Cheomdan Gwangju Italian restaurant MooDoo: window-seat carbonara

Today I came back to MooDoo, my go-to spot for pizza and pasta in Cheomdan, Gwangju — I've been so many times it's basically my regular haunt. I was craving a well-made pizza, so I headed over. The atmosphere is nice too, so it's a place that works for blind dates, regular dates, or pretty much any occasion.

MooDoo Cheomdan hours and parking

MooDoo Cheomdan, a restaurant known for its waitlist during work dinners in Cheomdan, Gwangju, is open from 11:00 to 22:00. There's both ground-level and basement parking, so parking was easy — which is a real plus, since Cheomdan is otherwise a tough area to park in.

Here's the interior of MooDoo, a lunch-and-dinner waitlist restaurant in Ssangam-dong, Cheomdan, Gwangju. The tables are spaced generously apart, which makes it easy to talk. With a mix of 4-top and 8-top tables, it also seems like a good spot for group gatherings.

We sat by the window. We were hungry that day, so we ended up ordering quite a lot.

Mushroom salad with fig

It's a mushroom salad, and out of all the salads here, this is the one I'd recommend most highly — definitely worth trying.

Carbonara with plenty of sauce

I love cream pastas, and carbonara especially.

MooDoo, a spot in Ssangam-dong, Cheomdan, Gwangju that's great for eating solo, gives you plenty of sauce with the pasta, which I liked. Honestly, part of the reason I order pasta is to dip the pizza crust ends in the leftover sauce.

I've tried several of the pastas at MooDoo, and none of them have ever disappointed. You really can't go wrong — just pick whatever suits your taste.

Adding a risotto for two

Next up, the risotto. Looking at the photos now, we really ate a lot for just two people, haha. But at MooDoo, a Western-style restaurant in Cheomdan, Gwangju, every single dish tastes so good that you find room for it even when you're already full.

I think the secret to the flavor is that they don't skimp on ingredients — they use good ones, generously.

Why we came to MooDoo: the wood-fired pizza

This is the pizza at MooDoo, known for its takeout and delivery pizza in Gwangju. This is actually why I came today — baked in a wood-fired oven, with a chewy crust and a clean, light cheese topping.

It came with a dipping sauce and a hot sauce on the side, so I didn't get tired of the flavor.

Honestly, the pizza itself is so good that I ended up eating it plain, without any sauce at all.

If you have leftover pizza, they'll pack it up for you, so even if you can't finish it, it's worth taking the rest home.
