Bueokgan Sangmu Branch has parking space out back! But since it was the weekend, it was full, so I parked on the shoulder out front instead!

It being weekend lunchtime, there was one party waiting ahead of us! But after a short wait, we were seated right away~

Even the terrace space visible while waiting at Bueokgan Sangmu was lovely 💖 The moment you open the door and step inside, the warm lighting and classic decor grab your attention.

It felt so exotic, almost like I'd landed in some small European village.

The tables were spaced generously, so we could focus on our conversation without worrying about the people around us.

Thanks to how comfortable the space felt, it seemed perfect not just for a couple's date but also for a family meal with your parents.

After flipping through the menu and agonizing over what to get, we went with the well-rounded Couple Set B.

Pretty tableware, right? Haha. As soon as we ordered, cooking began with fresh ingredients, and the savory, rich aroma wafting over made my mouth water.

Garden salad

The first dish out, the garden salad, combined crisp vegetables, a refreshing dressing and savory cheese — perfect for whetting the appetite before the meal.

Shrimp anchovy oil pasta

Next up, the shrimp anchovy oil pasta — a signature dish in Gwangju's pasta scene — came generously loaded with plump, springy shrimp.

The distinctive umami of the anchovy and the richness of the oil soaked deep into the noodles, so good it had a magical hold on my spoon.

Truffle mushroom pizza

Then came the truffle mushroom pizza, and I was completely won over by the truffle aroma wafting across the table.

The thin, chewy dough was piled high with mushrooms, and the flavor that spread with every bite was no joke.
