Lamb chop steak set at Polia, a Gimpo Unyang-dong restaurant

I wanted a good meal with my kid in Gimpo, so this time we went to Restaurant Polia in Unyang-dong. We ordered everything from steak to pasta to wood-fired pizza and the three of us ate really well. What stood out most was our 33-month-old, who's been in a serious picky-eating slump lately — she ate so well that day that mom and dad were honestly the ones surprised.

This visit was on Monday, September 14, 2026, for dinner with 2 adults and 1 child (33 months), three of us total, and we stayed for about an hour.

Parking at Restaurant Polia: is it free?

Restaurant Polia has parking directly in front of the restaurant. We parked right there too. Free parking meant no worrying about parking fees while visiting with a kid, which was great.

If the spots right in front happen to be full, there's signage directing you to nearby public parking lots. Three are listed — Naraeul Park, Wild Bird Ecology Park, and Gimpo Hangang Ecology Park lots — check the photo for locations! As public lots, they offer 1 hour free parking.

When you go out to eat with a kid, taste matters, but easy parking matters too, doesn't it? On that front, this visit was hassle-free.

What the room at Restaurant Polia feels like for a family dinner

The overall vibe at Restaurant Polia was calm and warm. It wasn't a loud, bustling place, and the tables were spaced comfortably enough that eating with a kid wasn't a problem.

It felt fine for a date too, and also worked well for a family meal like ours. It's less suited to a noisy group dinner and more suited to a relaxed meal on a date or family outing. The lighting had a warm, almost Christmas-like sparkle to it, which was nice.

Visiting Restaurant Polia with a 33-month-old

Restaurant Polia had a high chair ready and gave us separate tableware for the kid. We haven't used a high chair in a while, so we just sat her in a regular chair.

Doldam actually prefers a regular chair now since a high chair can't move around haha. There's no separate kids' menu, but everything we ordered was fine to share with her.

We didn't order anything spicy to begin with, and shared the lamb chop steak, carbonara pasta, and gorgonzola pizza together.

Best of all, she was too busy eating to get bored haha. We ate for about an hour and left right when she'd had a great, happy meal.

The garlic bread that starts the meal at Restaurant Polia

After we sat down, garlic bread came out as a pre-meal bread. I didn't expect much since it's just a starter, but Polia's garlic bread was soft, not hard at all, and genuinely delicious. Our 33-month-old ate it well too — they gave us 3 pieces and she ate 2 of them. I had to tell her to stop since there was more good stuff coming.....🤣

Lamb chop steak set, 40,500 won

One of our orders was the lamb chop steak set. It comes with a salad, which paired well with the steak. The price: ₩40,500!

Lamb chops can be a bit chewy for a kid, but Doldam really ate it well. 👍 She's been in a picky-eating slump lately, indifferent to most things, but that day she ate better than ever haha. And for the adults, it was delicious, no question.

Carbonara, 19,900 won: thick and creamy

For pasta we ordered carbonara. Price: ₩19,900! The rich cream sauce coated the noodles perfectly and it was genuinely delicious to our taste. The sauce wasn't watery — it was thick and rich, exactly my style. Of everything I ate that day, the carbonara was my favorite.

Our 33-month-old shared it too, and since it wasn't spicy, it worked well for us to split. Noodles are always a cheat code for kids, right? She ate it up 👍

Wood-fired gorgonzola pizza, 22,500 won

And then the gorgonzola pizza! Price: ₩22,500. This was the most popular menu item of the day by kid standards haha. The cheese was savory and, likely thanks to the wood-fired oven, it was excellent.

I tried it too and could really taste the savory cheese, plus that distinct wood-fired-pizza flavor came through nicely. The whole reason we came here was because our kid asked for gorgonzola pizza, and we really ate a lot of it, very happily 🤣 If you're visiting with a kid, I'd recommend the gorgonzola pizza!

Drinks and dessert at Restaurant Polia

For drinks we ordered orange juice and grapefruit juice, ₩5,000 each, ₩10,000 total for the two. Our kid surprisingly loved the grapefruit juice and finished almost all of it during the meal, so the orange juice was mostly untouched — we asked to have it packed to go and kept drinking it on the way home!

Once we finished the meal, dessert was included too. It was tiramisu cake, and since I'm a total sucker for sweets, this was also delicious. Coffee and mint tea were available for drinks, so we ordered two, and it came after the plates were cleared, so we got to enjoy it on a clean table, unhurried.

Service from the owner and staff

The food was great, but I also appreciated how kind the staff and owner at Restaurant Polia were that day. Some restaurants make you feel a bit self-conscious visiting with a kid, but here there was none of that discomfort — we could eat comfortably. Food also came out pretty quickly, which was great with a kid in tow. Our 33-month-old was too busy eating the whole meal to get bored haha.

A restaurant that worked well for a Gimpo family meal

Visiting in person with my kid this time, I found it's a good spot not just for dates but for family dinners too. There's a high chair, they provide kids' tableware, and above all, there was a good variety of dishes we could all eat together.

Being able to order steak, pasta, and pizza all at once was a plus too, since you don't have to compromise between adult and kid tastes. It works well visiting with a kid like we did, and it's a fine atmosphere for a couple's meal as well. The calm vibe especially suits anyone who doesn't love noisy, crowded places.

Would I go back to Restaurant Polia?

What I liked most about this visit was, above all, that the food was genuinely delicious. The lamb chop steak was good, the carbonara was good, the gorgonzola pizza was good, and even the pre-meal garlic bread and dessert were good haha.

But what I was most satisfied with was how our picky-eating 33-month-old ate better than ever. So I'd say my return-visit intent is 100%. If you're in Gimpo craving steak, pasta, or wood-fired pizza and looking for a restaurant you can bring your kid to, I think I'll be back at Restaurant Polia. This time it was just the three of us, but next time I'd like to come with more family and order a wider spread :)

They also said you can earn visit stamps for orders over ₩30,000 — 3 visits gets you soda, 6 gets you a green salad, and 9 gets you a margherita pizza, so I'm going to aim for 9 haha 🤣 Gimpo Pay is accepted too, worth noting!

There's also a wild bird ecology park near Restaurant Polia, so if you come for lunch, it's worth taking a walk afterward!
