Why Buja Hodu's walnut pastries work as a gift for parents
Everyone knows Hwangnidan-gil is the famous spot when you think of Gyeongju, right?? People buy tons of souvenirs here, and I picked up walnut pastries for my parents at Buja Hodu!! 🤤 They also sell holiday gift sets, so this would be perfect for the upcoming Chuseok too~~ :-)

Oh~~ they do delivery, so you can easily send these as a gift far away, and they run a smart store too 👍 They also open early at 9:30 and stay open until 8pm, so you can browse Hwangnidan-gil as much as you want and drop by at your leisure~~ 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Four walnut pastry flavors and how Buja Hodu packs them
Buja Hodu's walnut pastries come in four flavors total!! 🤤 If you want to try them all, go for the 24-piece mix and you'll get a bit of everything :-)

They bake them ahead and pack them in advance, so you can grab yours right when you arrive!!

There are also parasol seats out front where you can eat right there!!

How about Buja Hodu walnut pastries as a holiday gift?? Back in the day walnut pastries were only red bean, but these days you get places like Buja Hodu with so many different flavors — kids will probably love it too haha

They also sell bottled drinks, and if you buy a gift set, they wrap it beautifully in a bojagi (traditional wrapping cloth) for you :-) The bojagi comes in purple, yellow, and mint!!

Wrapped up nicely in a bojagi, it makes such a lovely gift, and the person receiving it would feel so happy too 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Chuseok is coming up soon, so try this as a holiday gift for the elders in your family~~!! 🥰 It's the kind of gift that gets instant compliments haha

They sell coffee and drinks too!! Packing an Americano together with walnut pastries to enjoy together would be great haha total dream combo!!

Seeing the machine that bakes the walnut pastries right inside the store, it looks like they bake them fresh on-site 👍

When you leave a receipt review, they give you 2 walnut pastries or an Americano, so it'd be nice to write one and get that :-)

10-piece instant pack: red bean and pea, 11,000 won
Ta-da~~!! Let's head home with the walnut pastries I ordered~~ 🙌🏻 They looked so good that I couldn't resist eating some on the way home, and they were delicious 😄
Instant packaging - 10-piece mix, ₩11,000

The instant packaging comes in a paper bag, with 5 red bean and 5 pea flavor pastries each 🙂

They're wrapped in hanji (traditional paper) :-)

Don't they look so delicious?? 👍 If you like walnut pastries, I highly recommend stopping by Buja Hodu on Hwangnidan-gil in Gyeongju for a souvenir!! 🙂
15-piece gift box for 17,000 won and how it tastes reheated
Box packaging - 15-piece mix, ₩17,000

The box packaging looks much more upscale than the instant packaging 🙂

The flavors are red bean, matcha, and pea cream cheese — 3 kinds with 5 of each :-)

Just like the instant packaging, they're wrapped in hanji 🥰 It's nice that they're packaged hygienically, and also super convenient to peel open and eat!!

If you give them a quick zap in the microwave or air fryer, they get warm and toasty like they were just baked!! 🤤 When I cut one in half, it was packed full of red bean paste haha A whole walnut goes inside each one too, so it's good for your health, a healthy snack for everyone from kids to grandparents 👍 Of the three, pea cream cheese was my favorite haha We all know walnuts are good for you, right?? A total winner as a snack for kids and elders alike!! 🤤
