Yangju Okjeong katsu restaurant with kiosk ordering: Choi Dining
In short
Choi Dining Yangju Okjeong is a fusion Japanese restaurant on the second floor of a shopping building in Okjeong-dong, Yangju, Gyeonggi. On a rainy day the writer parked in the basement lot, ordered from the table kiosk, and shared the signature bone-in tonkatsu — as big as two king-size pork cutlets, with a standout handmade sauce — and the pork jowl wild garlic oil pasta, spicy with a clean finish. For a filling lunch in Okjeong, the bone-in tonkatsu at Choi Dining Yangju Okjeong is worth the trip.

I had the bone-in tonkatsu and the pork jowl wild garlic oil pasta at Choi Dining Yangju Okjeong, a great spot for lunch in Okjeong. So let me introduce Choi Dining Yangju Okjeong in detail, plus my full review of the bone-in tonkatsu and the pork jowl wild garlic oil pasta.
Where is Choi Dining Yangju Okjeong, and where do you park?
Choi Dining Yangju Okjeong is located at 경기 양주시 옥정동로7다길 74 2층 203호 (옥정동 965-6), open daily from 11:00 to 21:00 with last order at 20:30. There's a break time from 16:00 to 17:00 on weekdays, but no break time on weekends, and there's a dedicated parking lot — if it's full, you can use the Dream Tower 2 parking lot.

Since Choi Dining Yangju Okjeong has basement parking, I drove there, and what I especially liked was that even though it's a restaurant inside the Okjeong commercial building, it's positioned right at the entrance so I could get in quickly.

Taking the elevator up from the basement parking lot to the 2nd floor, Choi Dining's playful retro sign greeted me.
Inside Choi Dining: a bright room even on a rainy day

The interior is decorated with varied but minimal props throughout, so even though it was a gray, rainy day outside, I could spend a fresh, pleasant time once inside the restaurant.

The tables were especially spacious, so ordering several dishes felt completely fine, and the table arrangement was roomy enough to chat comfortably with my companion.
How ordering works: a kiosk on every table

Since a kiosk is installed at every table, I could order quickly without waiting for staff — I picked the signature bone-in tonkatsu and the pork jowl wild garlic oil pasta, which seemed light enough for a good pairing.

Now let me walk you through, in order, my full review of the bone-in tonkatsu and pork jowl wild garlic oil pasta I tried at Choi Dining Yangju Okjeong, a great lunch spot in Okjeong.
Bone-in tonkatsu: the size of two king-size pork cutlets

Have you ever seen tonkatsu served with the bone still in? I really love tonkatsu, but I'd never seen one fried bone-and-all before, so as a tonkatsu enthusiast there was no way I wasn't ordering it. First off, the portion — it was seriously massive, like two king-sized tonkatsu from other restaurants combined.

Looking closer, what caught my eye first was the crispy batter that didn't get soggy even after time passed — and sure enough, it delivered a satisfying crunchy texture in the mouth too.

The real kick of Choi Dining's bone-in tonkatsu is the handmade sauce generously drizzled on top — since it's a handmade sauce rather than a store-bought tonkatsu sauce, it had a savory-salty, sticky-sweet flavor that clung to the palate in the best way!

The meat is loin cut, but it was tender, and because it's fried bone-in loin, the quality of the meat as well as the meaty aroma really came through. As I mentioned, both the portion and the flavor were on another level, so if you're visiting with a boyfriend or husband, I definitely recommend ordering this bone-in tonkatsu.
What does the pork jowl wild garlic oil pasta taste like?

On the other hand, I'd recommend the pork jowl wild garlic oil pasta especially if a woman is visiting Choi Dining — the oil pasta sauce is spicy yet finishes clean, so it seemed like it would definitely suit everyone's taste, especially women's!

And while the spicy sauce was delicious, the pasta noodles themselves were cooked to the perfect point between firm and soft. The sauce coated the noodles beautifully, so it tasted great paired with the pork jowl, but the noodles alone were also seriously good.

Also, adding the basil pesto served on the side on top of the pasta let the pesto's fresh, salty flavor subtly seep in, giving it a different, interesting twist.

The pork jowl had that distinctive crisp yet chewy texture along with the savory richness of its fat, pairing well with the pasta — and the portion of pork jowl was generous too, so if you go to Choi Dining, I hope you'll try the pork jowl wild garlic oil pasta.
Worth returning for lunch in Okjeong? Final verdict
Today I shared my review of Choi Dining Yangju Okjeong, a great spot for lunch in Okjeong. I thought Choi Dining was mainly known for seafood and Japanese dishes, but they also have a wide variety of fusion menu items, and the food was delicious too, which made me like it even more. The staff were kind and the restaurant was very clean, so if you're looking for a good place for lunch in Okjeong, give Choi Dining Yangju Okjeong a try!
