I was looking for somewhere to have meat for dinner in Beomil-dong, and ended up at Hanuso Dwitgogi Beomil Branch.

The area around Beomil Station has a long stretch of shops connecting Busanjin Market, Pyeonghwa Market, Jayu Market and Jobang-ap, so there's no shortage of places to eat. This time I wanted somewhere accessible where I could try a variety of beef cuts.

After eating there, I found it easy on the wallet while still letting you enjoy good beef, and with a group room on hand, it seemed like a solid pick for family meals or gatherings too.

  • Hanwoo dwitgogi ₩14,900
  • Galbi dwitgogi ₩21,900

  • Hanwoo skirt steak ₩32,900

It's not the case that everything under 'hanwoo' comes at a high price — I liked that there's a range of cuts starting from more affordable options. It's a good lineup for mixing and matching depending on group size or budget.

This time I ordered the hanwoo dwitgogi 3-set. At ₩14,900 per serving, it's on the more affordable side among the hanwoo menu items, and worked well for three of us to share.

Beef can get tough if it's cooked too long, so I ate it as soon as it was cooked just right.

Dipping it in salt is the tastiest way to eat it.

Hanwoo dwitgogi grilled on the pan with salt

It had a clean flavor with that distinctive savory beef richness, and there was fun in grilling it to your own preference on the pan. Rather than throwing it all on at once, cooking it in smaller batches as you eat meant it stayed warm right to the end.

Once the meat hits the grill, that savory aroma starts rising as it cooks.

Personally, I prefer my beef cooked so there's still some juice left rather than well-done, so I adjusted the doneness to my taste. When you visit with a group, everyone getting to grill their meat to their own liking is part of the fun of a Korean BBQ place.

Side dishes and accompaniments

I really liked how many different side dishes came out.

They had a clean, neat flavor that went well alongside the beef.

The grilled shishito peppers and mushrooms were really tasty too.

The quality of the hanwoo dwitgogi was really good, and each cut had a different texture, which made eating it all the more fun.

Value sets and choosing cuts

When you hear 'hanwoo,' price is often the first worry, but Hanuso Dwitgogi Beomil Branch has menu options at more accessible price points too, so there was a wide range to choose from.

Sign for the Hanuso value set

The Hanuso value set works well both for special occasions when a group wants to enjoy premium cuts, and for casual days when you just want to eat beef comfortably. If you're visiting with a group, ordering a mix of different cuts and picking based on preference seems like a good approach.

Looking at the menu, there's quite a range of cut options — from galbi dwitgogi to top-grade hanwoo sirloin, Hanuso tenderloin, hanwoo skirt steak, snowflake galbi, and golden shrimp meat. With so many types of meat available, it's easy to pick a menu based on group size or taste, and when visiting with several people, everyone can choose their own preferred cut. Next time I'd like to try the other cuts one by one and compare them.

Meal menu and highballs

Alongside the meat, there are meal menu items too, so you can round off a full meal in one sitting. Doenjang jjigae is ₩5,000, and ttaengjeon ramen and kimchi noodle soup are ₩6,000 each. It's a good lineup for when meat alone doesn't feel like quite enough, or when you want a hearty finish. Ending the meal with a warm stew or refreshing noodles after the beef seems like a nice match.

Highball menu with a variety of whiskies

I liked that there was a wide range of whiskies for the highballs too.

Group room for 8+ — good for work dinners?

Hanuso Dwitgogi Beomil Branch also has a group room, which makes it a good spot for visiting with a larger party.

The group room can be used for parties of 8 or more, and if you're planning to use it, it's best to call ahead before booking. It's listed as able to accommodate up to 20 people with instant booking via Catch Table, making it useful for company dinners, team gatherings, family get-togethers, reunions, and club meetings.

When a group gathers, having a space where you can chat comfortably along with the meal matters, and having a separate room felt like a real plus.

Reservation perks and amenities

Reserved guests get a free serving of premium hanwoo yukhoe (raw beef) per table.

There are also birthday and anniversary perks, and corkage is available. Wine orders over ₩100,000 come with free corkage, so keep that in mind if you're planning to bring wine.

The restaurant also has amenities like a baby chair, wireless internet, and separate men's/women's restrooms, and it's listed as wheelchair accessible at both the entrance and seating.

In summary

Hanuso Dwitgogi Beomil Branch was a good spot for enjoying a variety of beef at relatively affordable prices near Beomil Station. The wide menu selection makes it easy to pick based on group size or budget, and with a group room available for 8 or more, it also looks like a good option for family meals or Beomil-dong work dinners. It's conveniently close to Beomil Station for public transit, and the street public parking out front is worth noting too.
