I visited Bada Super Haemul Cheonha Jogaegui, Geobukseom Oido Branch, where you can enjoy a generous spread of shellfish and seafood while looking out at the sea 🐚 The wide-open ocean view is such a draw! Right in front of Geobukseom Beach, it is a lovely place for a hot bowl of seafood kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) when you are feeling peckish 🍜

The restaurant is full of seafood dishes, from steamed clams in broth, assorted grilled clams, and lobster fondue mains to seafood kalguksu, seafood pajeon (green-onion pancake), mulhoe (cold raw-fish soup), and hoe-deopbap (raw fish over rice) 😊

The blue wallpaper at the entrance immediately gives the place a fresh, breezy feeling.

Guests had hung shells on the wall with messages they wanted to write on them, haha. So cute!! If there is a wait, it is a nice place to sit.

The weather has started getting chilly in the evenings with the bigger day-to-night temperature gap. I hear the flu is going around these days... Everyone, take care not to catch a cold! 😷

The spacious, pleasant dining room came into view at once. The tables are comfortably spaced, so it would be easy to visit with a group; it seemed good for a family meal, a gathering with friends, or a date too. 😙

The neatly kept atmosphere makes for a comfortable meal. The window seats are especially nice for taking in the sea view 😇

The kind staff served the food quickly. I could see that the kitchen was kept clean and hygienic too.

The LED lighting adds even more pretty ambience. At the self-service corner, you can pick up any extra side dishes and tableware you need. The interior really brings on that beachside feeling~ ⛱️

Even though I arrived in the early evening, the bright, light-filled space already had such a lively vibe, haha.

On a fine day, you can see a beautiful sunset along with the sea, which makes the visit especially memorable. 🌇

Seafood-filled kalguksu

The seafood kalguksu comes loaded with seafood, so you can enjoy the sea's natural flavors in many ways. Our order was small seafood kalguksu, icy mulhoe, and cheese tteokbokki.

The chilled broth, with little bits of ice floating in it, held thick slices of raw fish and crisp vegetables. Eating the fish and vegetables together with that cold, sweet-and-tangy flavor left my mouth feeling refreshed. 🥰

It is fun to let the spicy, tangy frozen broth slowly melt as you eat, haha. I was surprised by how generous the portion was, and the fish was so thick, chewy, and fresh the more I chewed 🤍

The mulhoe also comes with somyeon (thin wheat noodles). Once the broth has melted a little, add the noodles and mix them well—then suddenly it is a mouthful of sweet-and-tangy slurping magic! 😋

The chewy rice cakes with cheese were spicy and sweet, so they were great to alternate with the seafood. The mozzarella stretched looong, giving it a lovely texture and nutty richness—I was very satisfied~ 👏

There was quite a generous amount of seafood. With clams and many other kinds of seafood, the broth naturally developed a clean, refreshing flavor, and it made for a filling meal with the springy noodles.

Above all, the seafood was fresh, so I could enjoy it cleanly without any fishiness. Such a variety of clams, right?!

It was a hearty, satisfying spread of clams, mussels, scallops, webfoot octopus, vegetables, kalguksu, and clean, refreshing broth! Dipping the clams in soy sauce and chojang (sweet-tangy chili sauce) made them even more savory—so good❣️ Next time, I want to come back with my family and try the signature grilled clams and steamed clams in more varieties. Keep this in mind as a Geobukseom Oido restaurant for a mood-setting ocean-view meal!
