In short

Bueokgan Restaurant, Shinsegae Simon Busan Premium Outlets is a Western restaurant in Gijang, Busan. After shopping, I ordered basil pesto cream pasta, napa cabbage Caesar salad, and truffle mushroom pizza separately, and the three dishes made an especially satisfying combination. Verdict: Choose the truffle mushroom pizza if you love mushrooms and truffle aroma.

Bueokgan Restaurant, Shinsegae Simon Busan Premium Outlets

This was my second visit to Shinsegae Simon Busan Premium Outlets for shopping. The weather was pleasantly cool for the first time in a while, so I happily walked around a lot—and by dinner, I was absolutely starving. I had been craving a proper pasta meal, so I stopped by Bueokgan Restaurant, Shinsegae Simon Busan Premium Outlets. It is ideally located along the Shinsegae Premium Outlets shopping route, so it would be great to take care of a meal while you are there shopping.

What about the location and parking?

Hours are 10:30–20:30 Monday through Thursday, with last orders at 20:00. Friday through Sunday, it is open 10:30–21:00, with last orders at 20:30. Parking is available.

An outdoor location on the NORTH side

Bueokgan Restaurant is inside Shinsegae Simon Busan Premium Outlets. It is on the NORTH side, rather than in the SOUTH building where the food court is. It is easy to find right beside the wine shop building. There is a New Balance store above Bueokgan Restaurant, too, for reference. Since the newly opened SOUTH side has many food outlets clustered together, I think it is nice to shop along the route on the original NORTH side and stop in here.

A cozy interior even inside the outlet

From the exterior, I thought it had a slightly different atmosphere from a typical outlet restaurant. The entrance felt warm and neat, which I liked. Once inside, the warm wood-focused interior and lighting went together so beautifully that it felt much cozier than I expected.

The restaurant had a European-style feel, and it was more spacious than expected. The tables were also generously spaced, so I could eat comfortably. Although it is a Western restaurant, there was group seating and a variety of table arrangements, so I think it would be nice for families. The seats were clean overall and the atmosphere was lovely, making it a good date spot, too.

Since it is in an outlet, there are probably many family visitors. Bueokgan Restaurant has baby chairs, so those visiting with a baby can come without feeling burdened.

How did I choose the menu?

Bueokgan Restaurant's menu was more varied than I expected, so I spent quite a while deciding. There were so many can’t-go-wrong Western dishes—pasta, pizza, risotto, lasagna, gnocchi, and more. They had set menus, and I considered ordering one, but the dishes I especially wanted were not included because the set selections were fixed, so I decided to order à la carte. The sets looked well put together, so they would be a good choice for a family visit or a couple's date.

It looked like coffee was available to order, too. I had already had coffee elsewhere that day, but given the shopping route, it seemed like a comfortable and pleasant place to enjoy a coffee as well.

The three dishes I ordered à la carte

I ordered the basil pesto cream pasta, napa cabbage Caesar salad, and truffle mushroom pizza. The set menu was very appealing too, but I knew exactly what I wanted to eat, so I ordered these separately.

Rich and creamy basil pesto cream pasta

Bueokgan Restaurant's signature basil pesto cream pasta was my husband's pick, and it was even more delicious than expected. He said it ranked among the best pastas he had ever had. What a great pasta place in Gijang! The cream sauce coated the noodles generously, making it rich and intense. The nutty, smooth flavor was even better with the poached egg. What my husband especially loved was the noodle texture. Sometimes pasta leaves him feeling indigested, but these were neither too soft nor undercooked, with just the right bite.

The napa cabbage Caesar salad my husband ranked first

I had tried napa cabbage Caesar salad a few times elsewhere, but it was my husband's first time having it, and he found it so fascinating. This is also one of Bueokgan Restaurant's best dishes. Usually, the versions I had eaten were closer to a nutty sesame-sauce flavor, but this one was different. The roasted cabbage had a gentle sweetness, while the dressing was savory and slightly tangy, which was unusual but delicious. I thought it paired wonderfully with Western food. My husband said the slightly sour dressing reminded him of the first bite of baekkimchi (white kimchi). He kept marveling at it and ranked it number one among everything we ate that day.

My number one pick: truffle mushroom pizza

The truffle mushroom pizza was my choice. I love mushrooms so much, but I could not find a separate review of this dish. I hesitated, then craved it so badly that I ordered it—and I really hope you order this one. It is so delicious. It was my number one dish of the day. The pizza dough was chewy and delicious, and it was topped generously with mushrooms, giving it their distinct fragrant flavor. I had never tried a pizza with truffle aroma that blooms the moment you take a bite and oyster mushrooms; their chewy, meat-like texture worked so well. This was not a pizza where tomato sauce takes over; it was one to enjoy for its flavor and aroma, and I personally loved it. I feel like I found a new great pizza place in Gijang.

The balance of the dishes we ordered this time was better than expected, so we ended the meal very satisfied. The rich, smooth pasta, flavor-packed pizza, and napa cabbage salad that refreshed the palate in between made such a good combination. I visited Bueokgan Restaurant, Shinsegae Simon Busan Premium Outlets without huge expectations because I wanted Western food after shopping at Busan Shinsegae Premium Outlets, but I was much more satisfied than I expected and enjoyed it so much. If you are looking for a great Western restaurant in Gijang, a restaurant at Busan Shinsegae Outlets, or a restaurant at Busan Premium Outlets, I recommend visiting Bueokgan Restaurant, Shinsegae Simon Busan Premium Outlets.
