For our first wedding anniversary, we wanted natural Yeonnam-dong date photos

Our little married couple has already reached our first big milestone: our first wedding anniversary! 🤍 We’re genuinely serious about photos even in everyday life, so we put a lot of thought into how to remember this anniversary too 📸 But a grand, fully planned studio shoot felt like too much—we wanted to enjoy a Yeonnam-dong date as usual and capture pretty moments naturally 🌿

But! It’s a precious anniversary that comes only once a year, so we couldn’t just take a few casual snaps, right? After thoroughly searching for a bright, mood-filled space, we finally chose U&I Studio Hongdae Branch (유앤이 스튜디오 홍대점), which met our picky needs 200%!

As it turns out, it’s a popular spot not only for couples celebrating wedding anniversaries like us, but also for bridal showers, maternity photos, and children’s birthday self-photo sessions! 🥳 The space itself is so stylish and pretty that even casually taken shots have that Instagram-worthy mood 🤍

How can you choose the centerpiece color?

One of the biggest perks of U&I Studio Hongdae Branch is that you can choose the centerpiece color to suit your taste 💐 There are lots of prepared colors, including white, pink, and red!

We asked for a green-and-white setup that would go best with the clean white backdrop. It filled the frame naturally without being over the top, so even though it was a people-focused self-shoot, the photos never looked empty—they came out bright and beautiful. We were so pleased ✨

And it wasn’t only the centerpiece—there were so many photo props ready to use, including balloons, realistic-looking flower props, and novelty glasses 🎈

After taking a few shots in basic poses, we tried all kinds of props. Nothing felt awkward, and we were able to take those once-in-a-lifetime shots in lots of different concepts!

A 50-minute session in a private setting

At most other self-photo studios, the time limit is only around 15 to 20 minutes, so after trying a few poses, you’re busy rushing through your photos and heading out, right? 😭 Here, though, you get a full 50 minutes for the shoot, which gave us plenty of time to capture all kinds of angles and compositions at our leisure ⏰

Best of all, the kind staff member set up the lighting and camera at the beginning, then stepped away right away. Since it was a completely private self-photo shoot, we captured much more natural moments with just the two of us 💚

Even free photo-shoot outfits are provided

There are simple, easy-to-wear dresses in black and white for women, plus basic, neat suit sets for men. They even have a hair iron, bobby pins, and hair spray—perfect, right? For a once-only anniversary shoot, you can find yourself wondering whether you need to buy clothes in a style you never normally wear. But having such pretty outfits available in different sizes was genuinely useful and satisfying.
