Ring-making workshop in Suwon: mother-daughter rings at Loventa
In short
Loventa Suwon Haenggung is a private ring-making workshop in Haenggung-dong, Suwon, Gyeonggi. Making rings in Haenggung-dong for a birthday date with my mom
For my birthday, I went on a date with my mom. I wanted us to do something meaningful and memorable, so we decided to make matching rings. We made them ourselves at Loventa Suwon Haenggung, a ring-making workshop in Haenggung-dong.
It was even more satisfying than I expected because we could make our rings calmly together in a private, elegant setting. We made them beautifully, put them on for each other, and decided to wear them again on our Eastern Europe trip at the end of September for some lovely photos. :) Since we made them ourselves, they felt extra meaningful, and I wanted to recommend this place to people around me, too.
A private ring-making workshop in Haenggung-dong

On a day with perfect weather, we went to Loventa, a private-room ring workshop in Haenggung-dong. We visited with a reservation. The ring-making experience takes about 1 hour, followed by about 1 hour of professional finishing by the staff, so you can collect your completed rings the same day in roughly 2 hours.
That makes it easy to plan a date around it—walk around Haenggung-dong or stop at a café after making the rings. General customers can reserve from 11:00 to 19:30, with last order at 19:30, so even a later visit can still result in same-day completion.
For parking, we used the public lot right nearby. I heard it is free but usually difficult to find a space there. Since it was a weekday afternoon, luckily there was a spot and we parked comfortably.
Loventa is on the third floor, reached by stairs

Loventa is on the third floor, and there is no elevator. We went up the stairs, and even the exterior felt polished and upscale. It is in a nice spot to drop into if you want a special activity while exploring Haenggung-dong, so I thought it would be great to plan a walk around the neighborhood before or after making rings.
A private room for one party at a time
A private space used by one party at a time

This is what the interior looks like. It is arranged as private rooms where one party can come in and make rings. The white and gray tones with a marble pattern made the space look much larger, and it had the stylish atmosphere of somewhere from a magazine. The tasteful accessories, white marble, and contrasting wood worktable worked beautifully together, so photos came out nicely, too.
What I loved most was that we did not have to worry much about other people watching while making our rings. Because each room is for one party, my mom and I could chat, choose our rings, and make them slowly together.
Our own space, separated by curtains
Each room has curtains like this, so you can close off the space when needed. It felt even more private, and I liked the quiet atmosphere of working together. The interior photographs well, so we took lots of selfies while making the rings, haha. More than simply a ring-making activity, it felt like a good choice for an anniversary or special date because you can spend time together and leave with photos, too.
Choosing by comparing ring designs and prices ourselves
First, choosing from the many ring designs
When you are ready, press the call bell inside and a staff member comes over to explain everything step by step. First they show you the range of designs, and you can choose the finish you want: glossy, matte, or diamond-cut shine. Once you choose a design, you can check its price right away on the pad.
Matching rings do not have to be limited to a women’s-and-men’s pairing, either. You can choose designs in any combination—women’s and women’s, men’s and men’s, or women’s and men’s. Since I was matching with my mom, we chose a women’s-and-women’s pairing.
Trying them on and checking prices as we chose

There were so many pretty designs that it took us a while to choose, haha. But this was actually my favorite part. When I had gone to look at rings in person before, I felt a little uncomfortable constantly having to ask staff, “Could I see this design?” “How much is this?” and “Could I see something similar?” That is why I often bought rings online, but then it was hard to know whether they suited my hand or how they would feel in person, and I sometimes made the wrong choice.

At Loventa in Haenggung-dong, though, the two of us could try on many different designs in a private space and check the prices immediately. It was comfortable to take our time examining the designs, trying them on, and comparing prices before choosing freely.
I especially liked that the staff did not stand beside us continually saying things like, “This suits you better,” or, “This one costs this much, but I’ll give you a discount,” and rushing our decision. Talking comfortably together—“This one is prettier,” “This suits us”—became one of the fun parts of making rings.
My mom and I chose designs that suited each of us
We considered two designs, and the one my mom chose had a slightly more classic feel. We decided to choose whichever design suited each of us best. I chose Obelia, and my mom chose Loventa. :) We chose the designs that looked best on each of us, while also making sure they worked beautifully together as a pair.
After making our choices, we called the staff member, who checked our chosen designs again and explained the prices once more. Then we chose the finish and measured our ring sizes. They provided sizing tools, so we could check for ourselves. The staff stepped away during this time, which meant we could take our time discussing which fingers to wear them on and which sizes felt most comfortable.
Being able to go through even this part privately felt like one of Loventa’s strengths. Once we had each settled on a size, we called the staff member back and they checked once more that our selected sizes were right. After that, it was time to begin making the rings in our chosen designs.
The ring-making process: refining the bands ourselves
The making process, where we refine the rings ourselves
Each worktable had an automatic drill and tools for filing the rings ourselves. At first I wondered how we were supposed to do it, but it was not difficult because the staff demonstrated first, explained it clearly, and then had us follow along. There were tools for refining the sides, the top and bottom surfaces, and for use like sandpaper, all prepared by stage. At the end, we also used powered equipment to refine and polish the rings.
The design is for the experts; we refine the band section
At first, I wondered how we would make our selected designs ourselves, but fortunately(?) we were not making the design itself, hahaha. The staff marked positions on the rings with a marker, and we refined the band section below those marks. They showed us a demonstration first, then we did the work ourselves, so it was easy to follow. The staff checked in throughout and explained the next steps, too.
Gradually shaping the rings
We began by carefully refining the slightly uneven band sections. At first I wondered whether I was doing it right, but as I filed little by little, it was amazing to see the lines become even and the shape turn smooth. I could not always tell just by looking and would think, “Is this enough?” but the staff came by at every stage to check the condition and explain what was needed, which was reassuring.
Most of all, it felt easy because my mom and I could talk as we worked. It was our first time making rings, but rather than feeling difficult, it was fun to complete them step by step.

