B2 parking, kiosk-order shabu kalguksu in Munhyeon, Busan: Yunujae
In short
Yunujae Munhyeon Shabu Kalguksu is a shabu-shabu and kalguksu (hand-cut noodle soup) restaurant near Munhyeon Crossroads in Nam-gu, Busan. On a day of pouring monsoon rain the writer parked on B2 of the building's underground lot, walked in at noon to a full house, and ate the red broth set for two as a course: shabu-shabu, house-made kalguksu noodles, then fried rice with a raw egg stirred in. The chewy house-made noodles are what keep the writer coming back to Yunujae.

It's monsoon season, so I've been craving hot noodle soup lately. Whenever I want kalguksu (hand-cut noodle soup) in Munhyeon-dong, I end up at Yunujae Munhyeon Shabu Kalguksu! This wasn't my first time here, actually — I'm such a fan that I've paid out of my own pocket to visit many times before :)
You can eat your way through shabu-shabu, kalguksu, and fried rice and come out full and satisfied, so I naturally keep coming back. (Especially since the kalguksu noodles are house-made — a genuinely, genuinely great restaurant!!) If you're looking for a good Munhyeon-dong restaurant, I'd confidently recommend this one 🤍

Where is Yunujae Munhyeon Shabu Kalguksu, and where do you park?
This Busan Munhyeon-dong favorite is located near Munhyeon Crossroads! It's close to Munhyeon Station, and I drove there myself — the underground parking lot had plenty of spacious spots, which I loved. Parking support is generous too!

Park on B2 and it's easy to find once you come out to the main road :) It was pouring rain that day, but thanks to the building's parking lot, I got there dry and comfortable!
Full by noon: inside a Munhyeon-dong local favorite

It opens at 11am, and we arrived around noon — already full!! Everyone who came in after us had to wait. I feel this every time I come — this place is seriously a Munhyeon local favorite haha. Everyone comes out in their slippers, that's how much of a neighborhood institution it is.
Why Yunujae counts as a Busan kalguksu spot: noodles made in-house

Right up front, you can watch the owner pulling the house-made kalguksu noodles. This is exactly why Yunujae Munhyeon Shabu Kalguksu is one of the best kalguksu spots in Busan! House-made noodles can't possibly be bad!!!!
Trust levels through the roof haha

There's also a self-serve corner where you can get more broth and kimchi. The first round is brought to you, and after that just take as much as you want. The kimchi and kkakdugi (diced radish kimchi) here are excellent, so definitely try them!

Ordering is easy — just use the kiosk at your table. The menu is really simple, let me show you the menu board.
What's in the menu: one shabu kalguksu set covers everything

The shabu kalguksu set for one person includes sirloin, vegetables and mushrooms, house-made kalguksu noodles, and fried rice — all in one. In this age of high prices, this value is basically a eureka moment..!!
You just need to pick red or white broth. I really want to try the seafood pancake too, but the portions are so generous I still haven't managed it — if you've had it, let me know how it was! haha

We ordered red broth for two ~ we came to eat something filling before hitting the water, but this turns out to be an entire meal in itself.. haha This place is seriously amazing every single time I come.

How to eat it: induction heat and the soy sauce 2 : wasabi 1 dip
Spoons, sauce, and water cups are all set up neatly on the side. Once the broth starts boiling, put all the meat in at once, and once it's boiling again, lower the induction heat and eat! They've even written out the golden ratio for the sauce — soy sauce 2, wasabi 1 haha. Just trust it and follow the instructions, and all you have to do is enjoy.

Shabu-shabu made following the owner's own tip — dipping it once in sauce and once with kimchi, it's seriously so, so good..!! Simmering the vegetables and meat together in the broth makes the soup rich yet clean, genuinely delicious :) A real broth-lover's, meat-lover's, kimchi-lover's spot..
The meat is tender and the vegetables are generous, so eating them together works perfectly. Especially the longer you eat, the more the broth deepens as the flavors of the meat and vegetables seep in! There's a reason I've revisited this Munhyeon-dong favorite so many times 🤍

Extra sirloin first, then the house-made kalguksu noodles go in
After adding extra sirloin to the shabu-shabu, I threw the kalguksu noodles straight in.

Just an absolutely stunning sight to look at.. Honestly there are a lot more shabu kalguksu spots these days. But the reason I stick with Yunujae Munhyeon Shabu Kalguksu is the house-made kalguksu noodles that set it apart!!! Maybe because they're house-made, the noodles are noticeably chewy and springy, giving them a distinct texture from the very first bite.
After enjoying the shabu-shabu, dropping the kalguksu into that richly infused broth is truly a special treat 🤍 The noodles soak up the broth well but don't get mushy, so they stay delicious all the way to the last bite! Shabu-shabu is great, but personally it's this kalguksu that keeps popping into my head and bringing me back haha. You absolutely have to try it!!!

The finish: fried rice with a raw egg stirred through
Leaving a bit of meat, we drained off all the broth for the final K-dessert: fried rice...... Honestly the fried rice is really good too... I know saying everything is delicious sounds unconvincing, but you really have to come try it yourself haha.

Added one raw egg and mixed it right into the fried rice. Even though we were already full from the shabu-shabu and kalguksu, there's no way I'm skipping the fried rice course 🤍ㅠㅠhaha. It's basically a full-course pig-out, haha. Frying it in that deeply infused broth makes it savory, moist, and packed with umami, so my hand kept reaching for more. My friend said she was full but just couldn't stop eating.. hahahaha
Personally, I think Yunujae Munhyeon Shabu Kalguksu isn't complete until you go shabu-shabu → house-made kalguksu → fried rice! Once you try that final fried rice, you'll understand why I keep coming back to this Munhyeon-dong restaurant with my own money :) Thanks to that, I finished a truly great-value meal.
Verdict: who should eat at Yunujae Munhyeon Shabu Kalguksu
This wasn't a one-time-lucky visit — I've genuinely revisited many times on my own dime, which is why I can recommend Yunujae Munhyeon Shabu Kalguksu with even more confidence 🤍 From the shabu-shabu to the chewy house-made kalguksu to the final fried rice, everything is delicious without exception, so I leave satisfied every single time haha
- Anyone looking for one of the best kalguksu spots in Busan
- Anyone who needs a filling Munhyeon-dong restaurant
- Anyone craving a hot meal on a rainy day without worrying about parking
I'll keep going back on my own dime whenever the craving hits :) ♡ I'll see you again soon, owner.. haha
