Songcheon Eco City kalguksu restaurant with private rooms: Eonyang Dak
In short
Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Songcheon-dong Eco City Branch is a chicken kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) restaurant built on chicken bone broth, on Songcheon-jungang-ro in Deokjin-gu, Jeonju. Over dinner with his parents the writer ordered dak kalguksu at 11,000 won, dak gomtang at 11,000 won and a bowl of rice at 1,000 won, and spooning spicy silbi kimchi over the noodles kept every bite clean rather than heavy. With its own parking lot and private room seating, Eonyang Dak Kalguksu is an easy choice for a family dinner.

When the summer heat wears you down or you just want something hot and hearty to fill you up, there's one dish that naturally comes to mind — fighting heat with heat. Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Songcheon-dong Eco City Branch, near Eco City in Jeonju, is apparently already well known among locals for its milky chicken bone broth simmered for hours and its house-made noodles. I stopped by for a simple dinner with my parents and left genuinely satisfied. It's near the Songcheon Eco City public apartments, and Jeonbuk National University Hospital and Jeonju Zoo are also nearby.

For anyone driving, there's a private parking space right in front of the restaurant, so you can bring family or friends without worrying about parking.
Inside and outside Eonyang Dak Kalguksu in Songcheon Eco City

This is the exterior of Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Songcheon-dong Eco City Branch.

The interior is spacious, clean and tidy — it felt refreshing the moment I walked in.

There are group tables and private room seating too, perfect for gatherings or family dinners.

There's a self-service bar, plus baby utensils and a high chair. Disposable aprons too :)

It was also nice that there's a restroom inside the restaurant.
What's on the menu at Eonyang Dak Kalguksu?

The menu is built around a chicken bone broth simmered for a long time with care, ranging from full meals to seasonal specialties and sides. There's the signature dak kalguksu and dak gomtang, plus an Eonyang-style kalguksu without chicken toppings, made to highlight the clean, deep flavor of the broth itself.

Apparently they use a rich chicken bone broth simmered for 24 hours, house-made noodles aged at minus 3 degrees Celsius, and perilla seeds mixed in. There's also refreshing chojjebiingmyeon (cold vinegar-sauce noodles) and bibim milmyeon (spicy mixed wheat noodles), chewy-soft dumplings that pair well with kalguksu or gomtang, and jjimdak (braised chicken) and boneless grilled chicken feet good for sharing.
What we ordered for dinner with my parents

We ordered dak kalguksu (₩11,000), dak gomtang (₩11,000) and a bowl of rice (₩1,000).

The basic side dishes are pickled radish and geotjeori, a fresh kimchi made from domestic cabbage that's apparently prepared fresh every morning.

Dak kalguksu, 11,000 won
Dak kalguksu (₩11,000) is the signature dish, served with half a chicken's worth of tender meat and chewy house-made noodles in a broth simmered for 24 hours.

You get a generously sized chicken leg and wing on top.

The savory, milky broth pairs beautifully with the aged house-made noodles, which had picked up the seasoning nicely. Adding a piece of spicy silbi kimchi on top makes it even better, haha.

Dak gomtang, 11,000 won
Dak gomtang (₩11,000) is the one to get if you'd rather have clean, easy-on-the-stomach rice instead of noodles.

It also comes loaded with half a chicken's worth of meat.

The deep flavor of the chicken bone broth blended well with the tender chicken meat — mixing in rice with some diced radish kimchi or spicy kimchi made for a clean but filling, comforting meal.
Is Eonyang Dak Kalguksu worth it for a family dinner?
Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Songcheon-dong Eco City Branch is a great-value comfort food spot where the rich, long-simmered chicken bone broth pairs perfectly with chewy house-made noodles. Both the dak kalguksu, topped with savory broth and tender chicken, and the dak gomtang, which fills you up gently, were genuinely delicious. The spicy silbi kimchi cut through the richness perfectly. The staff's friendly greetings kept the mood pleasant throughout the meal, and the spacious dining room plus private parking made things easy. When you need a boost of energy on a hot day or a hot bowl of soup to settle your stomach, I'd highly recommend this place for a family meal or a gathering.
