Today I visited 1992 Deopbap & Jjageuli Gangnam Main Branch, a place where you can eat simply but still feel really full afterward haha.

Where is 1992 Deopbap & Jjageuli Gangnam Main Branch, and when is it open?

1992 Deopbap & Jjageuli Gangnam Main Branch is on the 1st floor of 6 Gangnam-daero 84-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, a 3-minute walk from Gangnam Station Exit 3. Hours are Mon–Fri 10:30–23:00 (last order 22:30) and Sat–Sun 10:30–22:00 (last order 21:30).

I went during dinner time and it was already packed with office workers who'd just finished work, so I barely managed to grab a seat!

It was nice that you could check the menu outside the restaurant first! Good for deciding what to get before you even walk in.

Looked like there's a lot of takeout and delivery too — you can pick up easily right outside the restaurant!

Are there solo seats at 1992 Deopbap & Jjageuli?

1992 Deopbap & Jjageuli Gangnam Main Branch has a terrace table, group tables inside, dining tables that are comfortable for eating alone, and even a room if you go further in — a pretty solid lineup of seating haha.

I thought it'd just be a quick, simple place to grab a meal, but they were surprisingly serious about the interior! It has such a clear Korean-style concept that I could see a lot of foreign customers coming here too.

Genuinely completely full, wow. Maybe that's why the turnover is so fast, and the self-service system is set up so conveniently that everything felt really easy and simple!

Jeonju-style yukhoe bibimbap set, 13,500 won, with kimchi jjigae

The menu at 1992 Deopbap & Jjageuli Gangnam Main Branch has every kind of jjigae, bibimbap, and deopbap you could want, plus sets, so there were a lot of choices. After much deliberation... I went with the Jeolla-style yukhoe (raw beef) bibimbap set with kimchi jjigae (₩13,500), and my friend ordered the deumppuk jjageuli (₩13,500)! It came out in about 5 minutes after ordering — that fast turnover really shows...

First up, the Jeolla-style yukhoe bibimbap! You can choose steamed egg or kimchi jjigae as the side, and I went with kimchi jjigae haha. Though honestly it felt more like a kimchi soup than a jjigae!

It's topped so neatly and prettily with a soft-boiled egg, yukhoe, cabbage, green onion, and gim (seaweed flakes)!

That egg yolk is such a bright yellow...

The kimchi jjigae had a moderate amount of cabbage and tofu in it! Very clean kimchi soup flavor. The seasoning was spot on and clean-tasting, so it was delicious.

The side dishes were nicely simple too!

Neatly arranged basic side dishes

Mixed the yukhoe bibimbap up really thoroughly~~ and mixed, the gochujang color looks so pretty haha. I'm getting hungry again just looking at it now...!!

There was actually a generous amount of yukhoe in it, so I got to enjoy plenty of raw beef right up to the last bite! The cabbage was crisp, the yukhoe was soft and sweet and delicious, and the gochujang sauce was so tasty too — the combination was great! The portion was generous too, so I was completely full by the end!

Deumppuk jjageuli, 13,500 won: kimchi jjageuli loaded with pork

Next up is the deumppuk jjageuli! A bright soft-boiled egg sits on top of the rice, with kimchi jjageuli loaded with pork, plus gim flakes and sesame oil on the side!

The kimchi jjageuli with pork definitely had a different, deeper broth flavor! There was plenty of meat in it, and the other vegetables and ingredients were generous too!

Poured the gim flakes and sesame oil over the rice and mixed it deliciously~~ a big spoonful of kimchi jjigae and rice together!!

It's so good... Koreans really do love Korean food the most!!
