant, with hair ties and toothpicks ready too! I’m always conscious of hygiene with a baby, so having a dedicated place to wash hands was so satisfying..!!
There were aprons and baby high chairs too. And a service bar, haha.

Five-grain rice, seaweed, and eggs too?! You can refill them endlessly if you run out—what incredible service, right? There were barley snacks for dessert too! Owner, are you making any profit?
They said they send out ₩30,000 meal vouchers through a sales drawing for the survey event! Give the event a try~

A menu with children’s meals too

Prices range from ₩7,900 to ₩17,800—such great value, isn’t it?

There was a separate children’s meal too. It’s a nutritious meal at an affordable price, so it’s nice to come with kids without worrying about what to order :)

You can get free lemonade through the Naver receipt-review event~! Joining the Dongi Membership gives you a free tangsuyuk coupon too, so I recommend signing up :)

Charcoal-grilled spicy pork set meal and nuruk-aged tangsuyuk

Everything we ordered arrived.

The charcoal-grilled spicy pork set meal with its single-person brazier came with soybean-paste stew, dessert, and five-grain rice~ There were perfect side dishes to go with it too: dressed peppers, burdock root, and dried radish strips!
Spicy stir-fried pork—was this really the pork I know? It tasted completely different from what I make at home..

There was plenty of meat, and the seasoning had really soaked into it, so it was delicious!! I’m so curious about the recipe +_+

The soybean-paste stew had that lovely deep, savory flavor! It wasn’t overly strong, so it reminded me of home cooking, and it was a perfect match with the meat.

Finishing with omija tea made my mouth feel refreshed, haha.
Here comes the nuruk-aged tangsuyuk (sweet-and-sour fried pork)!! Since the sauce comes separately, it works whether you dip it or pour it on, haha.
The tangsuyuk pieces were large, so we cut them with scissors for easier eating! It was a small serving, but it looked just right for two people. You can tell it looks like it was fried in clean oil, right?
They gave us three sauces, too? Topping it with wasabi and whole-grain mustard sauce gave it a spicy kick that worked so well~
Putting dressed peppers on top of the tangsuyuk is the secret move!!! You have to try it. Cafe Dongi.. is a tangsuyuk gemㅜㅜ

The rice cakes that came with it were a special treat too~ How good are they dipped in the sauce???

A generously portioned kimchi stew set meal
Look at the amount of kimchi stew! Is this really one serving? It was packed with meat, tofu, kimchi, and vegetables, with nothing held back, haha.
With five-grain rice and dried-radish and burdock-root side dishes, there wasn’t a moment for my mouth to get bored, haha.

My husband and I happily scraped every last bit clean again today, haha.

There was so much tangsuyuk that we packed up the leftovers too. The staff were so kind as well~ We came outside and finished with refreshing hovenia tea, haha.
If you’re looking for a Korean restaurant that’s great to visit with a child, I recommend Cafe Dongi Daemyeong Station Branch, a favorite near Apsan!
