What is Noju? Fine dining near Mangwon Station from 38,000 won

Noju is an Italian fine dining restaurant on the 2nd floor at 56 Donggyo-ro 9-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul, and at lunch you can get the season lunch course for 38,000 won. A country mouse from Daegu, up in Seoul for a visit, wanted to eat something good while I was here, so I looked up this amazingly good-value season lunch course!!!!

I came up determined to crush Seoul this year — do we even have places like this in Daegu? This is a spot that nails both ₩30,000-range value AND great taste!! I genuinely wanted to beg them to open a branch in Daegu!!!!

How to walk to Noju from Mangwon Station

✔️ Here's Noju's exterior! Noju is super super close to Mangwon Station — once you spot the red sign for the Mangwon-dong makguksu (buckwheat noodle) place, you've basically arrived!

Alley and sign leading to Noju
Noju's standing sign and stairs up to the 2nd floor

📍 Head up the stairs by the standing sign in the side alley! I think it used to be closed every Monday, but 🌟 now they're open on Mondays too! I actually visited on a Monday myself!

Bar table or hall table at Noju: which to book?

At Noju you can choose between a bar table and a hall table when booking, and there are about 6 tables total. I picked the hall table!

Hall table seating at Noju

✔️ Here's the bar table at Noju! Once I arrived I regretted not booking the bar table instead! It has a great atmosphere too, and 📍 since it's an open kitchen, you can watch the cooking happen right in front of you!!!

Table setting at Noju with engraved cutlery

Maybe because I'd booked in advance, the table was already set when I arrived. But!!! Even the cutlery at Noju is different!! It's engraved?? Seriously — this is the moment I thought, Seoul really is different! Though maybe it's just because it's Noju? ㅎ🪽 💟 They pay attention to every little detail. And this is still a ₩30,000-range value fine dining spot!! *Of course, there are various price ranges available too!🫧

Noju's wine list, from glass pours to bottles

✔️ Noju has SO many kinds of wine! There's a wine menu that's a whole separate booklet because the selection is that big, and you can order by the glass from 60ml to 370ml, or order a full bottle.

💟 They even have a dedicated spot for bags!! You know how sometimes your bag gets in the way while eating? Since there's a designated bag area, everyone ends up leaving their bag there!

🍷 With that much wine, there are also tons of wine glasses!!! I don't actually drink wine, but I studied a bit about it in college — different wines call for different glass shapes. Noju has every type of wine glass ready to go! 🌟 Wine lovers are really going to love Noju!🌟 I visited around 2pm on a Monday and there were about 3 tables of guests, with one table enjoying daytime wine!! That alone tells you it's a real wine spot!!

Noju lunch menu and prices

✔️ Here's Noju's menu! For lunch, they showed us two options total.

  • Noju Signature Lunch ₩55,000
  • Season Lunch Course ₩38,000

💟 The Noju Signature Lunch has two more courses than the Season Lunch Course!! 🤍 We ordered the Season Lunch Course ₩38,000 × 2.

Focaccia with fig and butter

🪽 Noju's Focaccia, fig/butter. Fig butter? Genuinely delicious! 🧈 The bread was golden-brown, crisp outside, soft and moist inside! My expectations shot up right from the very first bite!

Welcome to NOJU: beet and endive

🪽 Noju's Welcome to NOJU, beet/endive. The beet tart is meant to be eaten in one bite, and the endive was about the same size as the tart so I ate that in one bite too!

🪽 A close-up of the beet tart! Eating it, I was genuinely surprised. The flavor was almost unbelievable for a ₩30,000-range value fine dining spot! 💌 Really distinctive! The beet paired so well with the ricotta inside!

Close-up of Noju's beet tart

🪽 A close-up of the endive. The moment I ate the endive, I could feel it building my appetite for what was coming next! There's a real depth of flavor to it — savory and it paired beautifully with the cabbage-like leaves!

Bottarga pasta with fish roe and anchovy

🪽 Noju's Bottarga, fish roe/anchovy. A pollack roe pasta! The noodles were nice and plump — you could just tell at a glance they were house-made!

Noju's bottarga (fish roe) pasta

Mix it up well and that's it — genuinely so delicious I inhaled it in three seconds, and the chef looked kind of surprised haha. I probably should've savored it more but I just went for it — a pasta flavor unlike anything I'd normally have! This country mouse is once again dreaming about living in Seoul...

An emptied plate of pasta at Noju

It was genuinely so good I nearly scraped through the plate! See how clean it is?

Signature gnocchi with truffle and potato

🪽 Noju's Signature Gnocchi, truffle/potato. Next up, truffle gnocchi! That distinctive earthy truffle smell paired so well with the rich, creamy sauce!

You know how important the sauce is for gnocchi, right? At Noju? Need I say more~~~~ It's just elegant, rich, and handles everything on its own!! Rather than saying

Noju's signature truffle and potato gnocchi

Pork tenderloin with jalapeño and zucchini

🪽 Noju's Pork Tenderloin, jalapeño/zucchini. The final highlight! Pork tenderloin steak! 💟 This is the first time I've realized pork could be this tender~~ Not sure I should say this, but with pork you often end up with tough bits stuck between your teeth — with Noju's, there was absolutely none of that!

☝🏻 The sauce and meat combo was excellent, and above all, the jalapeño's mild heat *you can adjust the spice level* really brought out the flavor. This jalapeño is genuinely magic. It doubles the savoriness of the meat!!! Please, please try it with the jalapeño!

Walnut ice cream to finish

🪽 To finish, Noju's Ice Cream, walnut. Even the final walnut ice cream tasted seriously high-end~~~

Noju's walnut ice cream dessert

This level of value in the ₩30,000 range? Total value fine dining~~~ I'd come back a hundred times!!!🤍🪽 I want to recommend this without hesitation as a Seoul date course ><!!! Now I want a Seoul date too~~~~🫧

Noju's bathroom stocked with amenities

Details down to the restroom

✔️ Here's Noju's bathroom! As I mentioned earlier, you really feel that every corner of this place has been thought through. 💟 Disposable toilet seat covers, mouthwash, even dental floss — it's all there! First I fell for the thoughtfulness, then for the taste, then for the price!! I love you, Noju!

Hair ties, even candy!! Noju has earned its spot on the 2026 tasty-spot map!!
