Dongtan cold noodle restaurant with 11am parking: Naengmyeon Gajun
In short
Naengmyeon Gajun Dongtan Main Branch is a Korean cold noodle restaurant right in front of Dongtan Lake Park in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi, with floor-to-ceiling windows looking onto the lake. Arriving at 11am meant plenty of room in the underground parking garage, and the set of naengmyeon (cold noodles) with soy-marinated pork belly came with the option to leave off the red sauce that normally tops mul-naengmyeon (cold broth noodles). Naengmyeon Gajun works well as a lunch that flows straight into a walk around the lake.

I was looking for a lunch spot near Dongtan Lake Park with a friend when I ended up at Naengmyeon Gajun, where the lake fills the window. It was a clear day, so the view through the floor-to-ceiling glass — lake and lawn all in one frame — was genuinely great to eat with. If you like cold noodles, this is worth keeping on your list when you're hunting for a lunch spot near Dongtan Lake Park!
Where Naengmyeon Gajun Dongtan Main Branch is, and the basics

Sort out parking first on weekends
I got there around 11am and there were plenty of open spots in the underground lot, so parking was easy. Visitors can use B4 and B5. On weekends, though, cars start filling up fast as lunchtime approaches, so if you can, it's more relaxing to arrive before noon.
What are the lake-view window seats like?

One thing I liked about this spot for things to do in Dongtan was that the tables weren't crammed together — the space felt open. The tables themselves were big too, so it looked comfortable for a family lunch.

The window seats especially had full glass walls, so Dongtan Lake Park stretched out right in front of you. Just turning your head mid-meal gave you the blue lake and the walking path — it put me in a good mood. It's close enough that you can head straight out for a walk after eating, which makes it a perfect pick for a things-to-do-in-Dongtan course with family, friends, or a date.
A menu that suits a bigger group

The mains here are bibim-naengmyeon (spicy mixed cold noodles) and mul-naengmyeon, but there's also meat like braised beef short ribs, so it works even if someone in your group isn't a naengmyeon fan. Having a set option to add pork belly was nice too, since it widens the choices.

Naengmyeon on its own is ₩7,900 here — and considering a single meal these days easily runs over ₩10,000, the value felt solid.
What we ordered

The cold noodle and soy-marinated pork belly set
After some back and forth, we went with the set that let us try both the noodles and the pork belly.

Bibim-naengmyeon (spicy mixed cold noodles)
First up, the bibim-naengmyeon came with a generous heap of red sauce on top of the noodles — mixed with the chewy noodles, it really woke up my appetite.

Does mul-naengmyeon come with red sauce on top?
The mul-naengmyeon was a bit unusual — the slushy, ice-cold broth came with the red sauce mixed in already.

At first I thought it had come out wrong and asked, but it turns out that's how it's served by default.
If you'd rather have a clean, plain broth, you can ask them to leave the sauce off when you order — good to know ahead of time!

The broth itself had slush ice mixed in, so it was refreshingly cold. I think the whole point of naengmyeon is temperature, and this was properly cold rather than lukewarm, which I liked.

Piling the side dishes that came with it on top made for a nice change too — the crunchy texture added something extra. Worth trying instead of just eating it plain.

Soy-marinated pork belly
The portion wasn't overly large, so it was just right as a side. The seasoning was nicely salty, good for eating alongside the noodles bite by bite.

Having a warm bite of the meat between mouthfuls of cold noodles was a real treat. The naengmyeon alone is fine, but if you want a heartier lunch, I'd recommend the set.
The self-service side dish bar

There's a self-service bar on one side where you can grab as many side dishes as you need. Being able to top up on radish pickles and other sides that pair well with naengmyeon without flagging down staff was convenient.
How it worked as a Dongtan Lake Park lunch
Eating leisurely with a friend while taking in the lake view, then walking straight out into Dongtan Lake Park right next door, made this a perfect fit for a date course too. If you're looking for a weekend plan with friends or a things-to-do-in-Dongtan spot all in one, give it a try!
