Yeosu café for late-night family melon bingsu: Gwaireui Sup
In short
Gwaireui Sup Yeosu Branch is a fresh-fruit dessert café in Dolsan, Yeosu, Gwangju. After dinner, we shared melon bingsu with our 28-month-old, and loved the generous melon, cool indoor seating, and late hours. A sweet, easy family break while traveling in Yeosu.

After dinner, we were craving something sweet, so I went to Gwaireui Sup Yeosu Branch (과일의숲 여수점) with Jjin, who is 28 months old, and my husband. There were so many fruit desserts, but we tried the melon bingsu (shaved ice dessert) that day 😆 It stays open late, so it was great to stop by after dinner, too.
Gwaireui Sup Yeosu Branch location and hours
The address is 4 Baekchoan-gil, Dolsan-eup, Yeosu, Gwangju, South Korea. It is open from 11:00 to 24:00 on weekdays, and from 11:00 to 01:00 the next day on weekends, with no regular closing days. There was also a parking lot in front of the café.

Outdoor lights and atmosphere at night
We visited late after dinner, and the lighting made the atmosphere so lovely. The outdoor lights were on and the tables were nicely spaced apart, so once the weather gets a little cooler, it would be nice to sit outside and have fruit bingsu.

Visiting with children and dogs
There was even a cute dog living at the café! Jjin, who loves dogs, simply could not walk past it, haha. 🐶 Gwaireui Sup is dog-friendly! It seemed great that people traveling with their dogs could visit comfortably. There was a separate menu for dogs as well, and on a nice day, it would be lovely to enjoy dessert outside with your dog, haha.

Fresh fruit prepared after you order
Because the fruit menu is prepared as soon as you order, it did not come out immediately like fast food. We waited a little too, but we could watch them take fresh fruit from the refrigerator, cut it, and make our order right away, so it actually felt fresher. If you visit with a child, it may be helpful to keep in mind that the food can take a little time to come out!

Fruit dessert choices and indoor seating
As I looked through the menu, there were truly so many desserts using fruit. There were several kinds of bingsu to choose from, made with different fruits, plus lighter options such as yogurt ice cream and crêpes, so there was lots to choose from. Especially when visiting with a child, it was nice that adults could choose what they wanted while also picking something easy for a child to eat. We chose melon bingsu that day because we love melon, but next time I would like to try another fruit dessert too 😆

It was still hot when we visited, so we ended up sitting inside with the air conditioning, haha. The outdoor atmosphere was pretty too, but with a child, a cool indoor seat really is the best 😂 There were several tables inside, so it was comfortable to sit and eat with Jjin, and there was even a free photo booth, giving us a little something to look at while we waited for our order.

Bingsu topped with generous chunks of melon
The melon bingsu felt even more generous in person than it looked in the photos. It was piled high with large chunks of melon, and with the ice cream, it was sweet and refreshing, so I kept reaching for it even though we had already eaten dinner, haha. More than anything, Jjin ate the melon so well that I was happy. I wondered whether it would suit a child's taste, but Jjin kept picking at it and eating it, so it was great for the three of us to share as a family 😊

A dessert stop after dinner on a Yeosu trip
I think it would also be a good choice for anyone looking for a light dessert after dinner while traveling in Yeosu, like us. Since it stays open late, it was easy to visit in the evening after sightseeing during the day! When you are out with a child, there are surprisingly few places you can go late at night, but it was comfortable to sit and rest in the cool indoor space, and there was a separate outdoor area too, making it easy for families to take a little break 😊 We visited at night this time, but I think it would have a different atmosphere during the day, so if I get the chance on my next Yeosu trip, I would like to stop by in the daytime too!
