For anyone who loves bread, the front of a bakery is a dangerous place. You always go in thinking "I'll just buy a couple!" and somehow walk out with a bag full... haha.
This time I visited Byway Bakers Byeollae Branch, a place that kept popping up in recommendations for Byeollae salt bread spots. I figured it would just be a plain bakery with salt bread, but once inside I found menu items that made me go "wait, that's salt bread?" — so just browsing was already fun.

Where is Byway Bakers Byeollae Branch, and what are its hours?
The orange BYWAY BAKERS sign is big enough that I found the place right away. The address is 27-10 Deoksong2-ro 10beon-gil, 1st floor, Unit 104, Namyangju-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, and it's open 09:00 – 20:00.
It's also close to Exit 4 of Byeollae Byeolgaram Station, so it's easy to reach by public transit. Seemed like a good spot to stop by quickly and pick up bread or dessert to go.

Wakppu salt bread: fruit nets on the bakery shelf
The first thing that grabbed my attention walking into Byway Bakers Byeollae Branch was the wakppu salt bread! The name alone is unusual, but the look is even more so, haha. With visuals resembling peach, blueberry, and corn, plus actual fruit netting wrapped around them, at first glance I genuinely thought it was the fruit section. Who came up with this idea...

Up close it's even more surprising. There were varieties like fresh peach yogurt, fresh blueberry yogurt, fig bacheese, and sweet corn from Chodang — quite a range. If you prefer unique desserts over plain bread, you'll spend a while deliberating here. It's also perfect for anyone hunting for visually striking desserts for social media these days. I understood why 'recommended Byeollae salt bread' keeps coming up for this place.

Financier packs at Byway Bakers: good for gifts?
Next to the wakppu salt bread, financier packages were also on offer. If you're buying several financiers, you can choose package options like a salty 5-pack, a choice 5-pack, or a choice 10-pack, which seemed good for gifts. Since they're individually wrapped, this could also work as office snacks, thank-you gifts, or group snacks in Byeollae.

If you're buying multiple, checking the package deals rather than picking individually one by one might be smarter. Besides the choice 5-pack and 10-pack, there's also a basic salt bread 4-pack, which seemed handy for bringing snacks when visiting family or friends.

Basic salt bread at 2,900 won, 4-pack at 9,900 won
Still, you can't skip the basic salt bread when visiting a salt bread bakery! At Byway Bakers Byeollae Branch, the basic salt bread was listed at ₩2,900, and a 4-pack at ₩9,900. Even just the golden-brown baked color looked properly done.
There are so many types of salt bread these days, but having the basic option sold alongside the fancier ones made it easy to choose based on preference.

Golden egg tart and Hong Kong pineapple bun
And another thing that stopped me in front of the display case... the golden egg tart! Priced at ₩3,800. The golden-brown baked custard part practically said "I'm delicious~" to me. Even just looking at it, the pastry layers seemed quite thick, and I wanted to make sure to add one next time. If you're looking for a good egg tart spot in Byeollae, this is worth checking out too.

Wait, what's this?! The Hong Kong pineapple bun. Apparently it's a Hong Kong-style dessert where you put cold butter between a warm pineapple bun. Priced at ₩4,500. I looked at the egg tart, then the pineapple bun, then back to the financiers... I came to pick bread and ended up with serious decision paralysis, haha.

Ham-and-cheese salt bread, egg salt bread and drinks
There was also salt bread that could work as a meal substitute. Types filled generously inside like ham cheese salt bread and egg salt bread meant that people who prefer savory, filling bread over sweet desserts had plenty to choose from too. "Salt bread can transform this much?" — that's how varied it was.

You can also order drinks to go with the bread. Americano, latte, vanilla latte, iced tea, and ade were all available, and the prices weren't too heavy either! Bread plus a cup of coffee — that combo is just too good to pass up.

Picking salty, almond chocolate and gold cheese financiers
If you're looking for a good financier spot in Byeollae, make sure to check out the financier lineup at Byway Bakers Byeollae Branch too. With varieties like salty, almond chocolate, and gold cheese on display, it was fun trying to pick different ones. The deeply baked exterior is exactly my style!

In the end, I couldn't resist the financiers either, haha. Opening the box, each one was individually wrapped, which felt clean, and it was convenient for storage since you didn't have to eat them all at once. Financiers especially pair well with coffee, so they also seemed like a good choice when looking for Byeollae dessert gift sets.

The prettiest pick: fresh blueberry yogurt wakppu salt bread
And today's visual star! The fresh blueberry yogurt wakppu salt bread inside a purple net. No matter how you look at it, this looks more like fruit than bread, haha. With a blueberry even placed on top, it's the kind of visual you'd want to show someone and ask, "guess what fruit this is?"
It's a salt bread with a strong sweet dessert vibe, so it should especially catch the eye of anyone looking for something a bit different from the usual basic salt bread.

Is Byway Bakers a good bakery for takeout in Byeollae?
What I found interesting above all was that Byway Bakers Byeollae Branch doesn't stop at 'salt bread = basic salt bread.' From the basic salt bread to ham cheese, egg, castella-style items, and even fully dessert-ified items like the wakppu salt bread — it almost feels like a place experimenting with how far a single salt bread concept can go.
I walked in expecting an ordinary neighborhood bakery, but Byway Bakers Byeollae Branch had far more variety than I expected, which made browsing genuinely fun. The visually unique wakppu salt bread and the many financier varieties especially stuck with me.
If you're looking for a place to pick up bread in Byeollae, want a slightly different dessert, or need gift-worthy baked treats, it's worth a stop! Those of you who, like me, get decision paralysis in front of salt bread... brace yourselves before going in. "I'll just buy one" probably won't happen, haha.
