Hwaseong Korean restaurant with duruchigi and janchi guksu

• I had a duruchigi (spicy stir-fried pork) set and janchi guksu (banquet noodle soup) at Yangpuni Kimchi Jjigae & Samgyeopsal in Bansong-dong, Dongtan.
• Parking was available in front of the restaurant, and the self-service bar had a great variety of side dishes, so it was easy to dine comfortably.
• The egg roll was wonderfully generous, and I was happy with both the duruchigi and janchi guksu.

I was craving something spicy and some meat for dinner, so after looking around, I ended up visiting Yangpuni Kimchi Jjigae & Samgyeopsal in Bansong-dong, Dongtan!

There is parking right in front of the restaurant,

so those coming by car can dine without worry 🚗

Choosing the duruchigi set and janchi guksu

The menu we ordered that day was the duruchigi set and janchi guksu!

• Duruchigi set — ₩28,000
• Janchi guksu — ₩8,000

It was just the right amount for two people 😊 We debated while looking at the menu, then chose this combination—and were totally satisfied 👍

Generous side dishes and the self-service bar

There was such a wide variety of side dishes!

I could keep bringing more from the self-service bar, so I could help myself without feeling self-conscious 😆

The salted seafood and bean sprouts were especially delicious. I finished them before the mains even arrived, so I refilled them several times, haha.

The size of the duruchigi set egg roll

The egg roll included with the duruchigi set came out first, and it was huge 😲

An egg roll this size would normally cost at least ₩15,000 at a pub, and egg prices have gone up so much lately too 🥚 Even so, I loved that it was served so generously 💛

How was the refreshing janchi guksu?

Next came the janchi guksu! At first I expected a warm broth, but it came with a refreshingly cold broth, which I actually liked even more ❄️

I was actually deciding between this and naengmyeon, but I think I chose the janchi guksu well. The noodles were nicely chewy and went so well with the meat that I finished every last drop of broth 🍜 The portion of janchi guksu was enormous too, haha.

The main event: duruchigi

Finally, the star of the day—duruchigi—arrived! Because it was pre-cooked, we could heat it up and eat right away, enjoying it comfortably without a wait 🔥

It looked so delicious sizzling away over the flame. Drool... 😋

How to eat duruchigi as bibimbap

I saw people mixing the accompanying roasted seaweed flakes and sesame oil into the duruchigi, then eating it like bibimbap (mixed rice)! When I visit next time, I definitely want to try it this way too ✔️

Final thoughts

The portions were generous and the staff were kind, so I felt good throughout the meal 😊 Above all, there was plenty of food and it was delicious, so my intention to revisit is 100%! I would also recommend it to anyone looking for a good Korean restaurant near Dongtan Central Park or considering a venue for a company dinner 🙆♀️
