When you're trying to figure out what to eat in Seongbok-dong, Suji, there are actually plenty of options, but it's not easy to satisfy everyone's taste at once. Especially when eating with kids or a bigger group, you end up looking for a place where everyone can order what they each want rather than somewhere specializing in just one dish. This spot we visited fit that need perfectly!

It's known as a Seongbok-dong restaurant famous for its deep, rich broth, and being a noodle specialist with chewy noodles and strong broth, the menu turned out to be pretty extensive. From warm soupy dishes like udon and guksu to jjolmyeon, buckwheat noodles, bibimbap, pork cutlet and fried items — there was something for every age and taste.

Chilseong Jemyeonso Suji Branch is less than a 5-minute drive from Seongbok Station, so it's convenient for anyone looking for a meal near the station. Seongbok-dong itself is a mix of residential area and commercial district, so it's easy for locals to drop by for a meal, and it's not far for people coming by car from the station either. The Seongbok Star Hills parking lot had plenty of space and free parking, so it was a comfortable visit.

33 noodle dishes and how busy Chilseong Jemyeonso is late on a weekend

The biggest highlight of Chilseong Jemyeonso was definitely the variety of dishes. As shown on the banner, they confidently offer 33 dishes. It's not just a few types of udon or guksu — alongside various noodle dishes, you can also enjoy pork cutlet, dumplings, and other fried items.

Even though it was late on a weekend, a lot of seats were already filled, so popular that we only got to take a photo of our table after we'd finished eating.

With several of us there to share, we tried ordering a good mix — something soupy, something spicy. It's a kiosk-ordering system with photos included, which made choosing really convenient.

Charcoal beef brisket udon at Chilseong Jemyeonso

The first thing we ordered was the charcoal beef brisket udon. It's a dish where smoky charcoal-grilled beef brisket, chewy udon noodles, and a deep, rich broth all come together. Because the udon has beef brisket in it, it had more savory richness from the meat than a regular udon — really nice.
