Everyone, meat is love, right? And the most delicious meat is meat grilled by someone else... we all agree, right? Hehe~
After work or on the weekend, I often desperately crave meat, but then hesitate because of the smell clinging to my clothes and the hassle of grease splattering everywhere. So I visited a place where you can enjoy a whole spread of meat and side dishes at a reasonable price.
I had such a generous, satisfying lunch at Donpu The Grill, a popular meat restaurant in Janggi-dong known by word of mouth for its neat full-table spread, with everything perfectly grilled and served with care.
Donpu The Grill location and parking in Janggi-dong, Gimpo
Donpu The Grill is in the dining alley of Janggi-dong, Gimpo. Its clean, sophisticated black-toned exterior catches your eye from afar, while the cute pig-shaped signature logo and large, cheerful yellow-lettered sign welcome you in. For parking, use Janggi 3 Public Parking Lot.

Outside the restaurant, there was a neat lunch-menu standing sign that instantly showed its identity as a specialist in flame-grilled meat set meals. A row of event banners also advertised a can of soda, flying-fish-roe cheese-loaded steamed egg, and 50% off additional-order items, getting me excited before I even went in.

A spacious dining hall and thoughtful convenience area
As soon as I opened the door, a wide, airy, pleasant dining hall stretched out before me. Every table had modern ventilation ducts, and a clean tablet for table ordering was installed at each seat, so it seemed just as fitting for a comfortable lunch as for a family meal, group gathering, or company dinner.

Near the entrance, a lovely consideration space had been prepared for guests. Fabric deodorizer to freshen clothes after a meal, soft cozy lap blankets, and all kinds of thoughtfully chosen convenience items were neatly arranged on the shelves. You could really feel the owner's warm, attentive care.

Six sauces to choose to your taste
I loved that you can choose your own sauces here, too! There was an impressive lineup of six distinctive premium sauces—wasabi mayo, ponzu sauce, steak sauce, salted hairtail innards, Maldon salt, and fresh wasabi—so you can pick according to your taste and enjoy a variety of flavors. It was a standout touch unique to this Janggi-dong meat restaurant.

The Duroc pork neck set meal
The Duroc pork neck set arrived neatly arranged on an individual wooden tray! On a hot square cast-iron griddle, sizzling away with that lovely sound, was a generous portion of thick Duroc pork neck grilled to a perfectly golden finish,

Surrounded by sweetly stir-fried shredded onions, fresh minari (water celery) bursting with fragrance, large golden-grilled mushrooms, and spicy-tangy stir-fried kimchi, all set out in a wonderfully abundant spread.

The standard table setting was packed with good things, too: garlic, peppers, ssamjang (savory soybean dipping paste), steamed egg, pickled radish wraps, pickled scallions, mushrooms, minari, kimchi, onion, stew, and rice were all carefully served.

When I scooped into it with a spoon, the steamed egg was springy and finely textured like pudding. It melted moistly and softly in my mouth, making it perfect for soothing my stomach before the meal!

The spicy stew, served bubbling away in a ttukbaegi (earthenware pot) with a deep red color, was especially striking from the moment I saw it.

After giving it a big stir with my spoon, I found it full of large, tender pieces of pork. The deep, rich flavor of the meaty broth was excellent.

Unlimited wrap-vegetable bar and Duroc pork neck wraps
The self-serve bar is well stocked here, too, so you can pile up fresh ssam vegetables without feeling self-conscious!

On a fresh lettuce leaf generously picked up from the self-serve bar, I piled on a big piece of golden-grilled Duroc pork neck, grilled onion and minari, spicy grilled kimchi, pungent sliced garlic and Cheongyang chili, plus ssamjang. Wrapping it all up and taking a huge bite, the crisp freshness of the vegetables, chewy meat, and colorful supporting ingredients came together in perfect harmony.

Final thoughts on this ready-grilled meat spread
Donpu The Grill in Janggi-dong serves meat carefully grilled by professionals, so there is no need to deal with grilling it yourself or worry about smell and smoke. With its unlimited self-serve bar of fresh wrap vegetables and its neat, generous individual flame-grilled set meal, it completely delivered on both value and quality! It is a great fit for an office lunch, family meal, or date, so I think I will head here without hesitation whenever I am craving a meat spread.
