Euljiro 3-ga soju bar full makchang course: Baegyeom Makchang
In short
Baegyeom Makchang Euljiro Main Branch is a Daegu-style makchang (grilled pork intestine) bar right outside Euljiro 3-ga Station in Jung-gu, Seoul. A group of drinking friends worked through the full course — kkodeul-mokssal (chewy pork jowl), makchang sundae (blood sausage stuffed in intestine), Daegu-style makchang and jeotgal fried rice — and the house-ground soybean makchang sauce stood out, with no funky smell at all. For makchang sundae alongside soju, Baegyeom Makchang is the answer.

Hey everyone! It's Park-bong Jangchaekim!!
Today I went all out with my fellow drinking buddies to check out one of hip Euljiro's hottest spots — 'Baegyeom Makchang'!!

Makchang with zero funky smell and pure savoriness, chewy kkodeul-mokssal, the rare delicacy makchang sundae, and umami-bomb jeotgal fried rice — we absolutely demolished the full course. Here's my honest review haha.
Where is Baegyeom Makchang Euljiro Main Branch, and what are its hours?

Outdoor tent-market look, easygoing room inside

The place looks good from the entrance already haha. The tent-market feel by the entrance tables is insane >_<

Euljiro has gotten so hip lately, it's packed with young people!! Waiting-hell everywhere you go ㅠㅠㅠ

But!!! We booked through Naver Reservations and our table was ready and waiting haha hehe, perfect for drinking on schedule!!

It's literally right in front of Euljiro 3-ga Station, so even wobbly drunk friends can find it easily!! The interior is clean with spaced-out tables, perfect for a work dinner or group gathering in Euljiro after hours, and the lighting and mood make it great for a date course too. That tent-market vibe is absolutely crazy right now haha — it's going to feel like Siberia out there soon, so now's the time!!
What's on the Baegyeom Makchang menu?

So here's the menu haha, a lineup that makes the soju flow real smooth!!
As soon as we sat down, true to a bunch of drinkers, we ordered one of every signature dish haha.
Eating the full course: pork jowl, makchang sundae, Daegu makchang
Kkodeul-mokssal (chewy pork jowl)

Kkodeul-mokssal — I didn't even think of this, but drinking buddy #1 looked it up and insisted we order it!! The texture is exactly like the name says, insane haha. Chewy yet bursting with juice with every bite, the kind of first taste that makes you clink soju glasses instantly!! So nutty and savory, absolutely crazy haha.

Makchang sundae (blood sausage stuffed in intestine)
Makchang sundae isn't easy to find elsewhere!! But Jangchaekim really loves this dish haha, it's one of the reasons we came to Baegyeom Makchang!! It might be a love-it-or-hate-it thing, but it's a delicacy among delicacies!!
It was packed full inside, so the chew was seriously satisfying — a perfect drinking companion haha.

Daegu-style makchang and the house soybean sauce
As for the Daegu makchang, words fail me!! Baegyeom Makchang is a place where you can eat real Daegu-style makchang, carefully salt-aged, right in the middle of Seoul's Euljiro!! Zero funky smell, crispy outside and moist-chewy inside ㅠ. Dip the well-cooked makchang deep into the house-made Daegu-style ground-soybean makchang sauce, top it with a pepper, and the nuttiness explodes all through your mouth!

Finishing with jeotgal fried rice
After demolishing the meat and makchang, there's a side you absolutely cannot skip — finishing with jeotgal (salted seafood) fried rice!!! It comes topped with squid jeotgal, and while the hot pot is still steaming, you mix it all up and take a bite!!
That briny, umami-loaded jeotgal flavor soaks into every grain of rice, so one bite in and you're saying 'wow, imagine if we hadn't ordered this.' Pile the leftover meat and makchang on top and it's seriously the best... I scraped the pot clean down to the last spoonful haha.
Big eater Jangchaekim's final verdict on Baegyeom Makchang
I already love makchang a lot, but finding a clean Daegu-style makchang spot with no pork smell right in the middle of Euljiro was a total surprise haha. And makchang sundae!! That's hard to find ㅠㅠ. Being able to eat makchang and makchang sundae together in one sitting — how good is that >_<
That nutty, savory flavor calls for soju the moment it hits your mouth!! Total bottomless eating haha. Euljiro is super crowded and popular these days, but among all the spots, this one — 'Baegyeom Makchang' — where you can eat real Daegu makchang, is a must-visit haha.
Drinking buddies, you have to go here!! Total soju pairing.
