Today's the day! It's been a while since I had Western food. I've brought an honest review of Bueokgan Restaurant, Shinsegae Simon Busan Premium Outlets — a Gijang Western food spot and a Busan Shinsegae Outlet restaurant. There are so many good restaurants in the Busan Shinsegae Outlet, and Bueokgan is one of the Western food ones!! Before going I agonized over which menu items to try and picked a variety. Let's get into the honest review.

Bueokgan's hours and where to find it inside the Gijang outlet

Bueokgan Restaurant, Shinsegae Simon Busan Premium Outlets is open Mon–Thu 10:30–20:30 (last order 20:00) and Fri–Sun 10:30–21:00 (last order 20:30). Location-wise, it's inside the Shinsegae Outlet, of course.

It's a bit of a walk from the food court, at the very innermost end of the building on the left from the vehicle entrance! It's next to the wine shop, so it should be easy to find.

You can just use the Shinsegae Outlet parking lot, and it's really, really spacious 😉

I made my way to Bueokgan Restaurant, a Gijang Western food spot, Gijang pasta spot, and Busan Shinsegae Outlet restaurant! You might think it's hard to find since the outlet is so huge inside, but it's actually way easier than expected. Like I said, it's at the very end of the building on the left from the entrance, so just walk all the way in and you'll see it haha. Bueokgan Restaurant looks upscale just from the exterior.

Inside Bueokgan: the waiting sofa and family group tables

Walking into Bueokgan Restaurant from the noisy outlet feels like stepping into an entirely different place. It's upscale but warm, and every detail of the interior was so pretty.

Near the entrance there's a really comfy-looking sofa seat set up for waiting customers.

That day a big family group had a reservation. While I was in the middle of eating, an extended family — from little kids to grandparents — came in for a meal. I've never done a family outing at a Western restaurant myself, but it really looked nice. There's such a wide range of dishes that suit everyone from little kids to seniors, which is probably why families come here like this.

Touches like this all over Bueokgan Restaurant give it a fresh yet warm atmosphere. Not a single mirror or light fixture was ordinary, and everything matched the shop's vibe perfectly.

Kiosk ordering at Bueokgan: menu prices and free corkage rules

Bueokgan Restaurant takes orders via kiosk, but I grabbed the physical menu board by the entrance too. Soup, salad, pasta, risotto, pilaf, steak, pizza, lasagna, gnocchi — there's basically no Western dish they don't have.

And Bueokgan Restaurant has free corkage! Up to three bottles, no less. From the fourth bottle on, there's a ₩15,000 surcharge.

Looking back, there are items not even on this menu board ㅠㅠ The actual menu is even more varied!

First up, the seafood tomato pasta and abalone cream risotto arrived. Both looked so good... ㅠㅠ

Seafood tomato pasta: peperoncino heat aimed at adults

Bueokgan Restaurant's seafood tomato pasta (₩19,000) had a different feel from tomato pasta at other Western restaurants. Whether they make the sauce in-house or not, it had a lot of the tomato's own natural flavor rather than that store-bought tomato sauce taste! Best of all, it wasn't overly rich or heavy-handed.

And it was packed with seafood! Shrimp, mussels, clams. The shrimp were big enough to fill your mouth, which I loved, and the mussels and clams had great aroma and chew when eaten with the sauce. There were bits of peperoncino scattered through the sauce, so it might be too spicy for kids, but for adults it was just the right amount of heat.

Abalone cream risotto: the mild dish kids can eat too

Bueokgan Restaurant's abalone cream risotto (₩20,000) has abalone innards mixed in, giving it a rich, deep color. And it's loaded with abalone meat too!!

This dish has zero spice, so kids can eat it too. The rice grains still had bite, and even though the abalone was sliced thin, it had enough texture that you didn't get tired of it and could finish the whole bowl. And the crispy fried enoki mushroom topping on top was seriously delicious lol.

Truffle mushroom pizza: the top pick of the three dishes

And now, the big one!! Truffle mushroom pizza (₩22,000). I really love the flavor and aroma of mushrooms. So when I saw they had a mushroom pizza, I picked this one without a second thought.

In real life the cheese stretched out big time... video attempt failed ㅜㅜ The dough was really delicious too. If they'd had honey, I would've wanted to dip the dough in it and eat the crust on its own!! The truffle aroma added a nice savory depth too, and the mushroom texture was great. They used oyster mushrooms, so the texture was really good! The tomato sauce spread on the pizza also tasted homemade — tangy and really delicious. Of the three dishes, I think the pizza was my favorite!

Is Bueokgan worth it? Final verdict

That was my honest review of Bueokgan Restaurant, a Gijang Western food spot and Gijang pasta spot. It had been a while since I'd been to a Western restaurant, so I was a little excited, and it satisfied that feeling 100%.

Bueokgan Restaurant didn't fall short on interior, taste, or service — nothing was missing. The warmth of the space made for a really comfortable meal. Even though it's inside an outlet mall, the prices aren't that steep! I'd go to the outlet just to eat at this restaurant. For anyone who wants to relax and eat well at the same time while at the outlet, I highly recommend Bueokgan Restaurant!
