Damaged-hair tone-down at a Hwaseong hair salon: Juno Hair

In short

Juno Hair Dongtan SRT Station Branch is a hair salon in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi, where I received a natural-brown tone-down color, a 1 cm trim, and a treatment for ₩180,000. My level 7–8 light hair was colored to level 3.5 to account for damage, and the color was still pretty after one week. Verdict: a salon I would confidently revisit for damaged-hair color care.

Hair before the tone-down color visit

After my layered cut and setting perm last time, all the color had faded out. Looking in the mirror was stressing me out so much. I don’t normally like light brown hair... sob (it doesn’t suit me either, and it makes how damaged my hair is super obvious). After thinking it over, I decided to cover it with a darker shade again. My hair was pretty damaged this time too, so I thought I should go to a large salon like Juno Hair, and headed to Juno Hair Dongtan SRT Station Branch. The result: sooo, soooo satisfying 💗💗

A spacious, private salon inspired by a temple

Temple-inspired interior at Juno Hair

Ahh, Juno Hair’s interior really is so pretty +_+ I looked it up, and apparently the name JUNO itself refers to Hera, the supreme goddess in Greco-Roman mythology. The Dongtan SRT Station Branch is designed around the temple where Hera lives, so it felt wonderfully grand from the entrance onward.

The counter was right there as soon as I walked in, so I didn’t have to awkwardly look around on my own—they welcomed me so brightly :) Their Juno Hair brand, Tria Milia, was on display too.

There was even a separate kids’ room on one side of the salon. It was my first time seeing a hair salon with play equipment 👶🏻🐥 I think it would be genuinely convenient for anyone bringing children along. The kids can play while you comfortably get your hair done, so you can book without worrying 🧸

They said it is 95 pyeong, and it definitely felt spacious. The white zone and brown zone are separated, so I never felt crowded by the client next to me. The stations are really far apart, and I loved how private the service felt 🤎

Spacious shampoo room with calm lighting

The shampoo room was quietly cozy too. Even the regular shampoo seats, not just the treatment zone, had calm lighting and plenty of space, so leaning my neck back was comfortable. I expected a big salon to be a little hectic, but it wasn’t overwhelming at all.

Natural-brown tone-down consultation and price

The cut, treatment, and tone-down color (natural brown) came to ₩180,000. First-time visitors can get a discount, and if your bill is over ₩200,000, paying with Toss Pay can give you benefits of up to 27%, so that is nice too. Juno Hair isn’t just expensive—it gives generously with the service, and there are discount options like these too 🫶🏻

My color designer for the day 🤎🤎🤎 When I first met her, she looked so young that I briefly wondered if she was an intern—but absolutely not, haha. She has quite a bit of experience; she had been working in Hanam before being recruited to Dongtan. She laughed and said that clients keep mistaking her for an intern because of her youthful face, and that it is secretly a bit stressful.

Consultation using a hair-color chart

She brought over the color chart herself and consulted with me while showing each shade. When someone only explains the colors verbally without a chart, it is hard to picture the difference in your head, right?

Natural-brown tone-down color consultation

I debated ash versus green, but since I usually wear pink-toned makeup, I decided to play it safe with natural brown. Calling it a tone-down color really did feel like a tailored consultation that considered both my skin tone and my previous coloring history 🫶🏻

Level 7–8 light-colored hair before the service
Before

My hair was originally very light, at level 7–8, and my goal was to bring it down to around level 5!! But because my hair is fine and severely damaged, the designer said that going straight to level 5 would probably fade quickly, so she recommended level 3.5 instead.

My stylist was so, so cute, and we clicked in conversation too—I got my color done while chatting about this and that >_<

Completely satisfied with the color, hair condition, and cut

I colored my hair, but it feels even silkier. How did the color turn out this well~~♥ It is my favorite color I have ever had. I seriously want to recommend it to everyone around me.

Silky hair after the tone-down color

Juno Hair may look relatively pricey, but the results are truly dependable. Designer Chaea did such, such a good job. Don’t invest twice—get your color done at Juno.

Result after color and a 1 cm trim

She only trimmed about 1 cm from my existing length, but even that choice was exactly what I wanted. The color, hair condition, and cut—I was completely satisfied with every single thing (´▽`ʃ♡ƪ)

A complimentary treatment in the brown zone

There is a separate treatment-only station in the brown zone, and I received a complimentary treatment there. Nobody else was in that space, soft bird sounds were playing, and I was lying in a massage chair under the steam—it was so relaxing that I nearly dozed off, haha.

Gift samples and color-care shampoo

At the end, they packed three samples each of Tria Milia protein shampoo and treatment, Juno Hair’s private-label brand. They said it is a line that replenishes protein in damaged hair, so I am going to use it for care for the time being.

Tria Milia shampoo and treatment samples

And because I wanted the color to last, I also bought Tria Milia Color Care Shampoo myself for ₩32,000! It is really good—my hair color doesn’t fade easily.

My one-week post-color care routine

It has been exactly one week now, and the color is still holding beautifully. The first week after coloring is the real critical period, so how you care for it then is key. Let me share the routine I am following.

  • Get a tone-down color service at Juno Hair
  • For the first three days, wash only with cold water; after that, use water between cold and lukewarm
  • Use a mildly acidic shampoo (Tria Milia Color Care Shampoo)
  • Apply treatment thoroughly every time—it is essential
  • Blow-dry using only cool air (it takes about 20 minutes, but....)

I finally took the plunge after being stressed about my light hair, and both the result and the care tips were absolutely the best 🫶🏻💗 The interior is pretty, the salon is private, and Designer Chaea’s skills are the real deal, so I highly recommend it if you are looking for a Hwaseong hair salon. Next time, I am going to bring my husband for a cut and down perm. I am 100% willing to revisit the Dongtan SRT Station Branch 👍🏻