Our rings slowly taking shape :) They began as uneven forms, but it was fascinating to see the ring shape emerge as we filed them little by little. I thought the key to a ring workshop is definitely the design and quality, and I liked that Loventa lets you see and choose from many samples, from simple designs to dimensional, unique ones. It was not just an activity that ended there; I really felt that I was making the design I had chosen.
Finishing with powered tools and polishing
After refining them carefully by hand, we used powered equipment for the final smoothing and polish. My mom was surprisingly good at it, haha. She said it was a fun experience, which made me happy too. She said it was fun to try something like this thanks to her daughter, and that made me quietly proud.
We experienced the making process ourselves, but the rings are ultimately completed through professional finishing work. That made me look forward to a result that would make me think, “Can a ring I made myself really be this pretty?”
We also took commemorative photos after finishing
They took photos for us as we finished up. :) It felt like we had made one more memory, because we were able to preserve not only the fact that we made rings ourselves but also the process. After we finished, the staff would do the final work on our rings and contact us when they were ready about 1 hour later. The making experience itself takes about 1 hour, and same-day completion is available in about 2 hours including the professional finishing.
We could explore the Haenggung-dong area or spend time at a café in the meantime, so it worked well for planning a date around the experience.

Before leaving, I noticed an area displaying sample rings. There were so many types of rings, and they had a different charm displayed this way. We found the designs we had selected once more and looked at the other designs, too.
Loventa says it continues to develop new designs through separate design research. Being able to compare all those different samples in one place made me think that people who care about design would enjoy choosing in person. They said they would contact us when the rings were finished, so we left the workshop and decided to wait over a cup of tea at a nearby café.
Our first matching rings, collected an hour later
An hour later, returning to collect the finished rings

An hour later, we got the call and returned to the workshop. Our beautiful rings were ready in a case. There were two case colors, green and ivory, and we chose green. Seeing the rings neatly placed in such an elegant case made the rings we had made ourselves seem even prettier.
Our first pair of matching rings, made with my mom

A pair of matching rings :) They were the first rings my mom and I had matched, and making them ourselves made them feel even more meaningful. I was happy that they seemed like a lovely gift for my mom, who is always beside me like a friend, a sister, and a mom. Buying one pretty ring and choosing a design to make together really do feel different. It felt as though the conversations and time we shared that day had been engraved into the rings, too.
Most of all, the finished rings were so pretty—I was completely satisfied! I think they would be lovely not only as couple rings, but also friendship rings or family rings. The biggest meaning is definitely making them yourselves and sharing them with each other. The staff said that many people also make each other’s rings and give them as gifts, haha. Next time, I thought it could be fun to make family rings together. Couples can make each other’s rings, friends can make friendship rings, and mothers and daughters like us can make family rings or commemorative rings—each would become a special memory.
No matter how much I looked at them, I could hardly believe I had made such high-quality rings myself. Of course, the professional staff did the final finishing, hahaha, but because I had refined them with my own hands, I felt even prouder.
Loventa says it values the materials and quality of the rings themselves, using inspected sterling silver 925 and moissanite, a diamond alternative, instead of cubic zirconia. After trying the experience and receiving the result, they felt less like simple activity rings and more like jewelry I would genuinely want to wear for a long time.

They are so pretty that I keep looking at them :) I was even happier because my mom liked hers too. The design she chose was a little more substantial, classic, and feminine, and it suited her so well, haha. I thought we should wear them beautifully on our Europe trip at the end of September and take lots of photos. Whenever I see the rings while traveling, I think the time I made them with my mom will naturally come back to me.
Care instructions and after-sales service
They prepared not only pretty ring cases but bags as well. I liked that they did not simply hand over the completed rings; they also explained how to care for them and how after-sales service works. Care matters if you want to wear handmade rings beautifully for a long time, so receiving guidance on this made me feel more at ease.
What I liked, and points to note
- Because each private room is used by one party at a time, I could choose and make rings comfortably with my mom.
- We could try on many designs, check the prices, and take plenty of time deciding.
- The ring-making process was easy to follow thanks to step-by-step explanations and demonstrations.
- After making them ourselves, we received high-quality rings finished professionally.
- The elegant cases and packaging, plus the care and after-sales service guidance, were all thorough.
One downside is that the workshop is on the third floor and has no elevator, so you need to use the stairs. Also, there are so many pretty designs that choosing can take quite a while. If you have a style in mind, it may be helpful to look at designs before your visit!
If you want to compare ring designs thoroughly, try them on yourself, and then choose, it could be nice to look for a ring-making workshop in Haenggung-dong where you can enjoy the experience at an unhurried pace in a private space. It takes about 2 hours including the activity and professional finishing, so it is convenient to plan the rest of your Haenggung-dong date afterward.
I truly loved this experience of making elegant, beautiful rings myself. More than simply getting matching rings with my mom, what I think I will remember most is choosing the designs, talking together, and making them side by side. Whenever I look at the completed rings, I think I will remember this birthday date and the time I spent with my mom.
Whether as couple rings for partners, friendship rings with friends, or family rings, making rings seems like a wonderful way to remember time spent together for a long time. My mom and I are planning to wear these rings together on our Eastern Europe trip at the end of September. I hope to leave another little memory of this day in our travel photos along with these beautiful rings. :)
