Solo BBQ for one at Chadolpung, a Namyangju Korean BBQ restaurant

I visited a Namyangju Dasan restaurant for solo dining — a place specializing in beef brisket and beef tripe. Lots of tables and menus sized for 1–2 people made it perfect for eating alone haha. Right now they're running a 6th-anniversary event: usamgyeop (beef short rib strips) 3+1 for ₩20,700 haha. It's a great BBQ spot to eat well for a low price. So let's START.

Where is Chadolpung Dasan Station Branch, and what are its hours?

Chadolpung Dasan Station Branch is at 22-74 Dasanjungang-ro 123beon-gil, 1st floor, Namyangju-si, Gyeonggi-do, and it's open daily from 11:00 to 23:00 with no break time. There's a building parking lot available too.

It's a 3-minute walk from Exit 6 of Dasan Station — a real Namyangju Dasan favorite of mine. No break time, and the brisket is so cheap that I drop by regularly. Plenty of tables and menus for 1–2 people made it great for solo BBQ.

Chadolpung menu prices: how much are the lunch specials?

Brisket (chadolbagi) is ₩7,500 per 100g and usamgyeop is ₩6,500 per 100g. Lunch specials: raw beef bibimbap and tornado jjamppong are ₩9,900, and brisket ramyeon, kimchi noodle soup, and bibim noodles are ₩6,500.

A sneak peek at the menu. They also sell skirt steak, hanger steak, kkotsal (flower cut beef), and raw beef. Kkotsal is the priciest at ₩14,900 per 100g, but that's still very cheap compared to other BBQ places! You can't even get meat that price at the market these days. The lunch specials are especially cheap, so it's a good spot for lunch too.

For their 6th-anniversary thank-you event, Chadolpung is running a usamgyeop 3+1 deal, and soju and beer are just ₩3,000. The event runs through the whole month of September.

They also sell beef tripe (gopchang). I got the 200g brisket + 200g tripe combo haha. I used the building parking lot — it's spacious with spots always available, so Dasan is great if you're driving haha. It's also easy to reach on foot; about 3 minutes from Exit 6 of Dasan Station.

Can one person reserve a table at Chadolpung?

Chadolpung Dasan Station Branch takes reservations starting from a single person. There are lots of tables that can be rearranged, so it also works well for group bookings.

Besides brisket and beef tripe, they also serve various other cuts, and they're all reasonably priced.

Interestingly, they also sell an assorted tripe platter. 550g for ₩59,900 — the beef tripe is on the cheaper side too.

Pre-set sauces on the table: soy sauce and salt. I personally love dipping meat in salt, so this was totally my thing.

Pickled onions, bean sprouts, scallion shreds, and other side dishes that paired well with the meat.

The set is listed for 1–2 people, but eating it alone as a woman, I got way too full?! Nice touch that the beef tripe comes with bean sprouts too.

How to grill the beef tripe and brisket, and how they taste

Chadolpung's beef tripe comes pre-cooked, so you just grill the outside until crisp. Once the fat on the sides melts away, it's clean with no gamey smell at all.

The cheese rice cake that comes with it is so good too haha. Cooking it in the brisket and tripe fat makes it extra crispy and delicious.

The perks of solo BBQ — no one judges you for eating this much alone lol. It does have a bit of chew to it, so I'd recommend cutting it up as you eat. Plenty of gop (intestinal fat) inside and really tasty.

Full of gop and nutty in flavor, the beef tripe was delicious. I'd recommend eating it with the bean sprouts.

True to the name Chadolpung, the brisket was the best of all — tender and easy to keep slurping down.

The cheese rice cake was seriously my favorite!! Fried in the brisket and tripe fat, it came out crispy outside and soft inside — so good!!

Final verdict on solo Korean BBQ at Chadolpung Dasan Station Branch

The beef tripe just didn't seem to run out no matter how much I ate! Once I started getting a little tired of it, I grilled some kimchi alongside. A Namyangju Dasan restaurant where you can eat brisket at a reasonable price. The brisket quality was excellent, nutty and savory in a way that makes you crave a drink haha. They also have outdoor tables, so grilling outside on a cool night would be great too. Highly, highly recommend.
