My boyfriend and I recently celebrated our 4th anniversary! Since we've been together for so long, I wanted this one to feel a bit more special than our usual dates haha. It was an anniversary after all, so I wanted somewhere with a nice atmosphere where we could eat well and enjoy ourselves. We'd also planned to go up N Seoul Tower afterward, so I searched hard for a dining spot near Euljiro with good vibes for an anniversary. That's how I found Pyu Euljiro, where everything from the food to the wine looked appealing — so we went right away!

Pyu Euljiro is a dining spot full of atmosphere near Euljiro3-ga Station. It's within 7 minutes' walk of the station, so it's easy to reach by public transit, and since parking is available, it's also convenient to drive there!

There was a menu board set up outside, so I gave it a full look-over. Every item had a photo attached, which made it easy to figure out what was what haha.

Inside Pyu Euljiro: interior and seating for an anniversary dinner
Inside, Pyu Euljiro is a cozy, atmospheric space made up of floor-to-ceiling windows. I'd already caught a glimpse of the mood through the glass from outside the building, but once inside it felt even cozier and more atmospheric.

The space had a variety of table setups — from 2-seat tables good for couples like us, to 4-seat tables and group seating.
There were also seats further inside past the cooking area — these inner seats had no window view, but offered a more private meal. Since we'd made a reservation ahead of time, they set aside a table for us!

From the tableware to the tables to the overall space, everything felt clean and sophisticated — it seemed like a great fit not just for an anniversary like ours, but also for a blind date or a wedding invitation meetup.

What comes in the ₩99,000 two-person sharing set, plus wine
We ordered the ₩99,000 two-person sharing set along with two glasses of Cuna de Sol Sauvignon Blanc at ₩12,000 each. There were so many menu options that it was hard to decide, so we went with the sharing set. It let us taste a variety of dishes at once — fresh salad, bisque pasta (swappable), charcoal-grilled octopus with romesco, crispy eggplant fritter, and four seasons sorbet. For wine with the set, we ordered two glasses of the Cuna de Sol Sauvignon Blanc!

Fresh salad
The first dish of the sharing set was the fresh salad! It was a clean, refreshing salad, perfect as a starter.

It came with fresh leafy greens, tangy orange, and pickled tomato. The slightly bitter greens paired with the sweet-tart orange and tomato really opened up my appetite haha.

What does Cuna de Sol Sauvignon Blanc taste like?
The wine came out with the salad. My boyfriend and I don't drink wine that often, so we deliberated for a while before finally ordering a white. It was a fruity white wine that paired well with the tangy salad. It was less sweet than I expected, with a fairly heavy finish, which made it nice to sip little by little as each course came out haha. Personally, I felt it would pair better with seafood dishes than something like steak!

Bisque pasta
After cleansing our palate with the salad, the first dish we tried was the bisque pasta — a soft pasta packed with plump shrimp and rich seafood aroma.
Before we started eating, they told us to stir the champagne foam on top of the bisque pasta until it blended in well, so I stirred away diligently haha.

Oh... my boyfriend made a heart out of the shrimp for me. So sweet haha.

With the bisque pasta, the shrimp were so plump and full that I really got to enjoy their signature sweetness and firm texture. The noodles were cooked perfectly too — not overdone or undercooked — so the flavor of the seafood and sauce had soaked in completely. From texture to taste, nothing was lacking; this was one of the dishes I'd strongly recommend.

The signature charcoal-grilled octopus with romesco
The charcoal-grilled octopus with romesco is apparently Pyu Euljiro's signature dish, so it was the one I was most excited for. The plump octopus came with a spicy romesco sauce, black wood ear mushroom, dill, and other toppings — simple looking, but layered with different flavors.
They recommended eating it right away, since octopus gets chewy quickly once it cools. Just looking at how thick the octopus pieces were, I was already impressed!

Dipping the octopus generously in the sauce, the thick, satisfying bite was wonderful, and the subtle charcoal aroma paired beautifully with the slightly spicy sauce. My boyfriend had kept saying he wanted steak instead of octopus, but the moment he tried a bite he admitted it was the best dish so far haha. The sauce was so good we ended up scraping the plate clean.

Crispy eggplant fritters
The last of the main dishes was the crispy eggplant fritter! I don't usually go for eggplant, so I ordered it without much expectation — but visually it barely looked like eggplant at all.

Despite being called 'crispy,' it wasn't the kind of fritter that scrapes the roof of your mouth — more of a crisp-outside, tender-inside texture.
I was surprised the moment I took a bite! Instead of the usual mushy eggplant, it had a moist, mousse-like texture that let the eggplant's natural sweetness and softness shine through — plus, anything fried tastes good, right? It reminded me a bit of sweet potato mousse, just slightly less sweet and even more moist — a real standout dish.

Four seasons sorbet, made with basil and tomato
To finish, the four seasons sorbet arrived — a basil tomato sorbet. It was so cute and dainty looking that I took a bunch of photos haha.

With its pink color, tomato was the more obvious note visually, so I expected a plain tomato sorbet — but it was surprisingly full of basil aroma and flavor, which was a fun surprise. I love basil tomato ade normally, and this felt like that ade reimagined as a sorbet. It was the perfect dessert to wash down everything that came before it.
