As the weather turned chilly, my hair started puffing up and getting frizzy. I couldn't take it anymore, so I worked up the courage to get my hair done near home. After a lot of deliberation on where to go, I picked a place with really good reviews. It's known as one of the famous hair salons in Ok-jeong — Whur Ok-jeong Branch.

I was greeted warmly and kindly right when I arrived! At Whur Ok-jeong Branch there are no assistants, so the designer handles everything from start to finish 1:1, which makes it feel more private. Usually assistants or staff handle things like rolling the perm or neutralizing, but here the designer takes full responsibility from start to finish :)

I safely stored my bag and coat and sat down comfortably. I booked a volume magic perm that day. My previous length was a bit past the shoulders, and I cut it right into a bob.

For reference, this was my second visit to Whur — the first time I saw the director, and this time Designer Haneul did my hair, and honestly I was really, really satisfied both times! Women's hair is genuinely expensive to get done and it's hard to find something you love, and I'm a total 'salon nomad' who never sticks with one place — but I've settled on Whur.

Hair condition and consultation before the treatment

This is my original hair condition before the treatment — dry and messy. The ends were sticking out and frizzy, making it really hard to manage. She carefully checked my hair condition and kindly consulted me on what style would suit me. The direction I wanted and the direction she suggested lined up perfectly, so I think the result came out even more polished.

A 3-step clinic is included in the price

Even just with the cut, I already felt lighter and neater. One great thing about Whur Ok-jeong Branch — unlike other places, the 3-step clinic is included in the price! So looking at the final result, it's not actually expensive. If nourishing treatment and clinic alone cost about ₩60,000 elsewhere, Whur ends up cheaper.

They also brought me a cold drink, so I sipped it and waited comfortably.

She's a gifted designer who carefully smooths out even the little curly flyaways one by one. I could already feel my hair getting lighter, and I was full of anticipation. From the cut to the clinic perm, everything was done meticulously, and we chatted along the way, so it was a really enjoyable time :)

I got a volume magic perm for the first time in almost a year, and everyone said the moment they saw it that it turned out great, and that the bob suits me so much better.

Even the bangs and root volume were done

She curled the bangs too, which made everything look even more carefully finished. She also brought the root volume back to life, so even after washing and roughly blow-drying, the volume comes back — and when drying, I just dry the opposite direction and I'm done. Simple.

Given prices these days, the quality and satisfaction for the price were really high. It's even better that the clinic treatment is included in the price. Why? There wasn't a single extra charge! Even after coming home and just roughly drying it, the shape stayed exactly the same — so convenient.

I made a reservation and visited on a weekday, and everyone else seemed to be visiting by reservation too. The overall vibe of the salon felt like a café, so I felt comfortable the whole time I was there.

Mornings are so much easier now

Even my husband said I look much cleaner and softer. The biggest upside is that on busy mornings, roughly blow-drying my hair is all the styling I need. From the process to the result, there was honestly nothing to be unhappy about.
