Honey bacon rosé pasta at a Yeonnam-dong restaurant: Hôtel de Couture

In short

Hôtel de Couture is a Western restaurant in Yeonnam-dong, Seoul, set on the 1.5th floor of a corner building a 10-minute walk from Exit 3 of Hongik University Station. Arriving at 11:10am on a Sunday meant walking straight in with no wait, and the meal was honey tong bacon rosé pasta plus jambon truffle cream risotto — a queue formed right after the table was taken. Between the atmosphere and the food, Hôtel de Couture is an easy recommendation for a Yeonnam-dong date meal.

The restaurant is called 'Hôtel de Couture.' It's on the corner of the building, with its own staircase off to the side.

Arriving at 11:10am on a Sunday — was there a wait at Hôtel de Couture?

I'd also seen Hey Georgy pop up while searching around Yeonnam — turns out it's the same owner's second restaurant! I'll have to check that one out next time.

I got there around 11:10am on a Sunday, and luckily walked straight in without waiting. But the timing was really something — the second I sat down, a line started forming right behind me..! A little later and I would've been waiting too. Opening time is 11am, so it really seems like everyone does an opening run here.

One thing worth bragging about (?) on Hôtel de Couture's behalf — hygiene really matters when you're eating out, right? This place is designated a 'Safe Restaurant' by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, so you can eat here with confidence!

Inside Hôtel de Couture: vintage interior and window seats

Step inside and a warm, vintage interior greets you. Wood-tone furniture mixed with wine bottles and little decorative touches scattered around — it definitely felt like a space made to win women's hearts.

We sat at a window-side table, and it looked like it'd be great for photos once the sunlight streams in.

What we ordered: honey tong bacon rosé pasta and jambon truffle cream risotto

We ordered this place's signature dishes — the 'honey tong bacon rosé pasta' and the 'jambon truffle cream risotto.' Let me show you the gorgeous full shot of both first.

The food is just... isn't it too pretty?

1. Honey tong bacon rosé pasta — two kinds of bacon

The visuals alone are insane. The biggest feature of this pasta is that it comes with not one but two kinds of bacon!

Thick whole bacon pieces on top of the rosé pasta

Thick, chunky bacon pieces are scattered on top, and there's thin bacon mixed into the sauce too, so every bite has something fun to chew on. Best of all was the taste — there's a hint of spiciness that keeps it from feeling greasy at all, so it went down easily.

Pasta noodles coated in thick rosé sauce

The sauce isn't watery — it's thick and clings to the noodles, so it genuinely felt like eating a high-quality pasta.

2. Jambon truffle cream risotto — a chewy whole-grain texture

This one was just as satisfying as the pasta. I worried the truffle in the name might mean an overpowering scent, but once I tasted it, the smooth, rich cream flavor was much stronger than the truffle aroma, making it easy to like for anyone.

The texture especially was excellent. Risotto is usually made with rice alone and ends up watery, almost melting in texture, but Hôtel de Couture's risotto has grains mixed in with the rice, giving it a crunchy bite that was really appealing.

On top, jambon is piled on generously,

Jambon and egg yolk on top of the risotto

and for the finishing touch, mixing in the egg yolk dropped in the middle with the cheese sent the savoriness through the roof. Once the salty jambon mixed with the cream, I couldn't help but think, this chef really knows flavor.

Is Hôtel de Couture in Yeonnam-dong worth a visit?

The food quality was high and the atmosphere was so nice that I felt pampered the whole meal. Turns out people aren't waiting in line for no reason!! There's a reason it's famous. If you're planning a foolproof "Yeonnam-dong date meal," definitely stop by once.🤍
