Pocheon Italian restaurant for pumpkin pasta: From Italy

I went on a Pocheon date with my boyfriend at From Italy (프롬이태리), a Gomori pasta spot with such a lovely atmosphere~ I found out about this Pocheon restaurant after seeing Karina and Jang Do-yeon eating there, and wow, the atmosphere is great and the food is uniquely delicious!!

From Italy is a Pocheon restaurant located between Gomori Reservoir and Gwangneung Arboretum. As you drive straight along the road, you’ll spot the From Italy restaurant sign. There’s a parking lot right in front, so parking was easy too~

I heard that From Italy is an Italian fusion restaurant serving menus developed directly by its owner-chef, who worked at a five-star hotel in Seoul and headed R&D in Gangnam.

It’s also a Pocheon Blue Ribbon restaurant that has received seven Blue Ribbons since 2020. Even just looking at the menu on Naver Place, there were so many unusual dishes that I was super excited haha.

Medieval antique interiors and second-floor window seats

The moment we stepped inside, the old-world, medieval-style antique interior really caught my eye. It isn’t fully private, but there are also small areas separated almost like rooms, which looked nice for a quiet meal!

Fine-art reproductions, antique plates, and little decorative pieces are displayed around the restaurant, so it almost feels like visiting a gallery..? It’s fun to look around every corner. I even felt a bit like a young lady in a romance-fantasy novel haha. It would be perfect for taking photos of your girlfriend on a Pocheon date~

We also went upstairs, and it was more spacious and quieter than the first floor, so the mood was even better! Such pretty window seats at this Pocheon restaurant~

Ordering zucchini dolce and half-and-half pizza

I took photos of the menu and prices at From Italy, the Pocheon restaurant~ Since it’s famous as a Gomori pasta spot, there were so many options, from tomato and cream pasta to oil-based pasta. The jewel-box course with steak or the tomahawk set also looked like good picks. We ordered the signature zucchini dolce and a half-and-half pizza because we wanted to try a variety of things!

The table was set with utensils, and they brought us simple pickles as a side dish.

For the bread course, we got squid-ink ciabatta. It was bite-sized and nicely chewy, and so good dipped in balsamic sauce haha.

Since we drove, we couldn’t drink, so we had grapefruit ade and green-grape ade~ The grapefruit was tastier to me! As we waited with our sweet, refreshing ades, the main dishes finally arrived.

Zucchini dolce pasta served in sweet pumpkin

Zucchini Dolce, 1.5 servings, ₩37,000. From Italy’s zucchini dolce pasta had such a dramatic look, with a knife stuck right in the middle! Like pane pasta, it was tomato pasta served inside a small sweet pumpkin. They told us to cut it with the knife and eat it that way. It was loaded with seafood too, and the plate was much bigger than I expected haha.

The tomato sauce wasn’t thick; it was on the lighter side, but it was incredibly delicious!! It had a tangy flavor that kept me reaching for more. The noodles were bouncy, almost as if every strand still had its texture, and I fell for this Gomori pasta spot at the first bite.. It looks pretty and tastes great too haha.

The sweet pumpkin was moist and honey-sweet too~ The pasta amount really was 1.5 servings, but with all that pumpkin, it fills you up fast..

Blueberry and arugula prosciutto half-and-half pizza

Half-and-half pizza, ₩34,000. It came with blueberry pizza and arugula prosciutto pizza, and true to an Italian fusion restaurant, the pizza looked unusual too! You can drizzle all of the honey that comes with it over only the arugula prosciutto side—aren’t the little cherry-shaped containers so cute haha?

My boyfriend and I were honestly a little scared by the look of this blueberry pizza, which neither of us had ever seen before, but it was seriously soooo good haha. It was a combination of super creamy cheese topped with blueberries. It only feels unfamiliar because it’s pizza—if you think of ex-boyfriend toast, the combination makes sense, right? It was nutty, sweet, and sooo delicious.

The arugula prosciutto pizza had heaps of fresh arugula, salty prosciutto, and sweet honey: the ultimate sweet-and-salty combination. I thought this was only a Gomori pasta spot, but the pizza was uniquely delicious too, and I was still thinking about it after I got home..

A look around the garden after our Pocheon date meal

After we finished eating, we stepped outside because there was a garden, and it was decorated so beautifully?! It was morning, so the lights were off, but I think it would be so pretty once they come on at night. Having a cup of coffee here in autumn would be just perfect, right haha. The atmosphere was great and the food was delicious, so I highly recommend it as a Pocheon date course!!

From Italy is such a distinctive Pocheon restaurant, satisfying in every way from its atmosphere to its food! As an Italian fusion restaurant, it was nice to try unusual dishes. The pasta was delicious, as you’d expect from a Gomori pasta spot, and you really have to try the blueberry pizza!
