Freshly boiled jokbal, every single day

* A jokbal spot that boils fresh every day * They slice the delicious jokbal right in front of the store, hahaha. Did you all know that? These days there aren't many jokbal places that actually make it themselves anymore! A lot of places just reheat delivered jokbal, but here they make it fresh every single day!

This is Jangmo Jokbal, super famous as the go-to jokbal restaurant near Bupyeong Market Station — the dining room is always packed and takeout orders are constant ^^ *Don't forget to ask for the takeout discount when you order!*

Inside the busy restaurant with many takeout orders

Ordered ahead by phone, ₩51,000 total for takeout

Maybe because I called ahead, my takeout order was ready really fast, hahaha. Phone orders really are the best, haha.

Look at how generous the portions are once packed up, hahaha. Haming-ggu's pick - Large jokbal ₩41,000 - Medium mak guksu ₩7,000 - Zero-sugar cola ₩2,000 Total ₩51,000

Even the side dishes match dine-in exactly

The side dishes came out exactly like eating in the restaurant — ssam vegetables, peppers, garlic, perilla leaves, radish salad, salted shrimp, and ssamjang, all packed generously. The radish kimchi here is seriously delicious, hahaha.

How many people can the large jokbal feed?

Large jokbal, ₩41,000. Jangmo Jokbal near Bupyeong Market Station really gives you a huge portion, hahaha. Way more jokbal than other places. Order the large size and four people can eat comfortably!!

You can eat it warm at the restaurant, and even after it cools a bit as takeout, it stays wonderfully chewy, hahahaha.

Even the medium mak guksu comes with a slushy ice base

I ordered the medium mak guksu (buckwheat noodles) worried we'd have leftovers, but even the medium size was so generous three people could eat it. Plus they give you the icy slush separately, hahaha, so it stays cold and delicious from start to finish, hahahaha. The mak guksu here is spicy, sweet, and refreshing ^^ — I really recommend ordering it~~

Because it's handmade jokbal boiled fresh every day by the owner, the texture is extra chewy and the meat so tender ^^ No gamey smell at all, just a rich, deep jokbal flavor — my favorite part, hahaha.

The packing was so meticulous that it looked clean and neat even after getting home, easy to just dig in, haha. Every single side dish that comes with it is delicious!!

Haming-ggu's favorite way to eat it

  • Chive salad + radish kimchi + jokbal
  • Mak guksu + jokbal together
  • Jokbal + ssamjang

Eating it this way made it even more delicious, haha.

  • Dine-in and takeout are exactly the same, which I love
