I was looking for somewhere to eat lunch near Seoul Botanic Park and ended up at Tteudon Magok Branch!
I thought it was just a pork cutlet place you eat and leave, but when I actually went, there was a self-serve bar with bread, soup, tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), udon broth, and even ice cream, all free to help yourself to — so the meal turned out way more filling than I expected.
It also had a kids' room and baby chairs, which made it feel like a solid choice near Seoul Botanic Park for families :)
What is the weekday lunch discount at Tteudon Magok Branch?

The first thing I noticed at the entrance was the weekday lunch discount!
On weekdays from 10:30 to 14:00, all pork cutlet menus get ₩1,000 off, so it's worth keeping in mind if you're visiting for weekday lunch.
Kids' room and baby chairs: is Tteudon Magok good with children?

There was a separate kids' room set up on one side of the restaurant.
The whole floor was covered in mats, with dolls, toys, and a game console, so it looked great for families dining with children.

There were also several baby chairs ready to go, which made it look convenient for visiting with a young child.
Since Seoul Botanic Park itself gets a lot of family visitors, this kind of setup seems like a big plus for anyone looking for a place to eat after a visit with kids!
What we ordered at Tteudon Magok: 28,800 won for two

You order using the tablet at each table.
We ordered
- 🥩 Tteudon cheese cutlet ₩13,900
- 🍝 Shrimp tomato pasta ₩12,900
These two dishes. The menu and prices matched what's currently listed online.
For the cheese cutlet, we asked for the sauce on the side, and with a drink added, our total that day came to ₩28,800!
Inside the self-serve bar: bread, soup, tteokbokki and ice cream
Before the food came out, we checked out the self-serve bar first, and honestly, this was one of my favorite things about Tteudon Magok Branch.
Bread, soup, tteokbokki, ice cream — all available to help yourself!

The basic side dishes were pickled radish, kkakdugi (radish kimchi), and pickles, and you could also serve yourself udon broth.

And that's not all — you could also help yourself to as much tteokbokki, soup, and morning bread as you wanted.
Sprinkling a little pepper on the warm soup and spreading strawberry jam on the morning bread before the cutlet even arrived gave me total old-school Western-style cutlet restaurant vibes.
Having tteokbokki as part of the self-serve bar isn't common, so I especially liked that.

And after finishing the meal, there was even ice cream!
With chocolate, yogurt, strawberry, green tea and more flavors available, we didn't need to buy dessert separately.
If you only look at the main menu prices it might seem ordinary, but factoring in this self-serve bar, it was a pretty satisfying package overall.

I especially liked being able to snack on a bit of tteokbokki, bread, or soup while waiting for the food.
But be warned — if the self-serve bar is too good and you eat too much of it early on, you might end up full by the time the cutlet actually arrives, so pace yourself... haha
How does the 13,900-won Tteudon cheese cutlet taste?
The Tteudon cheese cutlet finally arrived!

It came with a big cutlet, rice, salad, and corn salad, and I asked for the sauce on the side.
The cutlet was bigger than I expected, and the breading looked really crispy.

Cutting it in half, there was so much cheese packed inside.
The cheese stretched between the layers of meat, and since they use natural cheese, you could really taste that savory, smooth cheese flavor.
The outer breading was crispy while the meat inside was moist, and it paired really well with the cheese.
The cheese wasn't just a moderate amount either — you could really taste its presence with every bite, so anyone who loves cheese pork cutlet would be satisfied with this one!
Is the 12,900-won shrimp tomato pasta worth adding?
Just having the cutlet felt a bit lacking, so we also ordered the shrimp tomato pasta

It had shrimp and broccoli in it, and there was plenty of tomato sauce, so it was easy to get the noodles well coated in sauce.
Since the cutlet was rich and heavy from all the cheese, eating some of the tomato pasta in between made for a good combo.
So if two people are visiting, instead of getting two cutlets, I'd recommend ordering different dishes — like one cheese cutlet plus one pasta — and sharing.

And don't just spread jam on the self-serve bar morning bread — try this instead!
Split the bread in half, stuff it with salad and cheese cutlet, and you've got an instant cheese pork cutlet burger lol
The crispy cutlet, cheese, and soft morning bread went together better than I expected — really tasty.
