The green garden and free parking lot at Jeongwon Galbi Gimpo
I had errands in Gimpo one day and went with a friend. After finishing up, we were debating what to eat for lunch and decided to go all in on meat. Since we'd come all the way to Gimpo, I wanted something a bit special, so we headed to Jeongwon Galbi, a beef galbi restaurant in Gimpo that's great for family dining.

What I liked most was the spacious parking. Parking matters when you're driving to a restaurant, and there's a large lot behind the building that made things easy.
Parking with plenty of room made a comfortable first impression right away. A great Gimpo spot even for new drivers!!

Even before parking and heading in, there was a space that caught my eye — the lush outdoor garden right in front of the restaurant.
Grass covered the ground, with tables and shaded spots scattered around, giving it a different feel from a typical BBQ restaurant.
Coming for meat but finding such a relaxed garden space out front put me in a good mood before I'd even eaten.
It seemed even better for visiting with kids. There's an outdoor play area with something like a trampoline, so the whole family could relax while dining. A charcoal BBQ restaurant in Gimpo that's great for family dining — Jeongwon Galbi!!
Private rooms and group seating inside Jeongwon Galbi Gimpo
Inside, Jeongwon Galbi Gimpo Main Branch has everything from 4-person tables to group seating to separate private rooms. We walked through the garden and into the restaurant.
Once inside, the space felt even bigger than it looked from outside. Overall a spacious, clean, family-friendly charcoal BBQ restaurant.

With 4-person tables, group seating for larger parties, and separate private rooms, the layout suits all kinds of gatherings!!
There's plenty of space between tables, and partitions around them mean that even regular tables — not just the rooms — let you focus more on your meal.
The private room tucked in one corner is perfect for family meals, company dinners, or any important gathering!!
Even the private rooms range from 4-person tables to group size, which made me think it would work well for a family visit or a meal with parents.
Comfortable yet clean — the space felt well laid-out for families to eat comfortably.
And another space caught my eye — a play room and arcade machines for kids! There's a play area outside too, but having one indoors as well is great for parents who visit with children — a truly family-friendly spot.

There's also a self-bar where you can help yourself to extra lettuce wraps, vegetables, and basic side dishes.
The lettuce wraps looked fresh even just looking at them.
Seeing the neatly arranged vegetables and side dishes gave a sense of the restaurant's cleanliness, which put me in a good mood before the meal even started.
What comes with the weekday lunch idong galbi set?
The idong galbi set comes with idong galbi (short rib) 300g plus dessert naengmyeon (cold noodles) or rice, and doenjang stew — it's the lunch menu at Jeongwon Galbi Gimpo Main Branch, available weekdays before 3pm for two or more. We chose mul-naengmyeon (cold noodles in broth) for dessert, along with rice and doenjang stew.

We took our seats and looked over the menu. Between beef galbi, pork galbi, and various charcoal BBQ options, after some thought we settled on the idong galbi set since it was lunchtime.
The perfect portion for a satisfying but not-too-heavy lunch visit. And of course, steamed egg to go with the meat — we added that too!!
They were also running a takeout discount on the seasoned Jeongwon grilled meat. There's a receipt review event too, so I'd recommend joining it for marshmallows, dried fish snacks, or drinks!!
After ordering, the charcoal came out, and soon the idong galbi and basic side dishes were set on the table.
At a BBQ restaurant, the main meat matters, but when the side dishes are clean and neat, it puts you in a good mood right from the start!

The side dishes at Jeongwon Galbi, a charcoal BBQ restaurant in Gimpo that's great for family dining, felt clean and neat overall!!

The spread was well suited to eating alongside the meat, good for pairing bite by bite with the idong galbi.

The seasoned crab was especially good — tasty on its own, but even better lightly grilled over the charcoal.
There was even raw egg sauce, and dipping the idong galbi into it made it soft, nutty and really delicious.
How the 300g idong galbi tastes off the charcoal grill
Jeongwon Galbi's idong galbi is said to use the tender sirloin-flap cut with a special seasoning. Today's main dish looked appetizing even before it hit the charcoal. Thick-cut galbi meat glistened with seasoning that had soaked in, making it look delicious just sitting there.

The moment the idong galbi hit the charcoal grill, I was so happy.
As the seasoned galbi cooked over the charcoal, a subtle smoky aroma filled the air — happiness just watching it!!

They flipped the meat at just the right moment and cut it into bite-sized pieces, grilling it to a nice golden brown.
Charcoal BBQ is all about the fun of grilling it yourself!!
That nutty aroma rising off the grill as the meat cooked, mixed with the charcoal scent.

We set the well-grilled meat aside on one edge of the grill and had a relaxed lunch with a friend.
Taking a bite of the well-cooked meat, the savory depth of the seasoning combined with the idong galbi's signature tenderness was so delicious. The texture especially — tender, not chewy — was the best!!

Grilling it over charcoal seemed to add a subtle smoky note to the seasoning's flavor — delicious plain, delicious dipped in egg sauce, and delicious with lettuce wraps too.
We grabbed more lettuce wraps from the self-bar.
Fresh lettuce wrap with a piece of idong galbi!! A fantastic lunch. The idong galbi at Jeongwon Galbi, a charcoal BBQ restaurant in Gimpo that's great for family dining, wasn't over-seasoned, which made it perfect for kids too.
River snail doenjang stew and cold naengmyeon to finish
The dessert menu we ordered — rice, doenjang stew, and mul-naengmyeon — was really good too.
The doenjang stew had a savory broth with mussels inside, giving it a satisfying chewy texture with every bite. The mussels' distinctive chewiness paired well with the savory doenjang flavor, and it went great with rice. After all that meat, a spoonful of warm, savory doenjang stew was so comforting!!

Cool broth with chewy noodles — mul-naengmyeon!! The noodles topped with a bit of ice looked so refreshing.
It felt like the noodles cleaned the palate after the meat, and once again the combination of charcoal galbi and naengmyeon didn't disappoint.
Eating a well-grilled piece of idong galbi together with the noodles was especially good — the savory-sweet meat flavor paired beautifully with the naengmyeon's cool, clean taste.
Meat first, noodles to finish — perfect!
Steamed egg, the side dish we added
The steamed egg we ordered as an extra was really generous too. It came in a serving big enough to scoop with a ladle, and it had a fluffy, soft texture through and through. One bite, and it wasn't too intense — just mild and clean.
While eating meat, your palate can get a bit heavy from the seasoning or charcoal smoke, so pairing it with the mild steamed egg here and there worked really well.
What I liked most was the soft texture. If you like steamed egg, you have to order it. They even have a kids' steamed egg, making it a great side for children too!!
Takeout discounts and the dessert corner after the meal
We came here after having errands in Gimpo and looking for a lunch spot with a friend, and the space turned out to be more spacious than expected, with plenty set up for families — a great pick for family dining in Gimpo.
On our way out after the meal, there was a 50% takeout discount on seasoned grilled meat and a buy-3-get-1 discount on galbitang takeout, so getting some to go seemed like a great idea too.

There was an adorable miniature display, and the owner even treated us to coffee candy.

There was also tea and coffee available to drink after the meal.

The staff were friendly, the beef was delicious, and with a self-bar and even an after-meal dessert corner, I was in a good mood the entire time I was there.

If you're looking for a spacious charcoal BBQ restaurant in Gimpo to eat comfortably with family, somewhere to bring your parents, a BBQ place that's kid-friendly, or a spot for a family gathering or company dinner with a group — I recommend Jeongwon Galbi, a charcoal BBQ restaurant in Gimpo that's great for family dining!!
