I'd been craving beef galbi for a while, so I asked the kids if they wanted to come eat out with us, but they said, "You two go ahead, mom and dad~~" ..T_T Fine, let's find a really good place so they'll be jealous later! And we did find a genuinely delicious spot, haha. Here's my post on Jeongwon Galbi Gimpo Main Branch, where we happily worked through a set of three beef cuts — idong galbi, beef galbisal, and raw flower galbi!

Jeongwon Galbi is about a 5-minute drive from Guraedong Station in Gimpo. There are lots of large restaurants and cafés nearby too, so it was easy to find.
A café-like exterior and the garden trampoline

Wow, this is a meat restaurant but it looks as pretty as a café! We arrived a bit before 6pm and the sunset made the scenery so beautiful I couldn't stop taking photos, haha.

The garden is spacious, so it's nice to sit outside for a bit after eating, and there's a large trampoline — kids who come here practically refuse to go home, haha. When my own kids were little they used to throw tantrums insisting we only go to restaurants with trampolines like this, haha.
Jeongwon Galbi Gimpo Main Branch has a large parking lot behind the building, so we could eat comfortably with zero parking stress.
Partitioned tables, the private room and the self-serve bar

Right when you walk in, there's a coffee machine for adults on the right and a claw machine for kids on the left. Coffee runs about ₩1,500–2,500, and beyond plain coffee there's a wide selection like chocolate latte and vanilla latte!

The main hall has 4–6 person tables, all divided by partitions, so we never had to worry about other tables and could eat comfortably.

Facing the counter there are fully private rooms, perfect for group dinners or large family gatherings! The place is bigger than it looks, and I liked how well-separated the spaces are so guests can eat comfortably.

There's also a self-serve bar in the middle of the restaurant. They set up the basic side dishes once, and after that if you need more pickled onions, wrap vegetables, or sauces, you can just help yourself at the self-serve bar!
What comes on the 79,000-won beef combo platter?

We came craving beef, and idong galbi, raw flower galbi, and beef galbisal all looked delicious.. haha. So we decided on the beef combo platter that lets you try all three! Such a perfect set menu for someone with decision paralysis, haha. And since my husband loves squid and the seasoned whole grilled squid looked good, we ordered that too, haha.
- Beef combo platter: ₩79,000 (idong galbi 300g + beef galbisal 300g + raw flower galbi 250g)
- Seasoned whole grilled squid: ₩10,900
- 2 zero-sugar colas: ₩4,000
- Total order: ₩93,900

They're also running a Naver receipt review event, so it's worth taking advantage of for a little extra!
Side dishes, three kinds of salt and the full table setting

Not long after ordering, the food started coming out quickly, and they told us the side dishes in the square bowls are all refillable except for the seasoned crab. Honestly, I love any meat restaurant that serves seasoned crab as a basic side dish, haha.
And the meat came out together — can you see that color? Haha. From left, it's idong galbi, beef galbisal, and raw flower galbi, and all three looked so good I was glad we'd gone with the set.

For sauces, from left there's wasabi salt, curry salt, and plain salt, so you can eat according to your taste!
Beef galbisal, 300g
We start off light with the beef galbisal, which you can pop into your mouth in one bite.

The beef galbisal isn't very thick, so it cooked up delicious even with a light grill! The moment it hit my mouth, that savory, tender beef flavor made me let out an involuntary "mmm~~". We laid the whole platter down and, between dipping a few in salt and wrapping a few, it disappeared in no time..
Raw flower galbi, 250g
To keep the flow going, we put the flower galbi on while still eating the galbisal. The flower galbi is quite a bit thicker, so it needs more cooking time than the galbisal.

Once the meat is cooked enough, you remove the rib bone, cut it up, cook it a bit more, wrap it, and — one big bite! Because of the thickness we cooked it longer, which made it feel a little more done than the galbisal — I guess I need to get better at timing each cut, haha.
Idong galbi, 300g
Finally, time for the idong galbi! I personally love seasoned galbi, so this was the one I was most excited about, haha.

After lightly grilling both sides, cutting it into pieces, and cooking it through with no pink left, it was seriously amazing!! Of the three beef cuts, my top pick was the idong galbi, and my husband's top pick was the beef galbisal, haha.
Grilling the seasoned whole squid on the meat grill
The seasoned whole grilled squid we'd added on also arrived, and since the sauce is soy-based, it was piled with a dark, almost ink-like sauce, haha.

They told us to grill it once on the meat grill, so after finishing all the meat we put it on and grilled it — it was genuinely delicious! Chewy squid texture, that salty-savory sauce, and the smoky charcoal flavor on top of it all meant I think I finished a whole squid in about 10 seconds? Haha. My husband had to drive so we only ordered cola, but I found myself craving beer so hard — (I sulk if I drink alone though, haha).

Eating without a second thought, I looked up at some point and the tables next to us had completely filled up. Honestly, these separated seats where you don't even notice who's next to you are really great, haha.
Is Jeongwon Galbi worth it for a dinner for two?
It had been so long since we'd had a satisfying, belly-full beef meal like this, and it put us in such a good mood. But then I saw an elementary-school kid at the next table happily chowing down on meat and thought of our own kids.. T_T haha. This time they didn't want to come eat out with us, so we left the little ones behind, but next time I definitely want to bring them along for beef. If you're looking for a meat restaurant near Guraedong Station in Gimpo with great meat and comfortable seating, I recommend Jeongwon Galbi~

There are also menu items discounted for takeout, so next time I'll have to try getting some of those to go too!
