Euljiro3-ga restaurant menu order tips for three: Pyu Euljiro

In short

Pyu Euljiro is a Western restaurant in Jung-gu, Seoul, about a five-minute walk from Euljiro3-ga Station, where the wide spacing between tables suits small wedding-invitation meetups and blind dates. Three diners shared bisque pasta, charcoal-grilled octopus with romesco, tomato risotto and grilled yuzu chicken thigh, with two non-alcoholic drinks and a beer. Because so many of the dishes at Pyu Euljiro come in strong sauces, the yuzu chicken thigh is better eaten first.

Today I'm sharing my review of Pyu Euljiro, the last stop on my series of wedding-invitation meetup spots.

Where is Pyu Euljiro and when is it open?

How does Pyu Euljiro work for a wedding-invitation meetup?

Pyu Euljiro is a really clean, delicious restaurant reachable within a 5-minute walk from Euljiro3-ga Station. The place is spacious and the tables are spread out generously, so we could eat quietly in a nice atmosphere. The interior and vibe were so good that I thought this would also make a great spot for a blind date!

Welcome card with the guest's name at Pyu Euljiro

After I made a Naver reservation, my name and a thoughtfully made welcome card were waiting on the table. It might seem like a small thing, but it made me feel properly taken care of the moment I sat down. The friends who came to receive the wedding invitation also felt that same attentive care, so I'd say this place is a great choice for anyone planning a wedding-invitation gathering.

There was also a SHARE SET on the menu, a set meant for two people to order together. I'd strongly recommend it to anyone on a date in Euljiro. (That bisque pasta and charcoal octopus with romesco are genuinely delicious.)

Pyu Euljiro's menu and its one-drink-per-person rule

This is Pyu's menu. The left page is the food menu, the right is the drinks menu. The menu was elegant and clean, with clear photos of each dish, which meant I didn't have to agonize over what to order. You know how it is when a menu has no photos and you can't figure out what a dish actually is — having photos on this menu was a big help in choosing.

Gyullurala, a non-alcoholic drink with tangerine and yuzu

Dinner at Pyu requires one drink per person. Since there were three of us, we ordered a variety.

  • Bergamore (a non-alcoholic drink blended with strawberry)
  • Gyullurala (a non-alcoholic drink with tangerine, yuzu, and lemongrass)
  • Cheongdam-dong Myeoneuri (a smooth, mellow beer with caramel and toasted cookie notes)

Having non-alcoholic options meant more choices, and they paired really well with what we ordered!

Four plates shared between three diners

Pyu Euljiro's bisque pasta topped with shrimp

The first dish out was the bisque pasta. Plump shrimp topped it, and a deeply reduced shrimp sauce was the kicker of the whole dish! It was my first time having pasta made with shrimp sauce, and it was really, really good.

Charcoal-grilled octopus served with romesco sauce
A plate of plump charcoal-grilled octopus legs

The second dish was charcoal-grilled octopus. The legs were genuinely plump, and the moment you bit in, the juices (?) practically burst out. Not chewy at all, and the romesco sauce matched it perfectly. The sauce was so good that I scraped up the very last bit with a spoon, haha.

Tomato risotto with grilled vegetables

The third dish was the tomato risotto. It came with various grilled vegetables and a clean tomato sauce! It felt a bit strongly seasoned, but I still enjoyed it a lot. Between the pasta and the octopus, the sauces were so good I couldn't stop scraping the plates.

Grilled chicken thigh with yuzu ponzu sauce

Why the yuzu chicken thigh is better eaten first

The last dish was the yuzu chicken thigh. Everyone knows how tender chicken thigh meat is, right? It melted in the mouth, haha. It matched so well with the yuzu ponzu sauce that it ate wonderfully refreshing. Personally, I loved that brightness, but I also found it even tastier dipping bits into the leftover romesco and bisque pasta sauces, haha.

The three dishes that came before it all had fairly strong sauces, so the yuzu chicken thigh, eaten last, can end up tasting a bit weak by comparison. I'd recommend others eat the chicken thigh first. Or, like I did, you can dip it in the other sauces and enjoy it that way just as well.

Wrapping up three months of wedding-invitation meetups

And with that, this long, long series of wedding-invitation meetups has come to an end. Starting in July and running through September, I really went through so many of these gatherings. At first I searched extensively for where to hold them, and agonized over it a whole lot. Especially once I actually went through it — if you don't set a budget in advance, you really do end up spending a lot of money without thinking.

So I started this series of wedding-invitation meetup posts hoping it might be even a little bit of help to the many soon-to-be-newlyweds out there weighing everything from venue choice to budget. I hope this honest review helps anyone still deliberating over where to hold their own wedding-invitation gathering. ✨
