Gray coverage and tassel cut at Stern Hair, a Yeosu hair salon

Is there anyone who suddenly gets their hair colored because they have free time while traveling? People I’ve seen lately kept telling me how visible my gray hairs were... It was bothering me, so since I had time to spare, I went all in and dyed it.

But looking at it, there really were a lot ;; When you’re away from home, you don’t really know which hair salon is good, right...? I searched around and found this Yeosu hair salon near me that is also a beauty training institute, so I booked it straight away and went. Apparently, it originally operated in Soho-dong before moving to its current location!

So yes, it was a very new building.. And the inside was totally brand-new too! Stern Hair & Academy seemed like a pretty great choice for anyone looking for a Yeosu hair salon with a tidy interior and clean surroundings~

There’s such a large free public parking lot right in front! I had a 10:30 reservation, and there were plenty of open spaces.

They kindly have price information posted outside too, which seemed handy for reference.

Once inside, there were plaques for all kinds of training centers~ It definitely made the place feel trustworthy.

Maybe because the weather was so nice that day, sunlight poured into the salon and all the greenery felt so refreshing~ The interior was super clean.. Everything was so new!

Gray coverage matched to my natural color, without red tones

I was getting a trim and color today~ I have a lot of gray hair, and on top of that, I hate reddish tones and I don’t like light hair either... I’m someone who likes my natural hair color best!

After I said that, they carefully matched my hair color for me~ Taking fading into account and all that, we decided to go with the shade they recommended.

First, here’s my hair before coloring. I honestly thought I only had lots of gray hairs underneath? I thought they wouldn’t show unless you lifted my hair, but there were little gray hairs sticking out on the surface too.. Sob sob. And my hair color was oddly patchy as well.

Fast, thorough application with no heat processing

They mixed up the color so quickly, swoosh swoosh. They sprayed on what I think was scalp protectant—it felt cool—and then applied the dye quickly but carefully. This is a very important point!

They applied it at the speedy pace Koreans love, but none got on my skin, and it looked like they went over the gray areas a few extra times very carefully. Another thing I loved: no heat processing! My hair is naturally wavy, so I get straightening treatments regularly too, and I really didn’t want it to get any more damaged. Not using heat made me feel like my hair would stay a bit stronger even after coloring?

They said they’d check how the color had developed after about 30 minutes.. In the meantime, I took photos of the special offers~ and had a glass of iced tea~ Yeosu is definitely farther south than Seoul, so it felt a little hot that day; chugging a cold iced tea was sooo refreshing and nice.

After 30 minutes, they checked my hair, and I guess the color had come out well! Straight off to get it washed.

They dried it beautifully too, hehe. I already love the hair color.

And so, behold my finished hair.... I did get a cut too, actually. They gave me a tassel cut while trimming it, and they brought out my hair texture so well, right? I told them I preferred hair that was light and short, and they just knew exactly how to cut it the way I like!

Of course? The color is perfect too. You can see right away that there are no gray hairs sticking out, hehe. Maybe because it’s a training institute... Stern Hair & Academy was a Yeosu hair salon where the stylist’s skill was unmistakable!

They really do hair with such a breezy, satisfying touch. If they were in Seoul, I’d keep going back...^^ Even the fringe area, where I have the most gray hairs, was completely and neatly covered, righttt~~? I love it so much. I’m so excited to see my neat hair for the time being~ All the stylists have that air of true masters....
